It's absolutely elegant. I have been here many times before and it's always a pleasure. The cast members are attentive and helpful, the restaurant food is exquisite. I always enjoy every visit. I am a local to Orlando but lots of my friends stay at both the Swan and Dolphin. It really is such a pretty property.
Very dated. Wait staff and room service staff was rude. Staff entered room two days early stating they thought we was checking out. I made sure to lock up everything just in case he was coming to steal. None of the hot tubs worked (2 tubs jets was broken and 1 was like bath water for a toddler). The food was overpriced. Plus not a Disney property. Its owned by Marriott. Disney needs to take their name off this property. Giving them a bad reputation.
First, the Resort is beautiful. Decor is classy and everything is clean, from the lobby to the guest rooms. The staff at the resort is extremely helpful and friendly. The guest room is very nice. It should be noted that as of this posting, the Resort is not linked to the magic bands for entry into your room. I will definitely consider staying at this resort again on future Disney vacations.
Conveniently located across a small bridge from The Swan, where we are staying. The Dolphin has some great amenities and even greater staff. We had breakfast at Pikabu before going to the parks today. It was great! Among the expected options, I was pleasantly surprised to have a large selection of hot sauces. Will definitely be back tomorrow!
The location of the hotel is amazing and the hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are a little dated. The beds are full sized not queen, so it's somewhat uncomfortable to fit two people. We had some issues with our sink not draining but everything was addressed and fixed right away. Overall a nice place to stay and I would return but I would opt for a king sized bed and a balcony to make the stay worth the money.
Checking in at 4:30 pm took almost 45 minutes. That's far longer than every other Disney resort we've stayed at. That being said everything was booked so obviously it was high volume. I will mention the line was entirely full of convention attendees. Having a 3 year old is not fun in a line like that. Room was nice. Stayed a few years ago and had a better experience because we had a king bed. This time was doubles which shouldn't be an option for this hotel. Staff was very friendly. Amenities will bring us back soon. Overall a great experience.
I stayed at the Dolphin resort as I was attending a conference. With that being said, although it is a Disney-labeled hotel, the look and feel were not as Disney themed like other Disney properties. If you have kids, that's something to keep it mind, however, they do have character dining on the property. The lobby was great as it had 2 large TVs playing professional sports with a bar and plenty of seating. The conference halls were very well managed. The catered food was actually pretty good as well. The rooms seem a little dated and small, especially if you bring your family but other than that, they are your standard hotel rooms. The staff was great and catered to your needs and the restaurant options were surprisingly vast. You can walk to the Boardwalk as well. And here's my Ironing Set Review (for business travelers). The Ironing Board (9 out of 10): Large board, good fabric, allowed for smooth ironing. The Iron (9 out of 10): One of the best irons I've used in a hotel. It was clean (no hard water stains), steam functionality was superb, and heated up super quick. Along with the board, it was one of the best sets I've got to use.
Great hotel! Fantastic pool area with water slide! Disney buses stop here making transportation easy. The water taxi to Disney Boardwalk was awesome! There is even character dining at their Garden Grove restaurant. Rooms were decent size. We'll most likely stay here again!
Bell hop staff entirely ignored us on check-in (all 3 of us dragging heavy bags past idle workers). Maid service was an “either/or” ordeal with about a 50/50 rate on whether the beds were made-up or the bathroom restocked - a couple days saw half done and not the other! Disney ticket desk attendant was sarcastic with a customer right in front of me. Broadly disappointed with quality of stay.
I paid for a few levels of room upgrade (a nightly rate which landed on par with my last stay at the Ritz) which netted us a small room with a tiny balcony and a mediocre view on the lowest possible floor. Don't believe any of the "Deluxe" or "Grand" marketing!
Massive construction (including a scaffold in the main entrance that *fell* into the walking path immediately after we’d crossed) added to the disappointment.
The only positives were the proximity and easy access to Disney and an excellent set of pools. Not exactly features exclusive to this hotel.
Have recommended to several friends that they avoid the Dolphin & Swan locations and look at other Disney resorts. Really an embarrassment to the Disney brand.
It was on my bucket list, and now I can check that off! Though it is a considered "luxury" hotel, I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are expecting Disney quality service and atmosphere. We spent three nights here on a prepaid deal, or else I probably would have left after night one. We were greeted with an almost forced coersion to valet parking, unfriendly demeanor at check-in desk, and general absence of anyone willing to assist you, other than housekeeping, who went out of their way to assist with any request. Housekeeping wins all the awards in this review as well as the contemporary/modern decor theme, if that's what they were going for. Also, immaculate grounds and exterior.
We stayed at this resort for 6 days. The hotel is very nice outside with many pools and waterfalls near. Top quality hotel for business people, conferences/conventions. Great transportation to Disney Parks with boats and buses. However the fitness center was disappointing with little equipment for the size of the resort. Overall the location and the views made it worth the money.
Location, location, location. The Swan and Dolphin are right next to many Disney properties, but walking distance from Epcot, the Boardwalk and other nearby attractions. The rooms are standard. Even renovated rooms are nice and clean, but nothing extravagant. The pool area is nice with several options and lots of on-site or nearby restaurant options. I didn't give a 5 a star review because while nice it's not extravagant and for the lobby renovations which seem annoying for what I can see going on behind the curtains. Perhaps if I didn't have to walk around them several times a day I wouldn't be so bothered by the lobby renovations.
Very iconic site. Coffee shop had great choices. The pools are magnificent. But why do they charge over $20 for parking. It's not that there is limited space. Or is it that they don't charge enough for food and lodging. Next time I'll use my Disney season pass, and park for FREE at Epcot and take the Free boat ride to this location. Or choose any of many other properties in the area that don't gouge their customers.
