Thee best place to stay. Perfectly small room (who needs anything bigger?) , great mattress (slept very well), very clean, close to everything we wanted to see. I will be back!

4 stars for that price range. The best is the location. Close to the Empire State, Times Square, etc. Stores and restaurants also. The hotel is clean. Linens and towels also clean and not worn. Rooms are small, as expected with a small sink. I was a bit concerned about the shared bathrooms, but they were well maintained and clean. I think they are serviced several times a day. It was a good investment given the options and the price range. Not noisy but also not super quiet. I deducted one star because the check-in guy was not as friendly as I expected and the same with the other front desk person. Overall a decent place to stay a couple of nights with no kids

Nice little hotel for the price, the room was small but that is to be expected when you are staying in New York. The hotel is a bit dated with decor and the lift to the upper floors but I found it charming in it's own way. The room was clean and I never noticed the share bathrooms we're dirty either. It was relatively quiet and I could see the Empire State Building from our room. And the hotel was within walking distance to evything we wanted to do. Overall, would book again if we come back.

I was hesitant about this hotel, the pictures made the rooms look a bit small and and the decor a generation behind. But the price was right, and the location central so we went for it. Upon arrival we took the quaint old style elevator up to our room and found everything exactly as advertised, in a good way. Yes, the room was small, but you likely don't plan on spending much time in your room, you've got business or touristy stuff to do. You just need a place to crash, and that's where this room delivers. The bed is actually really great. Far better than I expected looking at the pictures. Overall experience has been no nonsense, clean, and comfortable. Perfect place to crash.

Great place to rest our heads. Room service is quick and sufficient about attending to their guests needs. Everything we needs outside of the hotel was in a reasonable walking distance. I would suggest them to anyone who are visiting New York.

Rooms are pretty cool. Gives you an ancient look. Its kinda self service hotel. One big catch is that the hotel has shared bathroom and loo. So one bathroom is shared amongst 4 rooms. Every room has two beds. So if there is full occupancy, 8 people will be sharing 1 bathroom.

Interesting experience. The rooms are super small and the decor feels like I've just stepped into the 40's, and not in an intentional way, they just haven't renovated it since then!

I think this was a great hotel to stay out. Very close to many areas of interest all within walking distance. If you don't mind sharing a bathroom ((which was a one at a time deal, not a multi-person style)) then this is a perfect place. Room had a bed and sink as well as a TV, closet, shelving, and a desk. All the staff we spoke to were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again

First I'll state that i had a very pleasant stay with the extremely polite and help from "jorge" the daytime manager. OK so to be fair this is a very old established bldg. The rooms are of pre war sizing(small)So if your expectations are for space then maybe keep looking. My room was spotlessly clean and so was the bathroom. The place is Certainly a throwback from a bygone era but eclectic and accommodating!Jorge or george ?at the front desk was just the best! I'd absolutely stay their again

Have stayed here several times over the years. This is a good simple, reasonable, safe hotel. Clean, neat, relaxed, friendly staff, very well located, quiet. And yes it is old-fashioned, rooms are small, bedding and baths are simple. But it is clean, secure, relaxed, and just fine for a decent price and a decent sleep after a day out.

Best sleep I've ever had at hotel. Very quiet and authentic New York feel. Good value, will likely book again. Short Uber ride to many attractions.

We have just spent one night here but so far so good. The rooms are nice and we'll arranged with good storage. They are small and there's no foyer but the price somewhat reflects that. Location is good, easy to get lots of places and there is a 24 hour delivery very close.

The hotel is worse than the pictures. Personal didn't greet at the time of check in. Also Sunday morning 3/5/2017, I arrived at 6am with family members with breakfast in hand to enjoy my last few hours in the city. Front desk told my family to get out. They didn't allow any one go upstairs unless your a gust. I tried to explain I was from out of town and only had the last few hours to spend with my family. Fredrick stated if I went upstairs he would call the police. From that point on I told him, We weren't disturbing anyone and if he wanted to call the cops he was more than welcome to. Family members and I went upstairs, and they left after a few minutes. We all fell extremely uncomfortable.
