I have traveled by train from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale four times this year as an alternative to driving. Yes it is a little more time for the train but less stressful and cheaper than fuel. Granted trains can run late due to unforeseen circumstances. Having read other posts where people say they wish they were informed of these delays. People do your homework. There is an app you can put on your phone that you can use to check status, also they will text you status update. Don't blame Amtrak they give you all the tools to stay informed. They do their very best to offer a good experience for train travel. I have had a two hour late departure and timely departure , but deal with it. Where else can you be going 60 miles and hour and get up and stretch or use the bathroom, take nap, not in a car. Enjoy the experience it can be fun if you let it. Thank you Amtrak

Come on, why do you have to blame Amtrak on being late and saying they should never be in business??? They said that a small % of delays is their fault while almost all of them are because of freight trains Silver service is delayed by CSX and NS. California Zephyr is delayed by Union Pacific and BNSF. I can just deal with it. Expect all transit options to be delayed (buses, trains, airplanes, etc)

The station itself is ok. However the trian service is HORRIBLE, always late with no status updates. Can't believe Amtrak is still in business!

Easily accessible, no wait. Departure scheduled for 10:30am, arrived at 10:01, waited 5 minutes to be checked inthat was easy. Personnel staff was pleasant.

Beautiful historic building, clean threw out including bathrooms, kind workers and security officers and plenty of seating room inside and out. I go to this station and ride the train at least twice a year and I have never had a problem except one and that's all the people smoking before they get on the train. We all have to get in lines to get on the train and the smokers do not care about the others who don't smoke or can't be around smoke. I have severe COPD and because of that and the smokers/smoke I have to get on the train very last because I have to stay away from the smoke. I always end up getting the worst seat but I never complained about it till now. I just wish Amtrak would not allow smoking outside the trains while people are boarding or unboarding. Other then that, this place is great! Well kept and it is beautiful. 🙂🚉

When I arrived to the station, the ticket was double what it claimed online. $96 vs. $44. On top of that, the train was late- first I was told it would arrive at 1:20 (originally scheduled to leave 12:37pm).it EVENTUALLY arrived at 1:50pm. Then, another train had an accident and caused another "1-3 hour delay" per the train attendant. The train was supposed to arrive at 5:58pm.we didnt arrive to Miami until almost 8:45!!! Almost THREE HOURS LATE! When I asked the attendant who I could talk to, he blurted out the 800 number by heart (clearly this train gets a lot of complaints). And he said "you should yell as much as you want"clearly sarcasm because when I did call- speaking calmly about the situation- I was told there was absolute 100% nothing they can do to amend the three hour hold up, because when I bought the ticket the tenent had told me the train was already running late (by 30 min). Now I don't know about you- I'm ok with a 30 min hold up- what I'm not ok with is getting in 3 hours late. For the time it took Amtrak I could have drive to Miami and back again. NOT OK. Amtrak Customer service- NOT OK!

Best experience . Purchased a ticket online for my mom but when I arrived at the station I was told she needed a wheelchair seat . Nadine ( I think that was her name ) made a call and arraigned for her seating to be fixed . And David was also very nice and helpful . The whole experience was great . Will difinately be returning to this station .

I've enjoyed nearly all my trips taking the Sliver Line back and forth to Jacksonville. Wonderful conductors and staff bother ways! Only one time was there an issue. It was a hot day abs we had to sit on a train with no ac. We got through it though. Hadn't happened since.
