1. They charged the card an extra 70.00 hoping we wouldn't see the charge and really dragged their feet about having it removed.
2. I left my emerald earrings in the middle of the nightstand and realized it the next day, they said that no such item was found. I understand leaving them was my mistake, but that doesn't excuse the theft of my property, a gift from my first mothers day no less.
3. The hotel is FILLED with photos of a bald man being really shifty and aggressive with woman, I tried to keep my kids from looking at them.
Nice hotel. Conveniently located near Union Station. Great service very friendly and accommodating. Wish it had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Also, no movie channels on the TV.
The room fees add up and the overnight parking was outrageous, even for Capitol Hill. The TV was excellent, room was modern yet comfortable, but the bathroom was microscopic. All of the employees were courteous, helpful and friendly. Art & Soul restaurant was very disappointing.
The location was great. As soon as you step out the doors and look left, the Capitol Building can be seen close in front of you and is about a five minute walk (if that). The service was wonderful - they would help you with anything you needed and was quick and effective in all aspects. The room was very clean and the thermostat worked quickly. It's also comfortable it atmosphere, aesthetic, and in use.
I've stayed here twice and I've had a great experience here both times. It's a nice hotel in a central location. The staff is very nice and attentive. I would not mind staying here anytime I'm in D.C.
I thought the room was really nice but I thought it was weird they didn't have a mini fridge of any kind. Also every time I ordered food to dine in they always messed up my order. The first night they got it completely wrong but I was hungry and busy. It's weird because they repeat it to you and they still get it wrong. And their business center is a joke, two computers and one printer that was broken the whole week I was there. However, the staff was incredibly courteous and helpful. And they did give great service.
Never have had a Hotel that took such good care of us, making our Anniversary so special!!! Thank you Makela and staff for sending champagne and goodies!!! The restaurant Art and Soul WITH "Jimmy" as the manager and the most fab waiter "Vernon" made out stay most memorable phenomenal food and service was top notch!!! Thank you for making us feel a apart of something

The room was in good shape. The beds I found comfortable, but were squeaky so when I would move, it would squeak. The shower pressure was good and I love that there were good sized bottles of shampoo, conditioned, and bodywash mounted in the showers. It was great that the hotel is also pet friendly so we brought my friends dog with us.
The hotel has been recently remodeled, most importantly the elevators. Previously I avoided this hotel at all costs because of them. The guest rooms have been updated with large screen TVs, and the rest of the accommodations are decent as well. However, room service is very expensive, so consider it as a last resort. A burger that was $22 on the menu arrived to my door for almost $42. Tax and 18% gratuity included, along with an additional $10 charge for delivery. The hotel also charges $20 for a Resort Fee, added on top of your room rate.
The Liason is a great hotel to stay at. Rooms are well kept, spacious, and have trendy design elements. Also the location is perfect. 5 minute walk from the Capitol Building and Union station. About 20 minute walk to the Smithsonian Museums. Parking is the only thing that sucks.
It was a good stay. Rooms are clean and quiet. Well maintained. Had a few minor issues like dead battery in safe and no regular coffee but they were all resolved quickly. Staff is friendly and professional. Kudos to HSK/Merci.
The Liaison was an absolutely amazing experience. The hotel employees were very accommodating and the grounds were clean. The staff there have energy and life, it's just not a regular job to them. It's a must stay hotel when visiting DC. Definitely will return.
1. Our experience with the parking lot "attached" to the hotel was poor: we drove up, husband went in to see if we could check-in early and immediately someone came out to yell at me and tell me I had to move the vehicle I was the passenger, I couldn't move the vehicle, so a young man (valet, who was very polite and apologetic), climbed in and moved the vehicle - there weren't any NO PARKING signs, how were we to know, and obviously no staff on site to direct traffic until we were already parked. So we were told we could check-in in an hr so we could either park the truck and wait in lobby or go somewhere else and come back - we opted to park and wait - as I had booked a room that included Valet Parking, I was worried about how using the self-parking lot would mess that up, we were assured there would be no problem as we pulled up to get our parking lot ticket, an older gentlemen with a heavy accent started asking all kinds of questions as to how long we planned on staying, etc and convinced us that it would be cheaper for us to just use the self-parking lot as it's rates were cheaper, we agreed - we drove through the entire garage and the ONLY spot available was right at the beginning, so we parked there - a little later that day, we were approached and told we weren't allowed to park there as it was reserved parking for one of their managers once again, there was no sign - as we had JUST bought our hop-on/hop-off bus tickets and bus could arrive any second AND there were NO OTHER parking spots, we had no choice but to leave our keys with parking valet, who assured us he would take care of it he did, and it was a great spot, but the funny thing is, when the bellman came and helped my husband unload the vehicle earlier, he NEVER mentioned that it was a reserved spot when we came back later and wanted to get a few things out of our vehicle, they couldn't find our keys, luckily I keep a spare set in my purse, which I made sure to keep with me - we got the vehicle and keys back in the end, but what an ordeal.
2. The room was barely acceptable, beds very uncomfortable, toilet very high (my feet barely touched the ground not very comfortable) and NO mini fridge.
3. I admit the hotel is on the Big Bus Tours hop-on/hop-off so it makes it a great location and it's near Union Station, but so is the Hyatt across the street - we happened to go there for dinner our first night and the place looked MUCH MORE impressive.
4. Breakfast, very poor selection, EXTREMELY limited selection - although the lady behind the counter was very nice and friendly, the choices were few.
5. Front desk service was EXCELLENT, they were polite, friendly and accommodating, so was the young valet - concierge was also nice, but whoever is in charge of the drop-off zone at the front of the hotel needs to learn a few things about customer service, and the parking lot attendant could use better communication skills .
We were planning on staying 2 nights, but after this entire ordeal, the very uncomfortable Big Bus seats, the extremely heavy traffic which made sightseeing difficult, getting a decent meal without waiting for 1-2 hrs at the restaurants in town, we cut our stay short - we had been in D.C. for 3 days prior to this, staying at a different hotel for a work convention so this experience was more than we could handle. Just as a general point, if we were to do another bus tour of D.C., it would be one Trolley buses, they are much more comfortable and staff is friendlier.
We have been doing Valentine Days weekend here for the last several years and I am constantly impressed with the continuity of the staff. With the exception of the front desk and managers I see the same faces year after year. The bellhops, valets, restaurant staff etc.have not changed which is truly amazing. On top of it the fact that bellhops etc remember us after only a single weekend once a year is testament to their professionalism. All the amenities here are top notch, though I find the menu in the restaurant doesn't change very much.
