Great, friendly staff that are always willing to help! Hands down the best beach in Cancun. No seaweed! We walked all the way to the end of the top of the 7, by Hyatt Ziva, and the beaches were nothing compared to here. They had lots of public areas that I wouldn't have felt safe leaving my things on my beach chair. If you want calm, turquoise waters that you can swim in and float all day, then look no further! I felt safe and didn't feel the need to constantly keep an eye on my things. Lots of activities to keep you busy throughout the day or you can laze on the beach and be left, undisturbed. Tub showers in the rooms need a bit of upgrading and the food was good, not great. We came for the beach so honestly nothing else mattered to us because it was just so perfect! Will definitely come back!

Wonderful sandy beach, shallow water is perfect for kids to play and enjoy the oceanfront. And no stinky seaweeds on the beach! Helpful and friendly staff with very enjoyable evening performances. All amenities very close by and easier to access, unlike very long walks to the beach and your room often found in Mayan Riviera hotels. Very compact and efficient yet not crowded. Good job Dreams Sands team! The preffered oceanfront room is wonderful and is of perfect size for a family of three but you may find it smaller if you have more than two kids compared to Mayan Riviera hotels. Food is decent and has enough variety to entertain for at least several days but all the great Cancun restaurants are nearby if you seek something different. All in all very enjoyable resort!

Beautiful place. Although it is starting to show its age, it is still a very nice hotel. It has a lot of suites that have amazing views of the beach and ocean. My room had a very comfortable bed, all was clean and cozy. Staff clearly cared about my comfort and take pride in what they do. I will stay here again

This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The resort constantly made me feel at home and comfortable. The view was gorgeous, but the best part of the entire vacation was the staff–they were extremely attentive and kind. I want to point out some particular staff membersBrian from Olio and Waves & Sands was so genuine and just great to be around. Eduardo from World Cafe was also wonderful. Gerardo was very caring and accommodating, and Flor was interactive with us. I would love to come back here if I get the chance

We used the preferred club services. The room was clean, comfortable and updated. All staff were very friendly and welcoming.. The food is at least good, but not 5 star. The pool is clean, updated and cool. The beach was clean, with white sand. The water is beautiful, clean with a hard sand bottom. There are many activities to enjoy. VB, kayak, water toys, aerobics, etc. There is jet ski, fishing, and more close by.

Presently here from the UK, pictures and service are meeting all expectations. We are all human and have to remember the physical element to maintain this level of service isn't easy, it's daily inputted efforts and usually what you don't see that makes the difference. We are sat here all inclusive and indulging until our hearts content, and will return next year with family and friends. Another good sign is their are local Mexicans here as well soaking up what this retreat has to offer which spells out a sign of good business. Dreams.what a place backed by great Mexican culture and friendly service at the heart of this resort

Wrong size bed. Had to wait till next day to get a new room. Food was cold at the restaurant. Not enough towels and water in our roomhad to ask daily. Bathroom sucks. Hard to get in and out of tub enclosure due to the glass partisan on one side..plus the glass door into the bathroom is strange. Not too many places to sit around at the pool. Lots of chairs on beach and the drink service was pretty good.

We had an amazing week at Dreams!
The white sandy beach is fantastic, very clean and soft between my toes. The water is warm, with such a gentle surf to float and play.
The service on the beach was hit or miss. Some days they brought drinks as fast as we could enjoy them, while other times we had to take turns hoofing it to the bar.
We enjoyed the food, although some restaurants are consistently better than others. Free flowing drinks didn't seem to bring out the party crowd too much, perhaps because we went in October rather than during Spring Break.
Service was great. The mini bar was restocked daily with plenty of drinks and water. I found that housekeeping was adequate, but they did a better job when I left a daily tip.
They have a water sports area with free access to a Hobie Cat, stand up paddle boards, and kayaks. Jet skis are available for rent.
We inadvertently left a backpack in the lobby when we headed for the airport. The staff was amazing in locating the backpack and putting it in a taxi for us. Their quick action allowed us to make our flights, even if just by the skin of our teeth.
This was our first trip to Cancun, but I don't expect it to be the last. Thanks Dreams, for making this an amazing week. We will certainly be back!response / report this review -

Good food, great staff.Pools, and beach are great. Rooms cleaned quickly and efficiently. Only downside was that there wasn't an option to do something after 1am inside the resort. After all I'm on vacation. They also need to limit small infants being brought into the resort. All day you heard crying babies. Not relaxing.

Great location in the hotel zone and near the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Food is great, drinks are all top shelf. Beach is very nice, though rocky in places. Room was a little dated but still very nice. We booked through Apple Vacations and got a bit of a discount. Lobby bar is strangely hopping.

