Wow I can't believe this place is still in business! I wish there was an option for negative stars! I stayed here back in 2009 and had the worst experience of my life! My first room was dirty and I ended up switching it. Big mistake! I stayed in the motel for about 3 or 4 days. After about the 2nd night, I began to itch and I didn't think anything of it. By the time I was leaving the itch had progressed. I kept scratching and scratching. It got so bad my skin was inflamed and bleeding. Then came the quarter sized raised blotches all over my skin. No lie it was head to toe. I went to the ER they suspected I was having a reaction to bring bitten up badly by bed bugs. They had to give me the strongest level benadryl IV but it didn't help because I was so allergic to the bites. All in all I went to the ER, primary care, who sent me to a dermatologist, then allergist! None of those docs had ever seen bug bite patterns so aggressive! They said I'd been bit by both bed bugs and ticks. I racked up so much medical debt and I didn't have health insurance at the time so it took years to pay it all back! I confirmed that the bug bites obviously came from the hotel because my friend who shared the room with me in the other bed called me a week after the stay to let me know she had to see a doc due to bed bug bites. I hadn't told her what happening with me so it was coincidental she was suffering a similar diagnosis except her reaction wasnt as bad. Ultimately, I reached out to Motel 6 corp. but they said they weren't liable since it was independently owned. The hotel itself denied the bed bug allegations. I didn't have the means to sue them back then but I wish I'd done it anyway. This place is a disgrace and deserves to be shut down permanently and hotel management/ownership should be ashamed of themselves! DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING BIT UP BY BED BUGS Etc The end certainly won't justify the means.

Motel 6 itself was ok, but the neighbourhood felt rather unsafe. Some men (most likely other guests) stood outside of their rooms and kept staring at us as we entered/exited our room, making us feel quite unsafe. The rooms were worth the price we paid. Shower curtain had holes in it.

Clean, safe place to stay very close to city center and public transportation. We had a rental car and it was never molested in any way. Union Market is within walking distance although adjacent areas are sort of sketchy. Office staff very helpful and cleaning staff very cooperative and professional. My only irk was that the key card had to be renewed ever so often, but that only contributes to security in case of loss?

Clean room. Very basic. No frills. Able to keep car in lot the day I checked out. I like that there is no charge for parking. Short walk from the metro. Sits back from the road a bit more than other Rt. 50 motels--a good thing. Overall quite reasonable given DC hotel prices.

Room as expected, clean and comfortable. At a budget motel one does not expect fine amenities but you could spring for a small bottle of shampoo. And, you are not anywhere near the convention center which is down on 7th St NW.

My experience was atrocious. We checked in for a one night stay October 22-23, 2017.
We checked in and leftmost luggage in our room while we went to dinner. When we returned, we walked into our room to see several large cockroaches crawling on the floor.
We went to the front desk and immediately checked out. The individual at the front desk REFUSED to contact a manager and refused to provide us a refund.
We checked out and went to a competitor’s hotel chain where we had to book a new room after 10 pm and had to pay twice the price of what we booked at Motel 6.

Negative stars if I could. We booked 2 rooms for a night. Definitely not worth $115/night. I would much rather pay a bit more for a way better hotel if I knew how ghetto this place was. Their entire parking lot smelled like piss. The doors couldn't even shut properly. The bathroom smelled like straight up WEED. Everything in the room were very old/super out of date. They don't even have comforters for the beds and when asked, the front desk's response was: "they don't have enough for every room" that is not an excuse at all. If you're willing to pay $115/night for JUST an bed, then this is the place for you.

BED BUGS!!
Stayed for 2 nights. This motel is located in a very rough part of town. Door didn't close securely. Dirty and dingy room. Came home covered in bed bug bites. Found a live bed bug on my pillow. Spend a little extra money for a better establishment. Otherwise you risk bringing bed bugs home with you. DO NOT STAY HERE!!response / report this review -

When we went into our room they had dead bugs on the wall the sheets had spots on them and the towel Ben was dirty and the towels had pubic hair on them. We had to go out and buy sheets to put on the bed and we put washcloths from the Walmart. We just visit a Motel 6 in Connecticut and their room was perfect we expected for this one to be the same but was very disappointed will never stay at this one again Kala patient give us a cup of free nights stays.

The room was dirty, very smelly, the T.V. didn't work, and the phone didn't work! The furniture would have been rejected by Goodwill. The only thing acceptable was that the air conditioning worked.

Negative stars!!! Booked a 2 room 2 night reservation in Feb for April stay - both rooms were booked as NON smoking with 2 double beds in each next to each other. We were given 2 smoking rooms with 1 king bed in each on opposite ends of building. Thank God, we put most of our belongs back in our car when we left to tour the area that morning. When we arrived back to our rooms that night, our keys wouldn't work - the guy at the desk recoded them & we got back into our 1 room, but the other still wouldn't work. He opens with his master key & the place is gutted & any belongs we left were GONE!! That was still our room for another night & they tore it apart for construction with no warning! Move us to another room on another floor with a boarded up window. Upon moving the curtain in the morning, we find the horror scene from Ghost! Window is only boarded up on outside & inside reveals a very large jagged shard of glass still in the frame that would have seriously injured any one of us, especially my 2 young children. Our belongings are still missing & they will not do anything to compensate us for our stolen items or horror movie experience complete with cockroaches. Stay as far away from this motel as possible!!

Well, our single bed, no smoking room has a hole burnt in the sheet and a band-aid wrapper on the floor. And the lost my reservation. Bathroom was nice though. Just gross looking bed, slept on blankets that we brought. The location was absolute crap which probably doesn't help considering there were constant sirens and trucks loading and dropping off. Only thing this place was good for was being close to the attractions and decent bathroom
