Great location. Liz, the concierge was wonderful!! Rooms were clean and spacious with high ceilings. Great view from 12th floor room. I will definitely come back. :)

Lovely hotel in a great neighborhood. The staff was friendly and the lobby and rooms were very clean. Front desk was helpful and check in was quick and painless! I would definitely stay again!

Wonderful iconic and tranquil Hotel. Wonderful staff and attendants with great attitudes and a zest for helping is clients. Love is close proximity to all the spots of interest, including Shake Shack. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here.

Worst customer service I have ever received at a hotel. We have been loyal guests of this hotel for years. We stayed here and the AC in our room did not work, blowing warm stale air. A kind staff person came up and agreed with us it was not operating, suggesting we contact the manager "for some kind of comp arrangement." We informed the manager, at the staff suggestion, only to be treated disrespectfully, with a hostile tone and accusatory suggestions, claiming that we should have contacted them earlier, essentially interrogating me with questions like "did you or did you not tell us yesterday about this problem? No? Well then there is nothing we can do for you." When I asked why that was relevant she said "I asked you a question! Yes or no! Did you or did you not complain about this issue yesterday?!" What the heck? Somehow the manager felt that since we had not made complaint before a certain point, that our complaint was not valid. I would highly recommend you find better accommodations nearby. I have to assume there has been a change of management as the staff here has been a delight on our many, many previous stays.

Very convenient to the Beacon Theater and a variety of restaurants. Recently renovated, our room was tastefully appointed and being away from the street, quiet.

To give a frame of reference, the standard room was big enough for a queen bed, dresser and flat screen but not a mini-fridge. Plus a full bath with excellent water pressure and hot water. A nice feature was the free room safe.

Staff had a few miscues but nothing ruinous. Would stay again if I need a decent place on the upper West side.

Out of all of the hotels I stayed at this trip, I enjoyed the Lucerne the most. I was exhausted aftter taking the overnight bus, arriving at 5 am. Despite the heat and humidity, I made the trek to the hotel from Port Authority hoping that we could check in early. After walking for 45 minutes, carrying my luggage with my clothes sticking to us, I was done; making a terrible first day of our vacation. When we got to the hotel, I was able to check in about 10 hrs early. It saved the first day of my vacation, and I will forever be grateful.

The hotel staff were always courteous by saying good morning or welcome back whenever I exited or returned to the hotel. My only complaint would be that the rooms were a little small. I was staying in a two double bed room and there wasn't much room for anything else in it.

I definitely enjoyed my stay at the Lucerne and would choose it over a hotel near Times Square in a heartbeat.

My girlfriend and I spent a few nights in NYC. I chose the Lucerne based on the location and the positive reviews. We were impressed with the hotel. Front desk staff were great. Liz the concierge was very helpful and quite knowledgeable. Our room was very clean, housekeeping was great and we enjoyed the doormen service (nice touch as it was very much like the hotels way back in the day). The short walking distance to the subway was perfect. We would definitely come back to this hotel, on our next visit again to NYC.

What are the three most important elements in the hospitality industry? Service. Service. Service. In a time when trendy, chic, hotels get all the attention in New York City, basic warmth and service are not considered a priority. This grand dame may be a bit dated, and the furnishings a bit worn; but I'd pick this hotel over the trendy spots every time. As a frequent traveler, there's nothing more important than hospitality and service. So if service is a priority for you, The Lucerne is one of the finest hotels you'll find in New York City!

Liked the place very much. Went to ColumbiaU for an event and it's cool to be set up at this snuggly place. Decor on the old side but everything looked and smelled super clean. What a blessing for my sensitive nose. Friendly staff too.

The service is nice and friendly, they'll help you with anything you need it's a pretty good hotel to stay at it's close to attractions but not to close. I do have to say the rooms a pretty small and the tragic outside all night long is annoying and keeps you up.

I had an inner room with no view, but it was clean and the location was perfect for me and what I wanted to do. HOWEVER, throughout my 3 night stay there was a constant "clicking/knocking" noise in the corner of my room. After the first night when it was evident the noise was not going to let up, I called the front desk to notify them about the noise and to inquire about moving to another room. The front desk person told me the noise was due to the pipes knocking, and then he preempted my request to move by telling me the noise was "throughout the entire hotel." If that was the truth (and possibly the result of the snow storm) that's fine but I don't expect that in a room that cost me a base rate of $228 per night. Be warned!

Nice hotel on the upper west side. Close to Central Park, museums, Lincoln Center and great local restaurants. Comfortable rooms - very pleasant stay. Subway is at 79th Street. Couldn't be more convenient.

Chris at the front desk was awesome! The hotel was full, but he did everything he could to get us an early check-in. The rest of the staff is very attentive and courteous. Definitely on my list of hotels to stay when I visit New York and the UWS.
