Great room, clean, and nice staff. They were doing construction the whole time unfortunately. So while everything was great they put us in a room sorrounded by other rooms being worked on. Other than early/loud mornings we would go again. Seems like they will have quite a few new rooms soon!!
My experience with the staff at this hotel was so lovely. I arrived to central downtown Grand Rapids at my initial hotel (different chain) only to find the entire west side of the city was experiencing a power outage. With 6 girls coming in from out of town to celebrate a bride (during Art Prize no less) I was able to call up The Hampton Inn and reserve two rooms on the spot, the woman at the front desk was very sweet and understanding. When we arrived we were able to quickly check-in and even snag connecting rooms! Rooms were the perfect size, had multiple full-length mirrors in each and the bathrooms were big as well.
There were a few issues throughout the night which were not the hotel's fault, but that of other guests. The hotel graciously handled this for my party and even ended up comping our rooms for the all the trouble, this was something we didn't even request! We're all very grateful and will definitely consider this hotel again for the future, despite the fact it's a bit outside the city center.
Stayed at the Hampton Inn one night with my boyfriend and we were treated very well. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was large and clean and the front desk had everything we needed. Plus it is only about 10 minutes outside of the city! It was worth our money.
My fiance and I visited Grand Rapids for Art Prize and the Hampton was incredibly accommodating. Check in an out were easy, the room was beautiful and clean, the building was lovely and they even had a free shuttle service to the city, saving us 30 dollars on Ubers. The staff was helpful when I wasn't feeling well too. I highly recommend staying.
I like Hampton Inns but this one tried to gouge money from me. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Mt Pleasant for $99 and the next night I tried to stay at this one and they wanted $199 for 1 King bed room. There are 2 hotels right next door that were both cheaper $175 and $149 respectively. I stayed at the Holiday Inn express 2 doors down for $50 dollars less and have no complaints about my stay there. $50 dollars may not seem like a lot to you but it is for me, I work hard for my money.
I enjoyed the stay. The noise is very loud and the walls are basically paper thin. The blow dryer would not stay on, there was no alarm clock, and surprised no mini fridge. They did give us a mini fridge which was good. Breakfast they ran out of cream cheese it was also messy and lots going on. The staff was friendly for the most part.
Usual Hampton Inn. Has all the proper amenities for the chain. To rooms a are clean. It's in good a accessible part of the city with lots of shops in the area.
I have stayed in multiple Hampton inns over the past several years. While the staff was all very nice here, the facilities were not up to the typical standard. One of the beds in my double room squeeked loudly whenever I sat or laid on it. And one of the bedside lights had a burnt out light bulb. The business center had only one computer and was out in the middle of the lobby making it difficult to focus for the short amount of work I had to do. On top of that, the rate for this hotel was higher than most Hampton Inn locations. I was not impressed.
Our group was moved from spring Hill to Hampton for a birthday party in a meeting room and the staff were still knot very helpful. Took a long time to get the room ready for us and the front desk attendant simply replied with "I'm at the front desk, what would you like me to do about it?"
The location is excellent for shopping and right off the freeway plus only about 5 minutes from downtown. The service was friendly and everything was clean. Breakfast had lots of options and very helpful staff
Clean and easy accommodation. Room was nicely appointed, TV, coffee machine, etcetera. Nothing too fancy. Bathroom was clean and slightly larger than expected. Bed and pillows were good. Breakfast was normal Continental, waffles, juice, sausage and gravy, yogurt, scrambled eggs, and cereal. Coffee was not something that should be considered. Overall nice stay for work.