This is my first review and wanted to give credit to Dream Sands Resort for those whose are looking to stay in the hotel strip of cancun. Highly Recommend!
BEACH: Beautiful, my boyfriend and I walked around to check out other hotels and beaches in the area and Dream Sands has one of the best, little seaweed and calm blue waters.
SERVICE: Excellent, this makes all the difference on vacation. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Loved their attention to detail, for example appetizers on the beach.
FOOD: The food was absolutely amazing, in the U.S. you would have to pay a hefty fee for some of the meals we had every night. They have everything you can possibly want from sushi to french to Italian. All super delicious and presentation beautiful.
CON: The only things I can even think of are larger swim bar area (this is generally crowded) and longer pool hours for night swim. Either way I would definitely stay here again.response / report this review -

Very nice and courteous staff. Pools were ok. Room service is very quick in responding when you call. Beautiful view. They mentioned a 200 credit but I think its just a ploy to get you here. Overall I would recommend staying here if your vacationing.

Came here for vacation with friends. I have only been to Cancun one other time and it was almost 10 years ago. This has been a wonderful experience. There are several restaurants with so many food choices and hanging by the pool is great with the entertainment crew getting people involved or there are tons of other things to do. The hotel is clean and rooms are a very good size. I would definitely come back!

The food was not good. The beach was wonderful and clean. Like a swimming pool. We did not get the preferred service we wee supposed to get. We had to ask for it. The halls of the resort were very hot. No AC. One of my biggest complaints was when I would ask for a screwdriver or anything with orange juice I got orange drink instead. Drinks were terrible. The hotel was old and a little out dated. My husband is 6' 2" and he had to duck to go down the halls. I mean really??? They hound you to go on there 90 minutes time share presentation and then act pissed when you say No. we will probably not be coming back here. Also it is EXTREMELY loud and noisy. Forget going to your room to rest or nap. And don't plan on going to bed til at least 11 pm because of the noise.

Had an amazing time here!!! We were here for 6 days and just got back yesterday and wish I was back! The staff was so friendly and great.
The only compliant I do have is the bar outside the pool/in font of the beach,Barracuda bar, I went with a bunch of my friends who were Caucasian, they were always served first and I had to wait to always be served last. I also was always first and ended up having to wait ten mins more once while the guys served other Caucasian people that were not my friends. Even my friends wonder what was going on since they also had to wait for me even though I was always first,they would put me first in hopes to get out of their quicker,didn't work. It happened to me 3 times after the 3rd time I stopped going to them and went to the pool bar(Manatees Bar, Shout out to the older man and young girl(who was training) for their superb work) and they were sooo much better and friendly, they got all my tips for their excellent service. Please talk to the staff in the bar outside the pool and teach them how to serve people who get their first, not because of their race and who they think will give more tip, that was the only bad experience I had. I will still give them 5 stars because the rest of the staff were AMAZING. The beach views were beautiful too. The room service food was so great and flavorful. Also the 7 restaurants were all so yummy and great! The chefs and staff really love their job, you can tell by the way their food was cooked and their service. We were given a sub-par room at first. Our AC wasn't cooling and we ended up getting switched to another room, higher up and with working AC, for no extra charge. We loved that you didn't have to make a reservation for the restaurants. We were very happy with the choices and service. We only visited the main buffet twice and weren't super impressed We have been to better at other resorts. We LOVED the little cafe on the beach (located in between the pools). We ate breakfast and lunch there nearly everyday we were there. The coffee shop had fun crepes. The resort is laid out a little weird and a little tired, but it was a great stay all around. Night time entertainment was wonderful. All four of us in my family enjoyed it. The main pool was perfect for my kids since they could both touch the whole length of the pool. It's the little things like that which made our stay special.
Don't "claim your voucher" (or whatever they call it) for your free gift. They try to sell you a time share and it's a huge waste of time. I heard (and saw) people waste nearly a whole day being dragged around to different resorts to buy a time share. They don't take NO for an answer. When we were there a lady told us that she begged to be taken back to their resort but the time share people weren't very cooperative. I felt so bad for her She said she felt like she had been kidnapped! So, moral of the story: Don't do any of the "resort credit" blah-blah-blah VIP services stuff.response / report this review -

Was there for one week, all-inclusive. Man, it was perfect. Staff was amazing, weather was amazing, food was quite good too. Room was clean and spacious and the evening program entertaining. Perfect relaxation. Big shout out to Enrique in the Preferred Club area!!!

First time in this resort and I beyond loved it! Employees never had a frown on their face always so nice! Theres so much stuff to do! They have plenty of activities through out the day everything was clean i loved my room. The drinks are amazing the food is great 7 different restaurants to choose from! Food service is 24 hrs. I have no doubt I will be back in this beautiful resort! Thank you for an amazing vacation me and my family who also had a wedding there had a blast ! Thank you!
