The resort is beautiful and clean. There are fun activities to do there. The food is nice and the drinks are good. The beach is pretty dirty and gross we avoided it. Our biggest complaint was that the staff constantly asked for tips for just about every service. We ordered an all inclusive package but upon every order had to sign bills and were asked for gratuity. Other resorts in Cancun don't have this problem. I won't be back the competition in the area is better.
Love the resort, this was are second time to the resort. The food was excellent, you have to try the short ribs in the steak house. The staff are so nice and polite and really go out of there way to make you feel welcomed. Marley is the hardest working lady on the resort. Love Marley and all the staff. The bed was like sleeping on a could. Every staff member right down to the landscapers would greet you with the touch of the heart."from my heart to yours "see you again in 2020 when the adult luxury building is done.
We have stayed at a large amount of hotels and resorts over our years of travels and this is the 1st time that I feel we have finally found a home away from home!
My wife and I were staying at "Another Resort" in downtown Cancun and we not happy with the place at all.
Thank God we decided to go check this place out!
We checked out of our original hotel 3 days early and checked into The Villa where we finally started feeling like we were on vacation!
We are super excited to try all of their other hotels around the world.
If you are looking for the best staff and the best overall experience you will choose the Villa Group!
Best resort hands down! Breakfast buffet has a wide variety of choices all delicious! Freshly squeezed orange and green juice! Coffee is great, facilities are second to none and staff is wonderful! Definitely looking forward to our return! Thanks for everything Villa del Palmar my family loved our stay!
CAUTION! CAUTION! CAUTION! Do not get fooled and taken advantage of like I did. This resort membership cost me $4000 US dollars and promised great family trips and 2 dream week vacations. When I called to book this promised trip, I was given the run around and transferred many times to find out apparently my $4000 US membership expires if not used within a specific time and no refunds. We have been striped of our hard earned money and promised vacation time with our young family. Word of advise. Do not invest into this scam.
While visiting Cancun we were convinced to take a time share presentation in exchange for a discount on an excursion. We had not planned on an excursion nor a time share purchase. We visited VDP property on the promise of one hour and it turned into almost 3 of increasing levels of hard sell. While they property is certainly beautiful, the 3 hours want worth losing to same a few pesos. My advice--skip it.
The resort was beautiful, they had many restaurants and bars to choose from. The pools were amazing, as well! Lots of fun to be had by all ages. However, the beach was full of seaweed and less clear water- Which was fine for a quick swim, but not really to spend the whole day. If you are staying at this resort, I highly recommend and All Inclusive Option as the drinks and food are EXPENSIVE. You might as well be staying in Miami if you want to pay American Prices for things.
We stayed here in 2012 . We had a 1 Bedroom full suite ocean view it was quite beautiful. I found the resort to have a lot of activities and assorted options for food. Easy transport into town going back and fourth quite often. The staff went above and beyond to please. I do recommend this place you won't regret it, great pools and spa as well.
The last evening of our stay we unfortunately noticed an article of clothing was missing from one of our suitcases. :-( While we had it in our possession the day prior, we believe we can isolate when it went missing our last day. While the article lifted wasn't 'high-end' by any means, it was a mall name brand item around $75.00 in value. As soon as we noticed it missing from the suitcase (where I had left it from the previous day) I went down to report it while my significant other stayed in the room (at that point we didn't feel safe leaving anything unattended). When I reported it that same evening, I was told that there was no one available at that time of night (about 8:30pm local time) from Lost and Found OR Housekeeping, and to check back in the morning. The next day when I went back down to report it again, Security took a detailed report, and the Manager indicated that the report should have been made the evening prior when I first notified the staff (they did apologize). I was told by Management that they would do a thorough investigation and I'd hear back within 24-36 hours after they had a chance to check room access reports and interview all who had access to the room. The trip was in September and it is now November. Not only have I NEVER heard a word back from the hotel, but they also would not do anything at all to compensate us for the inconvenience (the stolen item from our luggage, time spent dealing with the issue, etc.) - not even offer to take care of our transportation back to the airport. Upon my return home, I did give the hotel a call after about 2 weeks (I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt). After several transfers, I finally spoke to someone who was able to pull the official report I made. They indicated the hotel had not yet called because they were still working interviews of staff. Again, its now November - I still have not had any communication initiated by the hotel, and sadly, I don't anticipate I'll ever hear anything. In fact, we waited around quite a bit prior to our departure our last day, in the event they'd find or learn anything, as I pretty much anticipated that once we left the property it was 'case-closed'. I am very disappointed at the lack of follow-through on the hotel's end, and unwillingness to even do anything at all to compensate us for the trouble. Unbelievable!!!! In my mind, it's just bad business. And honestly, I never write reviews, but this one warranted it in my book. :-( While we've always used in-room safes for any perceived valuables, we've never put all of the contents of our suitcases into the safe - who does?!? Hotels don't give you a safe big enough to store your luggage!!!! You should feel safe where you are staying, and you should feel comfortable leaving your suitcase unattended in your room. The whole way it's been handled is very unfortunate.
