Amazing service. I had an issue where I was offered to upgrade my room at 7am via email but by 10am, the e-mailed link wasn't working. I called to inquire about it and was told that it had unfortunately expired and the offered rooms weren't available but I was upgraded anyway for no charge. Valet service was great and the restaurant inside was perfect for late night drinks and appetizers.
My wife and I recently stayed here for a getaway weekend and had a great time. We loved the theme and decor throughout the hotel and in our room. It's fun and refined at the same time. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly and always had a smile. I do wish our room had a better view, but that's the only real downside I can think of and of course not all the rooms in the hotel are facing the side of a building. We would definitely stay here again.
I booked this hotel after staying here earlier this year for a training. I love how centrally located it was and loved the decor of the hotel. The front desk staff and manager were so attentive. I accidentally reserved the wrong room for my son and I and they were so helpful in accommodating us with a roll away for the night and switched us to a larger room the next day. Overall, attentive & top notch service!
I enjoyed my stay at The George. The restaurant that's attached to it, Bistro Bis, was very good. The hotel itself seems a bit small compared to what I originally expected. But the overall room was a nice size. The shower stall was a bit small, but water pressure was great and hot water was very hot. It would be nice if they had complimentary breakfast, to me, that always completes my stay. One thing that sort of bugged me was that I didn't get new sheets after a day. They just made the bed with the dirty sheets. I hope they swap the sheets between guests. I wouldn't mind staying there again, but it was quite far from the attractions like Smithsonian, National Mall, White House, etc. Had to do a lot of walking, not complaining - just commenting on that.
Great location to stay as a tourist in D.C. You are conveniently by the Union Station, where you can get the metro, several buses, buses to other cities, food, amenities, shopping also you're very close to the city mall, near to the Capitol and in a very safe neighborhood. The hotel gives you a good place to sleep, with a very good bath, and all the privacy you need. You don't need to pass through the reception each time you get in or out the hotel.
Great hotel. Spacious rooms. Very friendly staff. Wine happy hour from 5-6 everyday!
The robes were amazing. They served free wine during happy hour. Fully stocked fridge. Right near union station. Perfect
This was a lovely place to stay especially since having our dog and cat this trip. The rooms are elegant with pillow and food bowls for our dog. The restaurant next door was nice, yet pricey. It is within walking distance to Union Station where many tours start and end. The only reason I gave it one less star is because at the time we came there was no bellmanso we had to get our own luggage for a family of 5. And when leaving, the security guy helped us with loading our luggage. We made it work. Nice friendly people, just that one thing was strange. Maybe they were short-handed? Who knows.
Really convenient location with national monuments, restaurants, stores all within walking distance Stayed there with my dog and they provide a dog bed and bowls and allow your pets to stay with you at no extra charge. The food from the hotel service was good (especially the steak and fries) and the ambience, decorations, staff were nice. It's valet only which is useful if you plan on going in and out of the hotel often but there's also a parking garage across the street if you just need to park once for your stay.
Within walking distance from Union Station, National Mall, shopping, and dining. Live the decor. Very pleasant staff!
Service was incredibly slow for breakfast / brunch. 25 minutes from being seated before we had to hail someone to get water and coffee. Similarly, the pastry basket we ordered before food came out after our meals. The food was excellent however.
The hotel is a five minute walk from Union Station. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a coffee maker and mini fridge. There is a free wine hour from 5:00 to 6:00. The restaurant, Bistro Bis, is fantastic. The only drawback was no breakfast is provided and the bakery around the corner is absolutely dreadful.
The hotel is in an extremely convenient location especially when you come into the city via the train. Inside the hotel everything can best be described as nice. The bed is comfortable, the rooms spacious, the showers have excellent water pressure- the stay left me wanting nothing. I would stay again.
Nicely appointed. Staff is exceptional. Front desk staff were courteous, friendly and accommodating. Happy hour is a nice touch! Close to "The Hill." Pricey but worth it, especially if you will need to be anywhere near the Capitol and congressional office buildings, and of course, Union Station.
