It was a good and serviceable hotel. Liked the guy in the tiny gift shop and the rooms were very clean. Staff was unobtrusive.
upon check in our room the TV wasnt working. After 30 minutes and multiple phone calls they send maintenance who admits it was broken. after finally being moved to another room i went downstairs and ask to speak to a manager. front desk said there was no manager or even assistant manager to speak with. our new room had a dirty bathroom and the sheets were stained. we had to take photos to show the front desk before they would send house keeping. horrible customer service. they didnt care or even compensate
This is a low budget but very solid hotel. We are not big Days Inn users but it's so close to us it's our go to for guests. The facility is older so if you're expecting a Hyatt/Hilton with conceirge go else where. But i have found the desk manager more helpful than those at high end hotels.
It's conveniently located to the metro (2 stops to zoo about 6 to smithsonian) and so much cheaper than staying in the middle of the downtown area. If you're on a budget, want a convenient hotel, in a safe location choose this one.
Rooms were clean but the staff does not have their act together. When we checked-in the staff barely acknowledged us because they were too busy trying to figure out the name of a guest who checked out without being charged and another guest was overcharged.
Housekeeping forgot to put the fitted sheet on one night. It wasn't the worst but I would not stay here again.
They make you feel like a trespasser before your checkout time. We stayed there recently, and they deactivated our cards precisely an hour before our checkout time. This is a major inconvenience at this hotel, because you cannot even use the elevator to get back to your room if your card is not activated. They also knock on your door before checkout time, and start calling your room precisely at checkout time. I have never seen a hotel that so aggressively harassed their guests to leave on time. The location is reasonably good, however, the rooms are OK, and the people who work there seem nice. Luis was especially helpful. The free, unsecured WiFi is quite slow, so much so as to be nearly unusable.
Room was basic and a little old, but comfortable. I had an issue the second day where both my key cards stopped working, but it was quickly resolved. Neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. Hotel restaurant Tesoro is solidly average. Don't expect to be impressed but a good option if you are trying to save money.
Price was reasonable for the place. I liked the location. 2 blocks from metro and it took us 30 min metro ride to the Capitol. Room was very comfortable with tv, security box, iron, coffee maker, desk and chair. My room 414 had one non working outlet, it took me a while to figure out why the hair dryer wasn't working. Parking was $23, unfortunately many other hotels in Washington dc also charged from 20 to 30, so i am guessing it's normal.
This is not a high end hotel but pretty clean for the price. Staff was not that friendly at check-in. $23.60 per day to park is over the top as well. No breakfast as advertised prior to check-in. Check-in staff advises that breakfast is served at a restaurant next door for 10% off. They also charge $15 to put a microwave in your room if they have one available. No refrigerators in room. If you are stay in in DC for just a couple of days this hotel will be fine, anything more please look else where.
Overall, I had a good stay. The check in took a long time for the party in front of me (about 15 minutes), but my check in took less than 2. I stayed in a double room, and it was very spacious and clean, and happily, the A/C unit worked. I didn't like that the iron in my room was faulty, the long check in times, and the price to park my car. That being said, I think my stay was a good value. There is a safe, A/C, and in-room coffee maker. The front desk was very kind when I forgot toothpaste. All of the staff has been very kind in general. The location is convenient to 495 and the metro red line, and the neighborhood is nice with lots of commercial and dining options nearby.
Where to begin. I arrived around 7:30pm and was told the water was off for the evening. In the bathroom I noticed a bug. Lights did not work in bedroom, so I can only hope no additional bugs were around. I tried to adjust the AC, but the wall unit was badly damaged and the knobs were ripped off. Having no control of the AC on a summer night in DC is not good. Electrical tape was used to hold the bathroom mirror in place. In addition I paid for a king executive, but received a double bed room.
Nice staff, clean rooms but during my stay on Memorial Day weekend the elevator didn't work, they had ABSOLUTELY NO wash cloths or microwave on the premise I get some place don't have it in the room but when majority of the guests are from out of town including myself it's a little tacky to have to walk to 7/11 and heat up your food. But by far the worst is waiting 3 hours for wash cloths, which even in the worst motels to the most luxurious of hotels I've never encountered. But the staff again were really nice and helpful. I will choose another hotel next time.
This hotel is in a good NW DC location at a reasonable price for the area. The room wasn't pristine but it was acceptable. The television did not work properly, the window did not lock, and there was a hole in the wall. If you just need a place to sleep, it's fine. Parking cost $23 but Wi-Fi was free.
As a 2-star hotel, obviously this wasn't going to be a luxurious experience, but I was totally satisfied with my stay. My room and the rest of the hotel was clean, I had everything I needed, and I felt safe knowing you needed a key-card to access the elevator or to enter the hotel late at night. The location was also totally perfect, just a two minute walk from the Van Ness metro station, and walking distance to the National Zoo, with a cute bakery for breakfast nearby, and some nicer restaurants within a block. The price was right too, and I would probably plan to stay here again the next time I visit D.C.
Terrible customer service from the beginning while setting up a contract for a large party. I couldn't get the group sales lady to call me back or return an email. If we asked for changes the contract was not updated correctly. I had to edit them and send them back to her to correct. Once my party arrived they were not happy with the customer service or the accommodations. I left a voice mail for the general manager who never called me back. After my party returned home I got a call from the group sales lady who let me know that she didn't fill out the contract correctly and was going to send us an updated bill. There is no excuse for such incompetency. Do not stay here!
