Dinner at the Providence restaurant was really pleasant and peaceful. Our server, Dennis, was definitely on the ball and had a great balance between attentiveness and charm while knowing when to leave us alone on our date. My only disappointment was that the menu lacked a little excitement for me as a younger foodie, and my food was nice but didn't have any memorable "wow" factor. I ordered the prime filet, which was cooked perfectly to my order, but I would have loved to have a bit more seasoning. Didn't even have to be a fancy rub, because I appreciate that some restaurants do really well with a very classic approach, even a tiny bit more salt would have been better to open up the flavor a bit. That said, my husband ordered the bison hangar steak with a poached egg with incredibly delicious roasted root vegetables. It was absolutely wonderful, and everything my meal lacked in flavor, his had. Actually, we just swapped dishes and that solved the issue for me. Again, not a true complaint, but for the price of the dinner on a rare child-free date night, I was hoping for a little more of a special experience. I would go back, but there are lots of other restaurants in the downtown, River Market and Crossroads neighborhoods we'll try out first before Providence bumps back up into rotation.
Nicely renovated. Rooms are small and you have to ask for a fridge. Great staff. Clean room. Close to Power & Light district which has tons of restaurants. Breakfast was very good and fresh with lots of options. Hotel is nostalgic and enjoyed learning about its history.
My work had there Christmas party at this location. The appetizers were good, we had bacon wrapped shrimp and cheese burger sliders. They were served in the Walnut room, which is where the breakfast buffet was served. We then had dinner in the Providence. I had tomato bisque, to die for, a 14 ounce Ribeye, which some people said was a bit undercoated, and a slice of cheese cake, which was on the smaller side but still delicious. The drinks were pricey, a shot of fireball was 7 dollars for instance. However the ambiance was very nice. I stayed overnight in room 802, the view was great and the bed slept well. Only thing I would say is that the water pressure was not very good for the bathtub, I could get it to fill for a bubble bath. I was a bit disappointed that breakfast wasn't included with the stay, not even the basic breakfast bar with an option to upgrade. Overall though the hotel looked nice, and for and old hotel with lots of years under its belt it didn't have any funky odors or anything.
Recently renovated rooms provide a comfortable stay in a historic building. Staff was excellent and seemed eager to ensure the stay met expectations. Very friendly bartenders in the Drum Room Lounge off the hotel lobby.
In room climate control took extra time to adjust temperature. Wireless internet access could use improvement as signal was intermittent. No wired access available in room, making business connection difficult.
The hospitality of the Hotel President Kansas City is always top-notch. I stay frequently, and the level of service is consistent. The rooms have been recently updated, and are very comfortable and stately. The Drum Room is excellent, and a part of Kansas City's great history. The hotel itself is a historic landmark. Make it a part of your Kansas City trip, you won't regret it!
Room was a decent size, nice big bed. No bathtub, very universally accessible bathtub though. No continental breakfast and some issues with the booking (prepaid, charged card again) but easily worked through. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is gorgeous and full of history and is within walking distance of many different places to visit. The staff were wonderfully helpful and very courteous. We will definitely consider staying again when we are next in the area.
My husband and I stayed two nights here and had a wonderful time. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is fantastic. We cannot wait to stay here again.
Parking was a bit of a hassle, but that is to be expected in that area. To use the hotel garage, you must check in first. Otherwise, we enjoyed the stay. Room service was fast. Great location. Good views. Quiet room.
Excellent hotel and service. Have stayed here multiple times with great experiences. Stayed for a wedding. Comfortable beds, commodities, bathroom. Will definitely be back
Amazing staff, beautiful historic building, and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and got a great night's sleep after walking back from a concert at Power & Light. Parking and traffic are a little tight in this area, but the valet service is very reasonable and I was happy to have that option so I didn't have to drive around downtown anymore :)
Though a Hilton it has great boutique hotel ambiance. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are clean. The water is hot. The restaurant on site is excellent as is the Drum room. The on site Starbucks is not a franchise so don't expect to see the same pastries or a quote points.
Excellent location near to the light district. There are many restraunts within walking distance. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Biggest down fall is that there is no fridge in the room or a bath tub. May not seem like a big deal but when your pregnant and trying to eat healthy and relax it really puts a damper on things.
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. It was absolutely gorgeous, clean rooms, great staff, and very peaceful. It was only a block from our event which was extremely convenient. Sasha at the front desk was very helpful and if we had any issues it was fixed within 10 minutes. Would highly recommend this hotel!
I was a guest in your beautiful hotel for a week in January during the figure skating event at the Sprint Center. Our room was clean, spacious and conveniently arranged. Breakfast food and service for our group of ten in the Walnut Room was excellent! Icing on the cake for my stay came from the front desk. Sasha efficiently checked me in and made me feel welcome, like being at home! He fulfilled my requests with a warm friendly smile every time! Thank you for a wonderful week!
