The room we had was beautiful, it over looked the ocean with a hugh bathroom, jacuzzi tub, and living area. The bed was very comfortable, but the fire alarm blinked all night which was slightly annoying. Room service was good and pretty fast. I really enjoyed both the Mexican and French restaurants we're excellent, but expect a LOT of food. We went to the pool side bar nearest the marina and the drinks were good, we didn't get the best service though as we sat with an empty drink and the bar tenders didn't come back around. The servers working on the beach did an excellent job.
We stayed here a few years ago and from what my friends have told me, nothing has changed. This is a good hotel in Cancun: lots of activities, things for kids and a large pool complex.
One major problem with the resort is that it truly feels and looks like a tacky resort, with large multistorey buildings on a narrow strip. If you're looking for a luxurious resort, with private rooms, this is not your hotel.
There's a good selection of nearby water activities and the lively centre with lots of bars and restaurants is within walking distance.

We we're here for a conference and had a wonderful time! The staff was very nice and attentive. The rooms were huge and all faced the ocean. I loved sitting out on the balcony. The beaches had a lot of chairs and the attendants there were fast to get you anything or set up your towels on your beach chair. The food was delicious and felt authentic and my family especially loved dinner at La Joya where we listened to live Mariachi music. Because we were there for a conference, it was all inclusive, and the website says they are normally all inclusive but there were prices everywhere so that was a little confusing. Although family friendly it definitely felt like it was more geared to adults to relax since there wasn't a lot of activities happening. Since I came without kids, I loved it!
Man. I can't Rave enough about this place. Stayed here for a business trip, and went with the all-inclusive option. As with all all inclusive options, nothing we specifically mind-blowing about the food, although I will say that is considerably better than any other all-inclusive hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff you're absolutely blew my mind--never have I stayed anywhere where it truly felt like it was the staffs pleasure to serve you and welcome you as a guest. Everybody was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and committed to providing a great experience from the moment you walked in the door.
The pools and the swim up bar were all fantastic. The beachfront lounging areas definitely a place to try, and the water sports hut had some pretty cool services, including jet skis, kayaks, and stand up paddle boarding.
I will say that the pool surprisingly closes somewhat early, for a reason that I can't quite put my finger on. There is no hot tub to be found and there are some difficulties in getting food into the later dinner hours, as most of the restaurants shut down before the town does. Also, one of the few all-inclusive restaurants I've stayed at where you have to make sure that you make reservations for dinner, or you're likely end up having to take a cab because reservations are full.

Bought a ticket to the resort for our honeymoon - the pools are right by the ocean, both are fantastically warm. We were upgraded to an ocean front room and the view is incredible. We received a $1000 resort credit for various activities, including use of their widely lauded spa on the fourth floor. The rooms are gorgeous but have rock solid floors that get slippery if you keep the balcony doors open. The concierges speak good English and helped us orient ourselves in
This is not a 5 star resort- maybe a 3 star and that is being generous. When I checked into the hotel the front desk gentleman was the most inefficient people I have come in contact with. It took me over 10 minutes to check in. He was on the phone a few times. It was frustrating. He then told me that the hotel has people that welcome you and familiarize yourself with the hotel. I turn around and there is a time share woman waiting to pitch me. REALLY???? I would expect a 5 star hotel to not be harassing you before you even get past the lobby.
My room. I was nice enough. Until I realized that the sprinkler in my ceiling was covered in masking tape. My air conditioning made this HORRIBLE noise that sounded like a child screaming every time it kicked on or off. I had to complain about it three times before the offered to try and move my room.
When I ordered breakfast the next day and was eating at the table in my room I noticed tiny bugs/spiders running around. GROSS. I must say that the room service was very reasonably priced and there was great service.
I wanted ice and asked the bellman when I checked in where the ice machine was located. He went and got it for me. I looked for one on my floor and found one in the hallway with a sign saying it was out of order. It was also out of order on another floor. If you need ice you need to call room service to get it.
They did offer to change my room for my last night. I accepted as I wanted to get some sleep. They also offered me a $100 credit on my account. When I went to check out they had forgotten about the $100 credit. I would have expected on the first complaint that they would have been all over fixing the problem but I felt like no one cared. I asked to speak to the general manager and I did get to speak to someone who claimed to be him but I think he was a manager of the front desk. For the amount of issues I had during my stay they should have offered to comp it or offer me some free days to try to get me to give them another chance to show me their 5 star service. They did not.
This resort was very expensive for the quality you receive. Not sure who rates hotels but either they were really off in this review or this resort's quality and service has declined significantly.
Horrible, horrible customer service. Be careful with dealing with them. The place was beautiful, as expected from a 5-star hotel but the front lobby and even one manager were so rude. They were so rude to the point that I couldn’t believe they have a 5-star rating in the first place. I felt that they were the opposite of helpful. I felt that I was discriminated against and was made to feel inferior to other customers.
When I checked in, they told me my cards were not working, so they asked me to pay in cash. They were not even helpful to me when I wanted to know where the money exchange was. The only helpful people were the room attendants, and other staff who were not dealing with money transactions. I felt that because I was a younger customer compared to their usual clients/customers who could afford the hotel, they were not treating me well. My cards were working fine according to my card company, and so I had to cancel the credit card transaction that they said did not push through.
But at the time of my checkout, they then told me I could not get the same price because I paid in cash, and they would not give me back the excess money they said they would give back the night before because I had paid in cash. They also told me that it will take so much time to change from cash transaction to credit card transaction. I thought it was not even my fault their credit card machine was not working in the first place.
They seemed irritated in dealing with me because I guess I do not look like someone as important as their other customers. If you look like someone who’s important, maybe they will be nice to you. But I feel like because I was not American nor a rich person, I was just someone who wanted my change back, they were being very discriminatory and irritated in handling my issue. I felt like I was fooled by agreeing to pay in cash, and felt disrespected in the way they handled my case. In the end, they did not return the excess money, and they made me feel so inferior to their other customers.
The customer service at this supposedly 5-star hotel ruined my Mexico experience. I wished they would have shown a level of hospitality befitting their high rating. No, not just wished, I expected them to show the level of hospitality befitting their 5-star status.
Hotel staff is nice but we had a little trouble room-wise, our first room had a funny smell and we ended up being moved. The second room ended up not having running water and the a/c didn't work. Our final move we got our current room which was nice, though had a bit of a musty smell, but had running water. Room service is nice, staff for this is also great, though the french toast was a little under done but not bad. Rooms on the West wing, where we have been moved around are nice, if a bit old. Overall not a great experience but the staff has been nice and tried to make it up to us. Location is great for getting around, so that's another plus.

