Hotel is old and full of character. The staff was lovely and I enjoyed it there very much but don't expect the Plaza!

The bad:
Our bathroom sink drained very slowly, the heaters bang like someone is dropping bowling balls and a mouse got into my trash.
To be fair, I can't blame them for the mouse: I'd forgot food was in my trash and I refused housekeeping that day. Also, I chased him back out to his hole and unless you saw him go through it you'd never have know it was there.

The good:
I thought the price was very for what I received.
The beds and pillows were just perfect, I love a firmer sleep but my wife prefers "fluffy soft" and we were both very comfortable.
A tenant had caused a water damage in our reserved wing the night before we arrived (and we arrived very early) but the staff took care of us, got us in a lovely room and we never felt slighted or inconvenienced at all.

Overall I liked the Wellington and would stay there again. Don't expect posh, but know that it's not a dive. Very comfortable space and great staff!

Under no circumstances should you stay here unless want intermittent sleep all night. We were upgraded to a suite after numerous upsetting calls and finally gave in but this didn't rectify as still a problem here. The radiators sound like they are going to explode. We're told this is a "problem" but they still sell rooms and not let guests know. They should be advising people of the situation as when your in New York and constantly active sleep deprivation is not good here. Please be aware. I wish I could upload the terribly loud radiators. The location does not rectify the noise it was terrible so unless given a free of minimal rate night and try to give u a suite and still noisy. Do not stay at this hotel .

Clean hotel with plenty of space right in the middle of the tourist atmosphere in Manhattan. Rates were fantastic for Thanksgiving! We were close to the parade route and were able to check our bags during the parade, and while site seeing during the day. We were extremely happy with the deluxe double double room, and even had 2 bathrooms, which made getting ready in the morning very easy! Would definitely stay here again!

Great value and location. Clean rooms and helpful staff. We checked in on Friday night and requested rooms on the same floor. Wasn't a problem. The elevators were slow and one got shut down during our stay. Overall great experience.

Friendly, helpful staff who looked after us well during our stay. Decor is a little dated but adds to the charm. Stayed in a two bedroom suite with two doubles, a single bed plus a microwave and fridge. Although the air con/heater was rather noisy the comfortable beds made up for it. Great location really close to times square and central park. Subway station outside and a starbucks across the road what more can you ask for. Lovely hotel for a great price.

We stayed here for three days and I absolutely loved the location. We were a couple of blocks away from Times Square. The rooms are a bit snug but worth it. The check in process was fast. They do not offer complimentary WIFI and do not have a fitness facility. The concierge was very friendly and always went above and beyond to help us. I had a pleasant stay.

We stayed a week at The Wellington. We really enjoyed the location and the view. Their customer service was awesome and their house keeping was also great. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is family friendly. They do not offer complimentary coffee or food, but it is fine as there is a coffee shop across the street. The rooms are large and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed in a suite and it seemed like a big one bedroom apartment!! I would definitely recommend this hotel and I could not have asked for anything more!

Old school Hotel, downtown. I really liked it, liked the location, amenities. Room was small but clean and quiet. Really slow elevators. Enjoyed the 24/7 diner on the main floor.

The room was clean, but definitely dated and small. Location was great for us, right on the N, Q, and R, and a block or so from E line. Walking distance to Gershwin Theatre and Times Square. They lost our reservation, even after confirming a few days prior. Elevators are slow and cramped, plan extra time for leaving during peak hours. Overall, a bit pricey but it was clean and convenient.

Stay at Wellington Hotel was perfect mainly because of the location. Few blocks to Times Square, Subway station right outside the hotel which takes you to downtown and uptown. The rooms very clean and comfortable. My room had a decent view of few big buildings but not the Times Square side. Check in and check out was a quick and hassle free.

The location is fantastic. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The deli across the street has a fantastic breakfast, pastrami on rye and a chocolate layer cake to die for! Also, try a coconut macaroon as big as your fist. The staff at the Wellington was friendly, helpful and we felt safe at all times. So close to the Carnegie, you could hear the piano. (Just kidding, although if there was one downside, you can hear loud talking, jumping on the floor above you etc) Oversll, our experience was wonderful, we highly recommend the hotel just a couple blocks from Central Park to the right and Times Square to the left.

Extended our NYC stay one more night. Spent MON-FRI across the street at the Park Central. It is a HUGE downgrade. A lot smaller and dated rooms. The extra price paid across the street was well worth it

I only visited for a short while to meet with friends. You can tell it's one of the older buildings in NYC but it's relatively well kept. The lobby is very inviting and the rooms are what you might expect for NYC sized rooms.

The stay started off on a great note, with a complimentary upgrade to a suite. BUT very quickly spiralled downhill. We had a couple of friends over as a meeting point before our evening reservations, and without any warning got a knock on the door from security informing us that all guests MUST clear out as they've received a noise complaint. When I inquired as to why we weren't notified of the complaint via phone, we received feedback that the manager who received the complaint "didn't want to deal with this." Absolutely unprofessional. Perhaps hotel management needs to work on customer service skills.

Very good value for such a cheap hotel. Very clean rooms, nice lobby, helpful staff. Our room was very small with no extra amenities, but it's great for someone just looking for a cheap comfortable stay in Manhattan. The shower was very difficult to use, it seemed like it would either be 90° or 40° no matter what I did, with no in between.
