Came for the theater, and it's a nice hidden gem! It's modern enough to not feel like you're at a budget experience, and is rarely busy at all. Would highly recommend if you like a less crowded movie-going experience.
Saw a movie there, Ferdinand the Bull. Theater was not well marked and in a back corner of the property. Refreshment counter was under - staffed even though not very busy. There is a lot going on here beside the casino. Good restaurants and entertainment for all ages.
We went to the casino to celebrate my birthday. When I went to get my card to gamble the lady was super nice and gave me a happy birthday necklace. Everyone that I interacted with that worked there was very nice and wished me a happy birthday. The slots were kind of boring so I decided to try craps for the first time. The employees working the table were very helpful with trying to explain the game to me. Even the people around me playing were nice and helpful. Overall it was a great time.
Another boat to take your money if you stay long enough. Don't even use the free rooms scam. If wanting to dine out, go to a restaurant without slot machines. And definitely avoid using the so call free slots machines coupons mailed to you. It's not entertainment it is all scams to get your attention to the casinos floor.
A great place to distract yourself for a few hours. Take your time! Play the slots and enjoy the people watching. The table games are great and the employees are helpful. If you are hungry, give the deli a try. The food is very good.
I love going to Ameristar. It is my second home. Would take my Aunt here three to four times a week before she passed last year. She looked forward to getting out of the house. And never failed she'd always walk out with winnings. The staff were like a second family to me since I didn't gamble. I made a ton of friends while walking around there to kill time until time to leave. I will always visit this place. It holds many wonderful memories for me.
Wow.. loved it here!! All you can eat!! And they have like food from everywhere. So much variety. And staff is so friendly. Very well organized to get every one seated and taken care of. Not your average buffet!
Valet is super quick! I stay here once a month for girls night out. We have dinner, visit the casino, and stay at the hotel. Hotel is about a 2.5 to a 3.0 star. The tub and shower is our of date and the TV has VERY limited amount of channels. No room service.
We went for their buffet special all-you-can-eat crab legs. While it's rather expensive, about 35 dollars per person, they have a variety of options from Asian cuisine to BBQ and of course crab legs. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. Afterwards, we went to play the penny slots at the casino. The atmosphere is very nice and decently clean. There was a bit of a smokey cigarette smell in the casino area as you are allowed to smoke in there - I personally did not like it because I'm a non-smoker with allergies, however it could be a plus to smokers who would appreciate being able to smoke while playing in the casino.
My two friends and I came to Ameristar and ate at the buffet. I have eaten here many times over the years and it's usually pretty good. I didn't realize the buffet area was under construction. It was around 7:30. It seemed like the buffet was limited and the food didn't seem very fresh. My bread pudding was NOT cooked. It was actually soupy and cold and when I told the manager, she said shed take care of it. She then came to out table and said he was cooking it longer on the food warmer and it would be ready in a few minutes if I wanted to retry. Nah. I'm good. Kudos to out nice waiter Leon. Was nice and kept my drink full. You'd think for all the money you spendoh well, Have a great night!
This Casino is excellent. It has feel like you are in a town and each restaurant is a different old fashioned building. The Pub was great. The quality of the Flat Iron steak was top notch. Craps tables and roulette were great. The one $5 minimum blackjack table was crowded all night long and I wish there was a second. Overall, great place. Hotel attached was great too.
While the staff was friendly, there were a few small issues. The room was missing some towels, and many of the restaurants were closed without notice. The staff even suggested we try the steak house, but it was closed for the day (Sunday). The movie theater had lots of choices but the bathroom was closed because of plumbing issues. I was directed to the bathroom by the Burger King, which was filthy beyond belief (most toilets covered in diarrhea and clogged.) The casino area was fun, but I wish the non smoking section had decent ventilation. So much cigarette smoke! Most venues don't allow smoking so it was a bit difficult dealing with that. Loved the complimentary soda fountains though. Kept me hydrated as we played quarter slots for a few minutes. Overall, a good time.
Prices at the Buffet are ridiculous, I come here a lot, the truck company I work has a terminal close by, no other choices of restaurants besides Ameristar around the 10 mile radius. I started eating their buffet three years ago, the prices back then were reasonable, around $15 at dinner, now they are at $28, so now paying double the price and the food quality has gotten more worse than it was three years ago. They are now doing crab dinners at $35, I don't eat seafood yet it's the same price, what a scam, greed has no limits and they will keep on raising prices, probably $45 a person in 3 months, some people have so much money they can afford $50 a person to eat, I'm definitely not one of those people. the Friday crab buffet tonight was pack, The cashier today didn't tell me the price before I ran my card, then she handed me my receipt I saw $35, I was very angry, kept it to myself, didn't know they are starting every Friday night crab special, after eating my food, I swore never to come back here again. I tried other restaurants in Ameristar, no luck, just expensive food not worth the price. I tried Great Plains, the cheapest thing they had was hamburger at $15, the hamburger was bad, it had some kind of orange cheese inside that was gross. They have a burger King where you can get a meal under $10, but it's fast food, I try my best to avoid fast food restaurants.
Very beautiful casino boat. Classy. Slot games, table games, poker room. Definite definitive choices for all ages.
Food from flame broiled burgers to pizza to steak, several bars and restaurants to choose from. The only boat in KC that is very kid friendly with a cinema and game room for the little ones.
Separate hotel. Beautiful rooms. Great service throughout.
Nice stay overall. Great food options. Room was ok. Bad water pressure and was very warm in the room, but it was clean and the bed was adequately comfortable. Good location just a short drive to downtown since we were here for a taping of American ninja warrior. Staff was friendly, casino was fun. I'd stay again but request a low floor in hopes that it would stay cooler.
