The Tropicana seems to be an older hotel and seems to have all the amenities one would expect a hotel casino to have.
The main issue most of us had was that staying the other tower (Club Tower) means you have to walk a quarter mile to the entrance and exit. Secondly, the casino is still allows smoking, so whether you stay in the closer entranced Paradise Tower or the Club Tower, you end up smelling like smoke. So if you're here on real business (not business and play), this hotel may not be the one for you.
There is a door closer to the Club Tower, but during my stay, it was roped off to guests. I ended up having to leave the hotel early because I didn't want to attend meetings smelling like a casino.
Also, they don't have refrigerators or microwaves, so I would say this is strictly a weekender hotel.response / report this review -

Decent. Good value for Money. It is old and you can feel it. No fridge/coffee maker in room, and they charge you 30$/day for each if you ask for it, which is a total ripoff. That is after they charge you 37$ per day as resort charges on top of the stuff you already paid, which is another way to rip you off. Was provided with just two towels, no shower cap. Also, no curtains in the room, so good luck if you need dark to sleep. The windows are not soundproof and you can hear planes all night. Doesn't feel like a 4 star. More like a 3 star. The casino was not a good experience. The dealers were rude, as if they were doing us a favor by dealing. The cost is good so that is one plus point. Overall, a good value for money.

Cheap and cheerful, if a little run down. Does everything required of a strip casino and hotel. I paid a little extra for a high room in the main tower, which was totally worth it. Colleague moved rooms due to strong smell of tobacco smoke, and ended up in the second block a good 100m from the main area.
Hotel is handy for the main strip, and it's easy to walk over to the MGM and onwards. A bit noisy due to the large intersection outside, but you'll get that anywhere.
Cost to location ratio is good, but beware one of the higher resort fees on the strip!response / report this review -

Great hotel and location, without breaking your budget. Room was clean. We stayed in Club tower with city view. It was quiet because it was away from casino area. It was a long walk from the parking lot to our room. I would not recommend this building if you have trouble walking at great length. However, you may want to stay in Paradise Tower. The building is closest to the entrance and parking lot, but more noisy since it is next to casino. Beach Cafe had great food! The Laugh Factory is a great place if you enjoy comedy!

The hotel great location on the strip. All of the staff are wonderful and the security team that helped me get back to my room when I was very weak on my own birthday did a great job. Great housekeeping staff yes they do have late night staff. The front desk did a great job checking me in to my room. Great view of the mountains I loved the view. I give the hotel an A+

Really nicely redone but the Casino was too brightly lit and Pool set up was crowded and weird. Felt like we were right on top of everyone else while laying by the pool.
Room service cheeseburgers were amazing!!! Staff was friendly and helpful. However, do NOT eat at the main floor cafeteria. Horrible, salty, tasteless breakfast sandwiches. I could do better on an open fire in the woods.response / report this review -

Basic accommodations like bed and bathroom. Decent hotel if you're looking for a place to sleep and will be elsewhere all day. No bells and whistles. Just comfortable with the bare necessities. Friendly staff.

Nice remodel of this iconic property. Had a meal at the Robert Irvine Public House. Great food, friendly servers. It was very busy for a Sunday due to a concert in the area. However, Valet parking was smooth and quick. Will go back to this property. Over heard a table of 4 next to us at dinner. They were staying at the hotel and talking about how nice it was. Even played slots and came out a couple of dollars ahead. Check out the Tropicana on your next Vegas trip.

We love the Tropicana it is the best hotel that we have found in Las Vegas. They have a great lounge with free entertainment on Friday and Saturday. The Laugh Factory is located there and always has great comedians. The rooms are comfortable and always feel fresh. The property is a nice size not too big not too small we always seem to win at the casino we love it there. Plus a new restaurant Robert Irvine's Public House just moved in so that is also another reason to visit Tropicana.

Nice hotel, spacious rooms, no fridge. Good beds and pillows. Bridge access to Excalibur and New York. Easy access to the free tram. Nice mix of slot machines, but not the most "young" crowd you will see. Good price point and location to the mgm and others if you are looking for a cheaper hotel with all the amenities. Pool is nice.

Let's start with the good: The staff was warm, welcoming and helpful. Not good: It's just an old hotel and despite attempts to update it, you can see the age. Even in the "club tower" that was supposed to be nicer, the age is apparent, you can see where they have painted over old stuff, the electrical outlets are loose or hanging out from the wall. Under the bathroom counter, there was a gum wrapper and a cover to a razor. The shower had hair in it when I got there. There are better choices than this hotel.

Tired oh so very tired.. I bet this place was great and swanky in its day. Unfortunately that time has passed and the current caretakers appear to be lazy. Painted over bamboo trim and dead decor don't really hit you until you visit the neighboring properties. Best thing about the Tropicana is how close it is to New York New York. At least there you have some food choices and real bars. The staff at reception are in old outfits that are stained and dirty. If you stay here just take a look at the coat cuff of the people checking you in. It will set the tone and should set your expectations made me sad and even more to know this is a Doubletree. Don't get me wrong older places are great when they are cared for. Plenty of examples all over Florida.

I'm not giving a rating just yet, our trip to Vegas is next month. But this place holds a lot of memories for me. My uncle was the casino manager for this hotel/casino. We stayed here a few times and I remember it being a nice place,fun and clean, it sucks they no longer have the water slide. I use to spend hours in the pool. I hope the good reviews I read are true to their word. I'll give another review after our trip.

Lovely hotel, really nice rooms with comfortable beds and furnishings. Got given 2 small bottles of water per day which is good. Pool very nice but closed at 5pm (opens til 7pm later in May) which is very early when it's 30°+ until late at night. It would have been nice to have a dip after a day exploring Vegas but we couldn't get back in time for it to be worth it, such a shame.

We went to Biscayne steakhouse. Typical price for high end steakhouse (40-55 for an a la carte steak). Very clean restaurant, friendly staff, and great food. The seared scallops were slightly gritty, but the chat and flavor were wonderful. Steaks were large and cooked to the perfect temperature. All around a very good experience for a high end steakhouse.
