I really hate to knock on places like this. It's hard to find a specialty museum like this. However, our experience was awkward and not too thrilling. We went on a Friday afternoon during Spring Break and were probably his only guests that day. The dioramas are horrible. More or less GI Joe's and cardboard pieces for diving equipment. The submarine was cool, I guess. It was missing a ton of stuff out of it, though. All of the diving equipment is cool, but there's no real order to it all. I expected to go through time like it was at the beginning, but then it just gets kind of random. There's also a video looping in the "theater" that you can hear all through the museum. It's a voice that sounds 60s-ish, very creepy. A lot of the equipment is rotting and falling apart too. The video I mentioned earlier is awful, very old and outdated. The giftshop isn't really a shop, it's just in a corner near a bunch of stuff that's piled up from the museum sloppily. All in all, this place could be A LOT more interactive and updated being so close to a Naval diving center. It will have to be if they want to survive. There's a few cool things worth looking at: MkV dive helmets, new navy dive suit, submarine, old air pumps. But there's no order.

Fun, hands on experience. Highly recommend.
Very cool stuff to see and learn.
The staff was amazing, over and above in so many ways including engaging my 10year old, answering questions, and even looking things up for him. Great time, will return.response / report this review -

Learn the history of diving. Interesting and educational. Pretty quick to run through but they did have plenty of interesting things to see and read. We enjoyed the various submarines and several diving suits from different time periods.

An amazing place to discover the history of diving in both the military and recreational realms. Amazing exhibits and very friendly staff. Will definitely be returning.

This place is where my dad would take us when we would come down on vacation when i was little, and it still awesome!!!! And they have two pokestops and a gym!?!?!?! Dude. it's probably the best place to be on the beach. just don't go inside the subs during the heat of the day trust me on this. But definitely visit. You'll be glad you did :)

My grandpa and I went to this museum during spring break just to see what it was about and we ended up being blown away! They had endless articles and artifacts from diving, most of it was interactive also so you could touch it. We even got a tour of a submarine from a nice lady that worked there! Definitely stop by!

Lots of interesting equipment. Needs to be remodeled. Feels kind of like an old military surplus store for divers. Super friendly staff.

Very nice layout with some great Navy history lesson. Has dive submarines you can climb in. Most items are out in the open and you can touch the stuff.
