We stayed in the "Penthouse" room and while the room had high ceilings and a great view of the Empire State Building, the room didn't have much more than a bed and small table. Overall, a good stay but would have expected more from the room. Breakfast was good with no remarkable options or differences from other DoubleTrees.

Rooms are small and dated. Not bad and pretty typical of New York, but not what you would expect from a DoubleTree elsewhere. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff was very nice and accommodating but the rooms are very outdated and a lot smaller than in the picture, no closet space at all so when you are traveling with 3 most of your clothes will stay in the luggage. You do not have any amenities even in the suites (which is what we had) such as fridge, sink, microwave etc. Although we did request a fridge and they were very good about making sure we received it. It is in a great location near the subway and lots of shopping. In regards to being in New York staying here you are smack dab in the middle of everything.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Cannot overstate it. Front desk, management, bell-staff, EVERYONE we encountered at this hotel smiled, made us feel comfortable and welcomed.
While the immediate area outside the hotel has nothing to offer, the hotel is centrally located just a few blocks from Penn Station. Easy walking distance to shops, cafes, metro.
Our room was small but clean. Bedding was clean and comfortable. No view but we were only there to sleep. Got a last minute deal, $160/night for king n/s.
    Would definitely stay here again.

I loved the hotel, station nearby, so easy to get to everywhere because of the location. The room is small but sufficient, really nice bed no fridge though. The staff is very friendly.

Rooms are small, this is not a "glamourous" hotel, but who cares?! You're in NYC, get out of your room! :P Super clean hotel, LOVELY STAFF (great job guys, shout out to Dwayne). We had a blast and we'll be back! Xx

The free cookies taste amazing and they have a different flavour water by the elevator every day! Pineapple is my favorite. The housekeeping was perfect. My only complaint is that the showers spill water over the edge.

The rooms are small, and all you see from the window are structures. But that's typical of New York. Good breakfast menu. The staff is very nice and pleasant. And it's conveniently located.

Great location! Plenty of nearby cafes, bars, and restaurants nearby. The room was very nice and surprisingly quiet despite the busy street below. Overall great place to stay

It was clean and just what you needed for a city get-away. I loved that they offered me a melted cookie when checking in. The staff were lovely too! If you want to park they have an affiliated parking lot diagonal to the hotel, it's positioned as soon as you turn right on to 29th and it's on your left. It costs $35 a day when you book a stay with the hotel.

Average sized rooms by NYC standards and friendly staff. Parking garage is nearby so, if needed, it's easy to access your car while it's parked. North/West facing rooms on the upper floors have a pretty good view of the Empire State Building.

Very basic room. No chair other than an office desk chair, no fridge, no microwave but you get cookies upon check in. The bathroom is VERY small--I can touch the walls when I spread my arms out. Ditto door to shower curtain. Lobby is tiny and always crowded. Better value elsewhere. Room is clean and if it's under$130/night it's a good deal. Neighborhood is quiet nights and weekends. Must Uber to great restaurants. Nothing nearby that's exceptional.
