Fantastic first experience buying a Harley Davidson. Jon spent the better part of 3 hours helping me find the perfect bike for a shorter guy (5'5"). After I purchased my bike, I met the entire team at Gails Powersports and even met Gail herself, the owner. The nicest people you could ask for. The following day, a cable came loose, and Kim in service took me in immediately and had me back on the road in 5 minutes. Great service all around. Great family to be a part of.
I had my bike taken to the dealership last week and it was not returned in the same way that it was taken there. They did a good job with the service and the problem that I am having is with an aftermarket radio. I used to like the dealerships and would talk highly of them. I have bought two bikes from them but am thinking about taking my business elsewhere. What I want from any place that I take my business to is to help. I do not feel like I have gotten that. This is not the first time I have felt this way. I feel that water got on the radio causing it not to work. Sadly it's my word against there word.
Thank you to the whole team at Gail’s! We truly appreciate John for his knowledge and patience as we picked out a mower. We were introduced to every part of the team and we couldn’t have felt better about spending our hard earned money with them. Whatever you’re in the market for trust Gails. Right when you walk in you see nothing but smiling faces and someone there to help. Thanks again and we will back for our next purchase!
Outstanding dealer with great customer service! Made me feel very comfortable and the experience was everything I was looking for in buying my first bike. Everyone there was extremely friendly and it was great to see the owner Gail interacting with customers. Free delivery of the bike was a huge bonus! Thank you Jon and the team at Gail's!
Great experience with everybody here! I didn't know what to expect since I'm not a Harley guy and they've always been affiliated until recently. My salesman Jon was great, sales manager was quick and effective and Gail was fun to talk to. Everybody else I met was friendly and in good spirits so I'd have to say give them a try. They have all kinds of inventory so everybody can find something they like.
Yep, it's a stealership. However, have to say they have always shot me straight without a lot of upsale. They have always been keenly interested in my being a happy customer and the one time I wasn't they went quite a ways to make it right. They are highly active with their HOG club so if that's your thing they make stuff happen, from short day rides to three weeks marathons where they ship the bikes to Alaska and ride home. Gail's sponsors many runs every year, the best of which (IMO) is their homegrown 911 runa good time for a great cause. Technicians are great and do quality work. When my bike got hit they went through it with a fine tooted comb, discussed the ramifications of fix or not fixing items, were patient with the third party payment and even let me have my scoot back before the work was paid off. Work was spot on. Yep, it may be a stealership but it's the one I have and will return to time and again.
Best Harley Davidson dealership in the world hands down! Gail is a superstar in our community! It's 5 star spectacular!
They are the most friendly people very willing to help you find what you are looking for. They treat you like family.
We were there for a charity event. The organization and presentation was phenomenal. Gail's has always been a very popular site for fundraising and gatherings. I would definitely love to go back for more charity events and they have a great gift shop.
Best selection of Motorclothes I've seen! Had my size in everything I looked at. And had in stock everything I came to see! Very helpful staff! 😎
Fun place to visit. Purchased my bike at Gail's. Would buy from again but would prefer not to play the salesman games, but it is the game they play.
The most inconsiderate people you will ever meet!!! Never compassionate to those who don't meet their perfect standards! I would like them to know that we all age and that we need to be respectful of everyone no matter what!!!!! Quit discriminating against those who are less fortunate and have disabilities! You all should be ashamed of yourselves!
THREE STRIKES, YOUR OUT! Customer Service Attitude Sucks after the sale.
My experience with Gail’s Harley Davidson has been less than specular.
Over the years I have purchased 3 Harleys and thousands of dollars of accessories so I should be considered a “good” customer, wouldn’t you think? Three MAJOR issues would tell me otherwise.
1) I am retired but volunteer for organizations that service our Military Veterans. Two years ago, I made a formal request for a donation for a homeless Veterans organization. I can understand Gail not being able to donate to every request received but I never heard back from anyone on the status of my request. I made numerous calls inquiring on the status of my request but only received promises that someone would call me back (which never happened). Wouldn’t you think that as a “loyal” customer I would at least get a return phone call? 2) About 1 year ago I purchased a set of Mustang saddle bags for my Harley. I did this through the dealership which cost me about $150 more than I could have purchased them myself directly from Mustang. I purchased them through Gail’s as they won’t install anything unless you purchase items from them. The saddle bags were installed too close to the rear turn signal lights which wore a hole on the covering of the bags. When I took the bike back to Gail’s, I was told “that’s what happens when you buy non-Harley aftermarket parts” and refused to take any responsibility for the issue. Let me add that Gail’s is an authorized Mustang dealer. I ultimately got this fixed through a cycle shop in Liberty at an additional cost to me. 3) Until today It has been over a year since I have set foot in this dealership. It’s time for a routine maintenance on my bike so I used the online service request form for an appointment. I hadn’t heard back for about 5 days so called the dealer. I was informed that the request was never received then set up an appointment for 11:00 am today. I drove to the dealership arriving 15 minutes early. The individual checking ”customers” in was working on paperwork and had me wait for 5 to 10 minutes before he would look up. I told him I had an 11:00 appointment and he said the time I had made was early afternoon, not in the morning. I know I wouldn’t have set up an appointment for the afternoon as I had meetings to attend which would have been in conflict. The attitude I received was “it was my fault not his” and offered no “customer service” to my appeals. I felt as if I wasn’t good enough for Gail’s, certainly left me with the feeling I wasn’t important. Guess what I am saying is that the customer service attitude after the sale isn’t good. Gail, you and I have never met but I have been your customer for 6 or 7 years now. You aren’t the only HD dealer in KC, but you act like it. I want to purchase a new bike this year or next, can you guess who won’t be getting the sale? By the way, the new Indian Motorcycle is looking better all the time and they want my business.
Everytime I come here, I'm always greeted by name from several different employees. And if they don't remember my name, they remember my face and stop to say hi. You don't get that anymore at many places. So many reasons as to why Gail's is the best around, you'd just have to see for yourself
Service dept has a "if it ain't new we don't want to work on it" attitude. Parts department employees can't be bothered to assist waiting customers. I have come to this opinion in my two of three vsits for service and or parts.
On our way to Arkansas, my brother's tire blew out. Gail's Harley-Davidson sent out a trailer LATE in the day to pick up his Street Glide an HOUR away AND kept a couple mechanics after hours to replace his tire.
All of this was above-and-beyond. Still, he wasn't charged extra for the late hours AND they pointed him to a couple of local hotels.
My brother was here from Upstate New York and was reminded why he loves the KC area so much. Gail's REALLY helped him out of a bad spot and we'll both be especially grateful for that.
Lance in sales and Adam in accessories worked to get me the perfect Street Glide at the best price in town. The Gail's HD community is like being part of a great family. I got the VIP package that gives me 3 years of no worry maintenance so I'm set to ride. Thanks Gail's for a great experience in buying my first new bike.
Gail's Harley-Davidson welcomed the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City for an adoption event and the staff there are so nice! I brought my foster dog, Abe, to meet potential adopters. One guy brought us all waters, they offer free hot dogs and chips to everyone there. I wasn't there to buy a bike but I sure was impressed with the dealership and its staff.
