Great location for Van Gough museum! Exceptional dining room.
Outstanding rooms, concierge services, close to good food (if not dining at the hotel) & easy excess to road & canal paths.

Comfy bed, lovely view. Bath is a good size, which has been really handy because we've done a lot of walking! Staff are polite and friendly and (like everyone in Amsterdam) speak excellent English.

Very well positioned for sightseeing and evening entertainment. Hotel nice, no walk in shower. Lots of steps, not suitable for old or infermed. Staff all helpful, good food.

Pleasant experience overall. Had a very nice bar with a cozy atmosphere, and our room had a decent view over the canal. Loud party boats, poor elevator service and housekeeping waking us up despite a do not disturb sign brought this stay down to 3 stars for me.

Beautiful hotel, the rooms are very comfortable, the staff is great and always there to help you. We have absolutely nothing to complain about this place. When we booked the room we asked for a room with a nice view and they delivered it, we loved our stay there.

Stayed there for 7 weeks on business trip. Amazing hotel which really cares about their guests. Any request or problem was handled immediately by very nice staff and they made sure to compensate any possible discomfort like ongoing roadworks by offering free breakfast or a bottle of vine. Rooms are bit smaller, but very nice and clean and equipped with everything you may need. Location of the hotel is perfect. Just a few steps away from plenty of bars and resteurants where you always find a place to relax after busy day in the office. I can only recommend this amazing place.

Perfect choice! Great room with a balcony on the canal. Loved the area, convenient to all transportation, But, the best was the staff! Concierge David was personable and very helpful even before we arrived via email. Everyone from the front desk to room service were pleasant

Book regular room and got a huge suite on the top floor with huge balcony. The building itself is historic (100+ y.o.). It's interesting to just look at the architecture and interior of the hotel itself, though the room is newly renovated. Good location as well, walking distances to everything, and quiet at night.

Classy funky traditional hotel but also a nice place to visit for just drinks like cocktails or wine inside or on their nice terrace. They also serve nice little snacks to go with those. Very relaxed. Nice staff too.

Convenient location. Friendly staff.
Exterior design is great.
Interior can be renovated. I can hear the wooden floor tweaking every steps I have made. Room is not big but tidy. Not super value for money.

Hampshire American is in a great location for a couple looking for a good weekend. lively square just outside with team links back to central station only 2 minutes walk away. rooms are good and well equipped with all you will need. some overlook the square or canal but door look over the fire escape. Bar read good but not open until 5pm. Didn't eat here as too many other places to try. I would stay here again.
