When I was booking this I set the time I would arrive,which was late. Upon arrival the place is a mess and its falling apart, it does not look like the pic they present. a white woman with dark hair recieved me. She was so rude and angry. It seems like she didn't know when I was arriving. But instead of showing me the room first thing she asks is my credit card. She slaps on $10 for coming out of their time which I was not made aware. She tells me I am lucky that she was there. I asked her go just show me the room she runs super ahead to the room. She's at this point so far from me and I'm running to catch up but I see the floors are carpeted stained and so dirty, the walls and ceilings are dirty it looks like a dump. In the end I requested to have my money back. This woman only returned me one night. She appeared money hungry. I don't think any of this was fair and I didnt like the way I was treated. Don't consider this place at all. There are other places much more cleaner and hospitable.

Upon my paid stay, I was discriminated against by the owner, Roma, is homophobic and was referring to me as "the gay one" to other guests who confronted me because no one likes the Roma or her petty son. They are miserable, disrespectful and prejudice people who talk about their own paying guests in such derogatory and disgusting ways because they are sad human beings with no life or accomplishments besides working in a hostel. Every guest loved me and so did the workers at the hostel who even asked me to return on several occasions and even invited me to sleep in the staff room one night. It was only the miserable owner Roma and her pitiful son who blatantly disregarded my complaint and threw me out when I told him other guests came to me about Roma's disgusting remarks about my sexual orientation. They can lie all they want, but I recorded my conversation with her son when I told him how his mother discriminated against me then he threw me out and he called my claim "Bogus" I also recorded the conversation with another guest who told me about what she said, which I am using currently in filing a complaint with the department of civil rights. I also have made friends with other hostel guests who where there at the time and disliked Roma and her son as well and thought she was a horrible human being for discriminating against someone based on their sexual orientation.

Really great staff, in particular Alina and Doug. Better than lofty. Do go to the socials they put on. Could do with some double glazing as the city is very loud but it's a hostel so

Really friendly atmosphere, staff and guests. Rooms are comfortable and are incredibly cosy with a small library, couch, and a fireplace, empty and unlit though, in room 9. Great little kitchen and dining area as well as a lounge near reception. Great place to stay

I mean you get your money's worth, don't expect a 5 star hotel. The rooms were decent bathroom could have been kept a little cleaner no complaints I will stay there again

The location is great.close to everything, but my flight was cancelled and when I called I was told my card had already been charged and he couldn't do anything about it. So.I got another flight into Baltimoreand they prvoided me with late check in codes and info. The code to the front door workedbut not my to my roomyou knowwhere there is a bed.. After a 3 hour delay at the airportI just wanted to sleep. I emailed them to see what they saidNO REPLY. Very disappointing. The place was super clean though.

Nice quiet hostel in walking distance from the Mall and Chinatown. I stayed in a private on the top floor which was quiet and there were enough bathrooms/showers so I never had to wait. All facilities are good and clean, and the WiFi is excellent. Staff is friendly, but you rarely interact with them because you only need them for check in. Overal, staying at Capital View was great and it's a great base for exploring the city.

Great hostel, in close proximity to a lot of night life with a lot of professional curfews. To speak plainly, you can go to a lot of clubs or bars without worry of what other people think. Prices were supposed I surprisingly cheap too.

A well run hostel by great people. You can't go wrong, except that some days the shower takes a little while to heat up. But is that really the most important thing? Also, I think it will be fixed soon.
Stay here, you'll meet good people and have a good time. Great location, great management, cool building. Can't go wrong.response / report this review
