Simply beautiful. The room we had was amazing very spacious and much better than the Hyatt Union Square hotel down the road. I’ve stayed at both and I will definitely pick the W New York anytime. Great staff and just an all round friendly and enjoyable hotel
Resusturant service was good. However restroom was filthy, also if you’re not going to clean it all week please don’t get black toilets! Also the bathroom was against the law by not being accessible for people with disabilities! Down two flights of stairs!
Absolutely perfect location and a highly efficient operation at the hotel. No complaints. Styling of the room and decor was not my tastetoo trendy, but nevertheless, room was spacious for NYC. Bed was comfortable and and shower was great.
W is a decent hotel and if the price was lower it should be a solid 4. But for this price I usually expect more from W hotels. But it's clean and the location is amazing.
Booked a week in advance which caused problems because supposedly they only store payment information for so long. Was told the room was ready before the issue and upon discovery of said issue it became that the room was not going to be ready for some time. Overall decent hotel with a few professional employees. Room had a good size stain, but other than that it was nice albeit for the price I have been in much larger and nicer rooms; of course that was expected given the location.
We found a deal online, but we had to call directly to the hotel because there was a custom request. We called W New York - Union Square to make a reservation for 2 rooms and 3 nights. We have an autistic son and we need connecting rooms. The person who took the call found the special rate that we found online for one of the rooms and we found a better rate for the other room with the NYU rate. Once in the hotel, we found out that he made both reservations with the NYU rate which was $50 more expensive per night in the other room. Also, the rooms were not even in the same floor, then they managed to find one in the same floor but not connecting, not even close. Not coming back and I do not recommend this hotel, but in the case you have to, then be careful when you make the reservation and double check that they send you the reservation with the correct rate and any special request noted in the confirmation.
Nice hotel. We picked due to the location next to union Square. When we checked in the clerk said that she gave us an upgraded room. Not to sure what that meant as the room was fairly basic, but nice. Desk staff was nice. Concierge was helpful. Mini bar prices were ridiculous, $8 for the bottle of water in the bathroom, $9 for the bottle ft to the bed. There is a CVS next door that has the same water for $2.
Fantastic location right on Union Square. Modern, nicely appointed rooms are well-maintained. There's only a tiny lobby here, and rooms are on the small side. Their suites are small as well but housekeeping will make couches into extra beds so you can fit a small family somewhat comfortably. No coffee/tea makers in the rooms (why???) but there is coffee in the lobby (no tea, no decaf tho).
It is always tough judging hotels in New York. Like many the W in Union Square is an older building and the rooms are fairly small, not like but again par for the course. Decor is nice, beds comfortable, water pressure amazing and proximity to all the great things that had you looking in this area to begin with are all there.
Great staff! Amazing place with some antique structure. Really love it. And great restaurant and drink my favorite is the Union Square Spritz from the Irvington . Great location!
Pretty good location, provides a comfortable stay. Not rating 5 stars because they have items in the room for purchase and the prices are in fine print. Otherwise, highly recommended!
I was not staying at the hotel, but I was meeting a guest there for a few hours meeting in the lobby. The lobby seating area was small but comfortable. They location was great and extremely easy to get to from the subway, as well as plenty of space outside to be dropped off by taxi. We had to order drinks from the bar and then bring those drinks out to the seating area ourselves which was a bit inconvenient, and it was much more so when we require second and third drinks and one of us had to leave our meeting to return 10 minutes later with drinks. However, bar prices were reasonable for a hotel, the drinks selection was good, the seating area was comfortable (though small). Overall 4 stars worthy.
The hotel is very nice. It's not over the top amazing. But the service is phenomenal. The staff does a great job at saying YES and making you feel value for what you pay. There is not a great lobby for sitting or enjoying a drink. There is a gym, it is very small. The location is great, next to a whole foods and a subway station.
