Great location. Reasonable size room and cleanliness. I had a charge on my card that was not supposed to be there and could not get anyone to respond to calls for well over a week.
Stayed overnight in a regular room, it was small, pretty spartan and wasn't super clean. Management was very kind and accommodating and got us a cleaner room. NYLO is probably the best hotel option on the UWS, but there are better and cheaper option in nearby neighborhoods.
Comfortable safe clean reasonable hotel on uws. Accessible to 1,2,3 and a and c trainsI’ve stayed here more than a dozen times and is one of best choices in area. Be prepared-
Rooms vary in size from quite large to shoebox size and some have odd shapes but are comfortable. Check- in and front desk staff vary considerably - have had fantastic and awful service depending on who it is. When I’ve complained I’ve gotten free drink tickets.
The rooms are clean and have a modern feel to them, they are a little smaller then an average hotel room. It doesn't come with a mini fridge or a microwave. The bed also didn't have a fitted sheet on it, instead they just folded a flat sheet around it, which was kind of strange, in my opinion. The service was nice and welcoming, however they are very slow moving. We asked for a crib and after a few hours had to call and ask again then after another hour they brought it. The lobby has a nicer club feel to it. They have music almost every night we were there. They also give you two free drinks when you check in to your room! Also if your a light sleeper you might want to re think this. The walls are a little thin, we heard our neighbors talking on the phone pretty clearly. Also or window faced a fire department, so during the night we could here the sirens. But playing white noise on your phone drouns it all out. I did love the location, nice clean neighborhood next to Central Park and a Subway line!
This is a very fun place to stay in the upper west side. Very cute rooms and a fun atmosphere. Plus all the rooms are hypoallergenic by default, a huge plus if you have a down allergy!
Very clean. Love the place. Staff will assist in anyway they can. Very quiet. Everything was great overall from the staff to the breakfast foods.
Nice decor and the service is good. The cleanliness could have been slightly improved, but was still to a good standard. It is pricey for what you get, but I guess that's NYC. The room we stayed in had a fantastic view over the Hudson and was just a short walk to central park, so location was great. Red farm Chinese restaurant is I think co owned and next door and was delicious.
Love the NYLO! I stay at this hotel every time I'm in New York because it is a wonderful location and the staff are excellent! Lenny, Alberto and Orlando meet you when you arrive and ensure you have whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable! Carlos at guest services is extreme accommodating when it comes to any reservation requests. I was just in NYC for a girls trip and the NYLO treated us like family! Connie the manager made sure our stay was top service as always! I highly recommend this hotel for its location to Central Park and the subway, and for its many amenities! Well worth the stay!!
This was a swanky hotel in the Upper West side of New York. It has a great location with many bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Central Park and about a 30 minute walk to attractions near Time Square. The subway is nearby we just opted to walk. We loved the chic atmosphere with the bar and style of room. We had a terrace room, which had a beautiful view of the city. We do wish that there was a little more privacy as there is no privacy between terraces. Also, the picture online for the terrace room showed the corner room, so note that the rest of the terrace rooms have a smaller balcony. Valet was reasonably priced $25/night, but would recommend getting drinks at a different bar. A couple of complaints - customer service was a touch cold and wifi was technically not free. Overall, great place and price for the amenities and location!!
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around
Great vibe, comfortable, just-the-right amount of people in lobby, and live music Thursday night was the perfect way to unwind. Staff don't were uniforms - it took me a few minutes to figure out these weren't hotel guests that were so nice🙃 Stay in NYC 2x a month. NYLO staff create a wonderful hotel experience very responsive and quick resolution when there was an unexpected problem in my room.
NYLO was just a few blocks down from the 72nd metro station and 2 blocks away from the natural history museum/central park. The hotel itself was very classy from having a doorman who opens the door and getting a ticket for a complimentary drink once checking in. The room had hard wood floor and was more spacious than most the hotels I've seen in NYC. The room came with complimentary coffee and water along with the regular toiletries. Super comfortable bed which could be troublesome for people who need to get to places. Staff was helpful and polite. Overall great stay.
Nice little hotel for the money. Good location and fun crowd. Rooms are clean and the bed was really comfy! Would recommend it if you aren't looking for a 5 star place.
This was a wonderful hotel choice. The staff was friendly, helpful and engaging. Our room was clean and had all the amenities as a large hotel. The front was warm and inviting with a great continental breakfast in the morning and a wine cocktail hour in the afternoon by the fireplace.
A special thank you to Susan Bernstein for tickets to Birdland and advice on where to dine. We enjoyed the show and appreciated your hospitality.
Hope to see you soon. Bob & Cathy, Ogunquit, Maine
NYLO is a nice hotel but good luck if you need a change of towels!
It's in an amazing location in the Upper West Side, and is a modern and attractive hotel.
The one downside? My wife and I had to call down and ask in person to literally three or four different people before we got a change of clean towels. Somehow we had missed our regularly scheduled room clean/towel change, and as a result we waited for about an hour and a half to get new, clean towels.
Not a big deal, but annoying considering the hotel put me back about $900 for three nights
I have never taken the time to write a review, but this place is beyond amazing. Staff are extremly friendly. Drinks are awesome. And even the location is great. Words cannot explain the friendly atmosphere that the staff show to their guests. The rooms look amazing as well.
