Not bad, decent location, and a clean hotel.
Great hotel in a great location. Easily accessible from JFK or LaGuardia (we used the subway to save money). Spacious rooms with a king sized bed and shower for 2. Definitely staying here next time we are in NYC.
Location is great. Very central to lots of interesting areas. The hotel itself is nothing to write home about. The desk staff is frequently joking around or taking to each other and didn't give even a head nod to guests arriving. Our shower looked pretty bad with missing grout lines and missing tiles. The light in the shower didn't work at all. Dirty carpet in the room (looks like wax or something). Missing make-up mirror in the room (the articulating arm was there, but the mirror wasn't to be found).
Basically the hotel looks to be falling into disrepair faster than it should be, which can only be evidence of lackluster ownership/management.
There are 3-4 other hotels within a stone's throw that we wish we had stayed at instead.
I attended a rooftop after work event. The staff was very nice and helpful. I felt the rooftop was small for a dancing event. Or maybe how the promoters setup the event was unpleasing.
Clean rooms, good service. Definitely for a younger crowd. The rooftop bar has hammered people constantly going up and down the elevator which can be a bit uncomfortable. Their business center PC is actually running Windows XP so it's more or less useless, even if you only need to print something. That said, the rooms were pretty quiet and very clean. All the staff are great. Even the provided toiletries were nice.
The customer service here is excellent. 30 minutes after checking into my room, the front desk called to make sure I was comfortable. The room itself is nicely decorated, with a nice little reading area (comfy chair and light). Highly recommend it.
