We paid extra for a room with a canal view, but they gave us a dungeonous room on the first floor. They were able to move us for the second night of our stay. If you're staying here, I'd recommend paying for a canal view room and double checking with them before you arrive.

Nice little hotel in a pretty good location. Close enough to everything to walk or bike easily, but far enough away your not immediately in the midst of everything. Would definitely stay in same area again. Dikker & This is a nice hotel, staff is nice and recognizes you pretty quickly as guests as you come and go thru the city. Our room was pretty simple and the hotel did not seem crowded. We could hear other rooms at certain times, sound seems to echo a bit. But it didnt bother us any, but I know some light sleepers it would probably bother. Good experience overall and would recommend to anyone.

Nice hotel but they make you give your key to the receptionist before you leave, which I found kind of odd. Rooms are nice and tidy. Shower has nice pressure which is a big deal for me after visiting from suburban Italy. Central to all the fun. Overall I'd stay here again and would recommend.

Great location, rooms differ in quality. Was part of a 3 couples group. Our room's size /view/ease of access (additional stairs) varied between the rooms(same category).
The breakfast was excellent and totally worth the money.
    Bed was great.
Standing shower had great pressure and hot water.
    Room was always very clean.
Room. Tips :try and get a room with no stairs (the 2nd floor has 5 rooms that are half a floor above /below).
Staff was super friendly and helpful.

It did not get 5 stars because of the stairs mid floor, drinking water jug in the lobby often being clogged. Would have given 4.5 if i could.

Very close to the museum district and loads of restaurants in the surrounding streets. We were upgraded to the penthouse that has a fabulous view across the varied rooftops to Dam square and beyond. Other rooms overlook the canal. Tram line to the station stops on the bridge next to the hotel

The only con in our staying was the breakfast for additional charge, everything else was perfect

Very elegant hotel. Very clean and spacious rooms. The staff was very welcoming and helpful! Perfect location in the middle of Amsterdam with lots of close cafe's, bars, restaurants and clubs! Beautiful view of the canal from our room too!

Wonderful room on top of the building. Authentic feel. If you got the budget, don't hesitate, that worth it.

Second stay here. Tiny room in an annexe was claustrophobic and dark. Not restful at all. First stay much better. Check where your room is before you go to your room.

A really Charming place in an ideal location in the middle of Amsterdam. Very reasonably priced for a very nice hotel. Also, right across the street from where you can buy very reasonable tickets for tours including Bruges and City tickets for Amsterdam like museums and such.

Hotel was very nicely located overlooking the canal. Room was surprisingly spacious (spacious being a relative term since we just got off a ship). Staff was very professional, provided great suggestions for restaurants and gave great directions for the sites we wanted. They loaned us an adapter for the electric service as well as a converter. Overall, very pleased with the hotel, with the highlight being the third floor canal view.

Beautiful older hotel in a fantastic location. Our room overlooks the canal. Most of the museums are within walking distance, plus it's right next to the tram. Everyone has been very pleasant and helpful. There are loads of restaurants in the area to choose from. Pretty much everyone speaks English.

The stay at the hotel was a present for my husband's birthday. At arrival the reception male staff acknowledged purpose of visiting and wished my husband happy birthday, and we found a small present in the room along with a greeting card. Our room was upgraded to a room with a view over the canal. Our room was beautiful, clean and everything was the way it should be. I couldn't find any faults, everything was perfect with our stay! We are grateful to the staff for spoiling us and making our stay memorable!