it was very good. friendly staff AMAZING SEAFOOD AND DRINKS!!! loved the sports bar haha and I liked the pools and sitting out in front of the ocean. overall a very relaxing, fun trip. (we went there in May but I forgot to write a review) the only thing is we got a crappy small room - a pull out bed and a normal bed. my little sister, brother and I couldn't fit all in the pull out couch so we asked to upgrade our room which they kindly did so after pleading a little bit :)
SCAM We were approached at a mall kiosk, and were asked if we were interested in a 90 minutes tour of this "new concept" resort where you can choose the number of days you want to have an all inclusive stay and number of days as a regular hotel (to save money on day's going out to the city where you don't take advantage of the all inclusive). In exchange for a discount on a couple activities. Sounds EXCELLENT, YES ?, wrong. we went there at 8 am (we were picked up by a taxi), and had to sit through 6 hours of someone trying to do a sales pich about a different concept of a time share where it even requires you to PAY MORE MONEY to enjoy some extra luxury. Please avoid it, we did get SOME of the discounts promised (not all). Don't talk to those people at the kiosk, avoid people offering things too good to be true, AND never agree to pay anyone a deposit upfront for something. Sorry for the rant, I never do this but I hope I end up helping someone. Cheers
The time before I would have rated it one more than this time. Unlike last time, the staff did not get us checked in by 4 p.m. and in fact they did not have an answer as to what was going on with our room when it was just after 4. So I complained to management and they gave us an upgraded suite and promptly got us situated in our room. However the suite they brought us to was quite dirty. There was no mopping of the floors, the tables were visibly dirty, and the floors hand rails on the balcony were a mess. They dirt, grime and paint splatters all over the place.
The food was good enough that I would rate it 4 out of five. We had room service our first night and they brought it to us faster than they had mentioned to us over the phone.
The beaches were nice except for all of the huge mounds of seaweed the entire length of the beach that borders the resorts property. The resort really needs to invest in a maintenance crew with tractor to clear the beaches with trash and seaweed that attracts fly's and that gives off a rotting smell.
The pools looked great even though they were working on their second to largest pool on the resort while we were there.
So all in all I would have liked to have given a more favorable review, but It should also be noted that my review comes after spending our first of 7 days at the resort. I have high hopes that the staff will help change my opinion of my first day experience of the resort and staff.
This place is such a scam. I was at the airport and asked them for shuttle service to the resort from the airport (which they provide for 40 dollars). They stated that they did not have a shuttle available and offered for me to take a taxi with full refund for it with a receipt . I took the taxi and paid 240 US dollars under the conditions that they would refund the money when I got to the hotel since they didn't have a shuttle available at the time. I get to the hotel with my receipt and they give me the run around about how they "can't refund me the money because they don't have taxi services". I called the managers and same thing. My family has been a member for years and it's unfortunate that this company continues to lie to its guests. We will be cancelling our membership and do not recommend.
