Loved the room, one of the best beds I've ever slept in and the bathroom was lovely. The window opened out to a staff corridor which was a little odd, but the room had great air con.

Really excited to see how the space ended up! The rooms look great- beautiful architectural elements with all the modern amenities. Also, the restaurant space, although still under construction, looks sleek and elegant.

We liked Life Hotel. The room was stylish and functional, not huge but bigger than rooms we've stayed in as a family of 3 before. Beds very comfortable. Lots of work going on and it will be much better when 2nd lift is finished, as often long waits. Breakfast was simple, and finished at 9, despite TV channel info saying 10am, so like us many people missed it. One customer was horrified when breakfast lady threw out left over donuts at exactly 9am, pointing out homeless people in just about every street of the City, and we did feel that was a strange decision. Overall a good stay and the biggest room TV we've ever seen. Would return.

We chose this hotel for 2 nights due to good location and reasonable price and it exceeded expectations in almost all areas. Friendly staff, clean and well furnished room and bathroom, good vibe generally.

Renovation is still on-going but it didn't bother us one bit. The only problem we had with it was noisy A/C unit in the room. With it on you could barely keep a normal conversation or sleep, without it - it really got hot quite quick. Size and quality of the bed, however, made up for it.

Overall - strongly recommended, I'll definitely return the next time I'm in NYC.

Stayed here for one night in September. First off, the room is very nice and comfortable. The bed is super comfy. The building has a cool history and I'm sure this hotel is going to be cool when it's completed. But I do wish I'd known ahead of time that the hotel is still under construction. The restaurant isn't open yet, and the lobby isn't finished, so there's no comfortable place to sit and have a drink, plan the day/evening, or have a meeting place with the rest of my party. There is blue and yellow caution tape strewn around areas of the lobby to keep people out of the construction zone. The adjacent bar feels uninviting due to lack of seating and tables, and still papered windows. I thought it was odd that the reception area is very small and tucked in the back of the space behind a wall. When I first stepped in I wasn't sure if I'd come in the right entrance and even asked the disengaged greeter, who was sitting listlessly on a chair near the door, where's the check in? All in all I have to say the entry, lobby, and check in experiences were not very welcoming. Complimentary breakfast was nice however nothing was labeled and I put hot water in my coffee by mistake thinking it would be cream. I also read in reviews and articles about the complimentary reusable water bottles for every guest and while I saw dozens of them stacked behind the bar, one was not offered to my husband or me. I also wasnt told about the filtered water dispensers on every floor, which I read about in an article. Maybe I wasn't afforded that amenity because I only stayed for one night, but that really shouldn't matter. Overall the trip was a nice experience mostly because since moving upstate I don't get to Manhattan very often anymore and it was nice just to be here for a special occasion, but I wish I knew the place wasnt finished before I booked.

Stayed for one night and it was great! The employee were very nice and friendly, the rooms were clean and nicer than expected. It's also very close to a lot of nice bars and restaurants. It's still under renovation but I'll definitely be staying there again on my next visit to NYC.

Great price for the room. Under renovation June 2017. Room 809 was spacious and well decorated. Hotel offered complimentary breakfast and happy hour. Once renovations are complete I think they could raise their prices. Great location for easy METRO access and other attractions. Staff was courteous and helpful. One of the better hotels we have stayed in for the approx $250/per night midtown Manhattan.

So if you've never been to a hotel with your significant other just for some alone time you haven't tried life hotel. It's exactly what it's priced no gimmicks no smoking unless you want it to be and very straightforward transaction. You get your room and your golden. Very romantic and comes with EXACTLY what you need. Just bring your regular handy equipment.

Hotel is newly renovated. Nice staff, met the owner this morning as he personally served us our coffee and juice. Went above and beyond to make sure we had the best NY experience. Hotel is very close to nearby attractions. Would I stay here again? Of course, the only reason I rated a 4 star is bc the restaurant part of the Hotel is not open at the moment. Everything worked very well in our room. Beds are AMAZING!!

We had a nice cosy room with big bathroom with a warm floor. The hotel also has lockers for luggage if you have to check out but still have time to explore the city. Oh.. And location is perfect of course.

I was in New York to attend an event very near the Herald Square Hotel. I booked a room, not expecting much for the very reasonable price. It's a small place, with a lovely entrance and tiny lobby. My room was nearly perfect. It was small, but had fourteen foot ceilings with elaborate molding, a big brass bed and a (black!) chandelier. The large bath was faced in marble and also featured a small chandelier. Good water pressure, nice towels and sufficient lighting too. The bed was comfortable, with plenty of pillows and, best of all, no bleachy-off-gassing from the bedding. I really hate waking up with sore, red eyes from industrial laundry processing. I was on the second floor, but the room was quiet. The old walls masked any sound from other rooms and I didn't hear street noise either.
The hotel is undergoing renovations, and although my room looked recently redone, I would have appreciated an outlet near the head of the bed.
I did not avail myself of the advertised continental breakfast. There's no way I'm going to Manhattan and missing out on trying one of thousands of great places to eat!
I would certainly stay at the Herald Square Hotel again. It had everything I wanted - a clean, pretty, comfortable, well-appointed room. The neighborhood is full of good Korean restaurants, and handy to lots of midtown attractions.There are parking garages nearby.

Great Hotel, close to every thing at a walking distance (10 min to Times square). The rooms are beautiful, at high quality and everything is cleaned thoroughly every day.

The only drawback is the breakfast, when we booked the hotel it was advertised "Breakfast included". It was actually coffee and some donuts, that is not a real breakfast. Even so the price was still great for what you get, and free coffee and donuts every morning is amazing. Just don't count on that breakfast to hold you until afternoon.
