Nine times out of ten my visits are good there . Staff is friendly usually on their game . But sometimes the product not so good . But i have been a loyal customer for over 10 years now and will remain as one .
Very happy with my experience. Tim and the entire team exceeded my expectations in helping me make my purchase. Thank you!
Nice local bike shop. Once you enter, an staff member approaches you to help answer any questions and guide you in the right directions. Pretty large but there was a lack of inventory when I went due to the COVID rush of bike purchases.
This place is the best for finding the right bike for you. They have superior service and really are knowledgeable in their products. Will patronize them again for future cycling needs!
Very speedy, friendly and professional! Went in near closing with a flat tire and they fixed it really quickly while also just generally being a pleasant bunch of people. Couldn't recommend enough 🙏
I could not have been happier with the service these guys gave us. From answering beginner questions to explaining things I didn't know I needed to check, these guys are great. I highly recommend this shop if you are looking to purchase a new bike. Thanks for making my purchase hassle free!!
Spent a month reading blogs before deciding on a bike. Wound up at Village Cycle as they had the best price, hands down.
Price and selection is how I️ found them, but the service was stellar. Friendly, great attitudes, definitely a customer focused experience.
Highly recommended.
While I have never visited, I ordered a set of tires online and some tire levers. They had the tires i needed at a reasonable price so that gets them 3 stars. Then the tires arrived quickly (4th star), but the levers were missing. "Mistakes happen," I thought, so I called them to let them know the situation. Adam, the sales associate answered the phone, was very professional and friendly and immediately said "we will send some out first thing and have them to you by next week." Awesome. He clearly understands the sales adage that it's not what happens, it's what you do about it. Then I got a call about 10 minutes later from the manager saying that the levers actually shipped from a different warehouse and would arrive soon. (That honestly may have been communicated via email to me, but my week has been so crazy I haven't paid attention to those emails. So probably my bad!) I appreciate how everything was handled, though, which is why I am reviewing them and giving them 5 stars. In the age of Amazon and automation it was great to get humans who cared about the business and who were set on making the situation right no questions asked. Please support this and other local bike shops that put customers concerns first.
I had a flat and went to another bike shop in River North for replacement tubes. After attempting to install the new tube, I was convinced I got the wrong size. I took it back to the original shop and said I thought I got the wrong size, as it seemed way to big for the wheel. I was then basically laughed out of the store. I went back home and tried for another 20 minutes to get the tube inserted properly, but still was convinced I had the wrong size. I was frustrated. I was angry. I felt like I had no choice but to bring the bike into that other store and have them do it
Until I decided to call Village Cycle and get their opinion. Upon calling Village Cycle I was promptly connected to Jake, who gave me a few pointers over the phone. I hung up, followed Jake's advice and boom! New tube installed and I'm ready to ride again!
Now anyone could've done this, but Jake wasn't mean to me about it or talk down to me. He was professional, nice, and took the time to hear me out and understand my problem. Village Cycle just won a customer today, and I will never go back to that other store despite it being closer to where I live.
Thanks again, Jake!
Stopped in mid ride due to a low tire pressure. They took care of me right away, and pumped up the bike. They even gave me some wheel air caps. I learned so much about my road bike from the knowledgeable Steve.
I'd certainly buy my next bike from these guys.
I had a really good experience there today. The sales associate was very professional and not pushy at all. I was looking for a good mountain bike at a reasonable budget. I ended up purchasing a 2016 Trek Marlin 6 at a really decent price. They threw in 3(!) FREE maintenance services at over $180 worth. Not to mention the bike was ready to go in about 1 hour on 4th of July weekend. Really impressed with these guys. Highly recommended!
From the outside, this looks like a little boutique shop. Then you walk inside and the selection, service and pricing is amazing.
I've never seen a bike store so busy, but they still give you the attention you need. Jake was knowledgeable and walked me through the whole process. Will recommend to others.