We recently stayed in the one bedroom suite. it was very nice. The food in all the restaurants was great. The drink service was fast and the drinks were good. I would recommend.
My girlfriend & I wanted a relaxing weekend getaway to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun. What we got was a resort under construction, 40 minutes from Cancun, with some of the worst customer service either of us have ever had. Day 1 we walk in and our room has no air conditioning. Rather than fix the problem or switch us to another room, they sent an air purifier. We were told to leave our bags in the lobby, until we waited 4 hours & I decided to grab them myself. Our concierge, Jenny, told us to call her with any problems. Not once did she pick up a phone call during our 4 night stay. After my girlfriend pleaded with the manager for 2 more hours to get a room with air condition, we were finally moved upstairs. Day 2 we awoke to the sound of cranes, excavators, & lifts. Apparently, they failed to mention the massive amounts of construction this resort is undergoing for its expansion. After we woke up, we agreed to do the tour of the resort. Our concierge told us the tour would last 1 hour. ..3 hours later, we were fed up. We told our tour guide about the problems we had been experiencing. Rather than offer us discounts or a free excursion, our tour guide Cathy tries to sell us a different timeshare package.why? Why would we give this resort any more money? After losing our entire day on the "tour," we headed to the beach to indulge in some of the all-inclusive amenities. I've been to several all-inclusive resorts before, this is not all-inclusive.
You ask us to sign our room number every time we order something. You only give us good service if we tip. You charge for half the items on the menu. Day 3 we tried to reach out to management - no luck. We ended up taking a $40 cab to the actual Cancun strip. Finally, we had fun. The beach is nicer, the people are happy, no noisy construction, & life is good again. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. I was very unhappy with my experience and feel that we deserve a refund for this terrible trip. If I don't receive some type of reimbursement, I will be contacting my lawyer about the fraudulent advertising.
Our Family LOVE Villa Del Palmar. We have been here three times. The staff if amazing. They always make our trip extra special. We Usually go during Christmas time, which is always amazing for the kids! We will be returning. Great Family resort.
Excellent accommodations, restaurants and staff. Beach is great but a little Rocky once you get past a foot or 2 deep. There is a line of seaweed as well but not as bad as other reviewers make it sound. It's a nice beach to lay out on but if swimming is a high priority for you than I would consider looking elsewhere Although, the pools are very nice for swimming so that kind of makes up for it. Perfect pool temperature. The room itself is amazing (we stayed in a 3bd residential). Beds are very comfortable and I am picky. Food is amazing so far (still have 2 more days here). I would say beach is 4 stars and service is closer to 3.5 stars. Everything else 5.
Very nice. Amenities are great. Staff is great. Food and drinks are very good, particularly for all inclusive. Would give 5 star, but restaurant seating and service is very inconsistent. Often had 1 to 2 hour wait for seating.
I went for spring break with my friends and I do not recommend staying here. They try to charge you for every little thing you do. When you leave the resort you get charged, there is no free wifi, you have to tip the bartenders to serve you even when you pay for all inclusive and the worst part is that the service is very disrespectful. One night I tried to go to the bar to get a water bottle and they wouldn't give me one because they said "they were saving them for tomorrow and are closed now." I went at 10:20 at night and the bar is scheduled to close at 11:00 p.m.
My group was originally told we wouldn't all have to do all inclusive but some of us could, but when we checked in that was not the case. Everyone in the room had to have payed to get all inclusive. While checking out we had random miscellaneous charges on our card which we got reduced but was obvious they were taking advantage of college kids.
The resort itself was beautiful, it probably would have been a different experience if it wasn't spring breakers but the treatment was unacceptable.
Great place no matter if you're travelling for business or pleasure. The resort is huge with 5 restaurants. Best best feature of the place is definitely the beach. The staff takes great pride in keeping everything nice and tidy and there is a good service on the resort. There is also huge number of activities and the activity staff cares about the guests. Only downside is that the food could be better in my opinion. If you go for the all inclusive option you really need to eat and drink a lot for it to be economical because food and drinks are really cheap at the resort.
