The location is outside of Vegas. They have awesome shrimp cocktails for cheap and a chill environment. They also have some cool cars inside.

We just stopped here along the way. It's sad how far the quality of this place has fallen. Half of the casino floor is now taken by a classic car exhibition and it looks like what was once a small buffet has been roped off to be a staff dining area. The cocktail waitress station was shut down and even the water fountain next to it was disconnected. They didn't even have a craps table. The only real plus was that they had coin slot machines, but even that was ruined by the fact that it took dollar coins. If it took quarters I would have played it some.

Went the Their STEAK HOUSE for Thanksgiving Dinner, with family & friends. Waiter (Vlad) took very good care of us and the meal was Great! Chef even came out to wish all the diners, a Happy Holiday. Not only was the meal great, it was priced right, too. And we didn't have to fight the crowd's in Las Vegas.

I like the fact that you can play very freely and quietly with not too many people. They need a few little small up grades I know it's an old casino but a few up grades would make it great. On the black jack table the dealer has to shuffle all the cards by hand which takes a long time. It would be nice if they put in a card shuffler

Stopped by here on the way to Vegas. The gaming floor is small and is mostly taken up by the property's movie car collection, which is worth taking the time to walk through if you have some time to spare. The casino, though quite rundown, still has an old Nevada charm about it, successfully maintaining its roots to the Nevada of yesteryear.

Stick-house was excellent! very classy, food was excellent. they serve the steak on a hot plate with fresh vegetables cooked just right, and the hot plate kept the food warm. their garlic mashed potatoes were very tasty!

I was driving through Vegas and had to stop here for the night. The appearance of it is beautiful! The casino part gorgeous, but the rooms though. We got the non-smoking; walk in and it has this eternal stench. The carpet has clearly not been washed in a very long time.. there was grime in the bathroom and worst of all there was lipstick on my pillow This place might want to look into doing a sweep through and clean this place from floor to ceiling. The Dennys however was very nice and clean the workers were friendly and very attentive.

    DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
First off, I reserved a king bed no smoking room- was reassured multiples times when I checked in that I was getting a king bed. Got to the room and it was two Queens. Being overly tired, I decided just to go ahead and keep the room the mattresses were harder than a rock. The TV remote didn't even control the TV.. the showers were made for someone 4 ft tall, with no water pressure. The elevators and hallways smelled terrible! In the middle of the night our air conditioning quit working and then at about 3am somebody tried breaking in to our room. When we talked with staff at checkout they said there was no manager on duty and that you can reserve a room but you are not guaranteed your preference and that they would look into our complaints but didn't offer anything to make it better. I would not recommended anybody staying here.

Found this place just by the advertisement on the highway. We decided to stop. Glad we did. The staff was friendly, the hotel itself was clean, and comfortable. The rooms were affordable. We dined at Denny's the first night and our server Jacinda was so friendly. She was very patient with us, as we were a party of 5(myself, husband, and three of our kids). Whatever we needed she brought it rite out, and never changed words with us. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM HER. Even the lady who checked us in was friendly(would've given her name but, unfortunately we didn't get it). All around everyone in the Casino was friendly. My husband wants to return for his birthday in two weeks.

Clean, well put together rooms. Good prices. Not much for a few miles around the casino. But overall a good price for new renovated rooms

It was an amazing place. It had so much fun things to do for the kids. Although it's a little small it's a good hotel. Also I loved the movie cars, go check it out!

I got a deal off of Expedia for a night stay + breakfast at Denny's. Check in line took more than 15 minutes; not because the registration line was long, but because the three workers talking to each other behind the desk were to busy to help customers. My non smoking room smelled like smoke. My room's floor was damp for some reason. Of the two elevators they only had one working. Bed and bathroom we're serviceable. Overall, this hotel was your typical casino hotel.

Last time we stayed we had a great room we were pleasantly surprised and service was great. This time around it was bad from the start. Checked in requesting a double bed room and when we got to the room no double beds. When back down to check in desk and we were given another room. This time there was no electricity in the room except the restroom. They sent up electrician who tried to fix the issue but was unsuccessful. So we got moved to another room which was a suite. It would have been fine but there was a roach in the restroom. This trip we were so disappointed with this hotel.

Gold Strike Hotel is a great place to stay. Easily accessible from the highway, clean rooms, affordable rates, nice hot tub, and huge pool.

I'm not about the Vegas scene, but this hotel offers a little bit of Vegas without all the ruckus.

The casino and food were also excellent. I will absolutely stay here again on my way to and from California on my next road trip.