All the staff was professional and very helpful.
Great stay. Exceptional welcoming staff who really take care of their guests. This place has plenty of staff in each department that are always readily available. Very clean and beautiful. The breakfast buffett was wonderful with plenty of choices fresh, hot or cold. They even have a smoothie section for fresh delicious smoothies with plenty of ingredients from fruits, seeds, and greens. Also walking distance from all the clubs and nightlife.
Lovely and very nice. Excellent services.
Amazing view of the ocean, and many pools outside.
I loved the room services food, but not so much with the other food places inside the hotel. Hotel is very fancy and all staff are friendly and helpful.
Long story short hotel beautiful, location great!
* We bought into there Passport discount package and on day two it was stolen from our room.
* air conditioning did not work well in room, asked them to fix it while we were out on excursion (all day) and returned to nothing being fixed. We called down to let them know and they decided to fix it right there and then as we returned ready to bathe and change 😒
* Every morning around 6:30am you can hear chairs being dragged from room above.
* I would of forgave everything but when we were ready to leave and pack up my I phone 7 earphones were missing! 😡😡
I will never stay here again.. nor will I recommend it!
My stay in Cancun was fun.. my family and I had a blast but I would of liked to stay somewhere else.. never again.. smh!
Food and service were excellent. Room was a little outdated, but clean. Every problem or question we had was fixed promptly. We ordered room service a few times, fabulous. Travelers tip:the exercise gym is fantastic, and they provide coffee and fresh fruit, orange juice and water in gym. We used it every day, very clean and wonderful gym. We also had a day at the spa, fantastic experience! Would do that again. The negative is the big deal they make about bringing in outside food, never a problem for us, but didn't want to feel like I had to sneak if I had a bottle of tequila or something. The other is we could hear the neighbors next door pretty easy. The walls may have been thin. Relax and enjoy pool side food and drinks and eat in their restaurants. Food was awesome.
Really enjoy staying at this hotel. Beds are quite comfortable. Food is very good. Location is right where you'd want it to be in Cancun, and despite that, I haven't had a single issue with noise, inside or outside the hotel the few times I've been a guest.
Grand fiesta was a great beachside resort. The most important thing to note is that this a not a party resort; it's mostly older couples and families. The hotel is also very well situated for access to malls, good restaurants and even a grocery store. All of the rooms have great ocean views, and are all nice suites. The beach is the best around, with plenty of seating and convenient showers. The water was very clean, and the raft was a nice touch. The numerous pools are of varying temperature, with several bars and a volleyball net. The food was good but not great, but the prices were good for being inside a resort hotel. Service was always impeccable. We didn't try the spa as it was around $150 or more for a massage. The main draws are the great beach and pool area, and the good base level rooms and service.
Very nice hotel. Great hospitality and service. Had a little issue with the room but they made it right. All the amenities that you could want are just an ask away. Great beach as well, so good we didn't even use the pool. The breakfast buffet is the best. Tried to get in to La Joya to eat but no it was too packed so make reservations. Short walk to other restaurants and bars outside of the hotel. Great experience, would stay here again.
Amazing 5-star resort! Depending on which vacation package you purchased, you may be offered a variety of value-adds in the form of a passport coupon book. From incredibly unique spa experience to tequila tasting session to drink/food coupons, this makes the stay truly worth it. The kidz club is the most thoughtful and organized I've seen at any resort. Finally the pools, beach, and grounds are impeccably kept. A true 5-star experience I'd highly recommend!
We stayed for 3 weeks and it was the most relaxing place ever! Carlos at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful with our needs! The ladies at the concierge desk were always pleasant. I'm sorry to say I forgot the name of the server who is older that works at the french cafe. So helpful and kind.
Every server/employee/doorman was kind and top notch in their job. The pool was were I was every day! Lovely! Enjoyed Elvis and his prompt service by the pool.
I am planning a family vacation back there in 2017.
