It's bear bones to the core. No air-conditioning. Faulty showers was a problem if you stayed more than a night. However friendly staff and clean toilets, where a redeeming feature. The location cant be beaten. It's pricey for what it is.

For a low budget nice enough, though it lacks in basic hygene. The matresses propably haven't been replaced since the 80's The staff is really friendly and helpful. Never the less I wouldn't go there again.

The worst hostel i've seen in my life. So much expensive (1400€ for 8 peoples in a 10 people room with one bathroom and only 1 window. Bathroom was dirty like the bed (if we can call this a bed). I went to Dam 5 times and i ve never had a bad surprise like that should be forbidden to rent a room like this

Beds are alright, they have pieces of a bathroom and a excellent wifi; that's enough for me, but you shouldn't expect for much more.

Rooms are dirty and breakfast is very poor! Also the price is high for that quality, we can get much better and cheaper. Maybe it's just for it's location which is perfectly in Amsterdam city center and near transportation.

Good rooms, most of the staff were very helpful.
WiFi works well, a little expensive for just a bed. No lockers but they do have a safe room.

The rooms are small, the staircases are steep, there aren't enough power outlets for all guests, and the breakfast is extremely minimal (bread, peanut butter, jam, and Nutella to eat. Coffee to drink). You get what you pay for. It's cheap, and the staff speak English, so it's reasonable.

Outdated hostel with a great location. Worth the weekday prices. Certainly not on the weekends. Slept in the 10 bed dorm at the top. And a 6 bed dorm. The 6 bed dorm was smaller but on the floor closest to the ground level and the beds where more firm then the 10 bed dorm. The best part of the hostel is the common area. Very welcoming after time out in amsterdam with heaps of plugs to charge. Also someone stole about 10 euro worth of groceries including kale ( i mean who steals kale??) So when i needed to keep my bag there for the day they where nice enough to wave the fee for me and allow me to hang out for awhile when i returned at night. Thanks for everything!

Location was great, close to bars and places to eat. But Only one friendly member of staff who we saw in the evenings. The male who we dealt with during the day was very rude and had no time for us. There wasn't a great atmosphere in this hostel. The decor was shabby, our room on the top floor was freezing cold with a draft coming through the window. Blood stains on the shower (which didn't work), bedding was old, mattresses so thin we all left with backache. The "free breakfast" is tea, coffee and bread. No toaster. No cereal. Therefore I wouldn't call this a breakfast.

I had a really positive experience. They had trouble processing my payment but they let me stay anyway and pay the next day in cash. Exactly what you would expect as far as amenities for the price, and the staff was great. Recommended for anyone on a budget looking to have a good time in a great location!
