My wife and I had a fantastic stay. We were there for our 2nd anniversary and the rooms were clean. The staff were pleasant and the beds were comfortable. We were even given a free upgrade.
Staff was great. Room was awesome. Location is fantastic. For the price you cant beat it. Would've given it a 5 star but wifi wasn't free!
I've stayed in quite a few hotels, so believe me when I say that the Fairfax is amazing. The rooms are very spacious for a hotel that charges as much as it does. I went during Christmas time and the hotel was decorated and felt so cozy coming back from being out in the cold. There is a piano in the lobby area that I was able to sit at and play some carols with my family. It is in a great spot in DC and every Uber/Lyft driver I called had no problem finding it. Overall, a great place to stay right in the middle of a good busy spot in DC.
Nice hotel, good location, friendly staff, comfortable bed. But there were many things that needed upkeep. Our bathroom was freezing because the window wouldn't shut, then didn't insulate so well anyway. Our shower drained slow so you stood in a puddle. There are no drawers for clothes. No free WiFi. This hotel wants to be top-notch but falls short.
Sharp service, nice large rooms; GREAT location, nice English style bar on the first floor. No restaurant for dinner, but they have a buffet breakfast which is fine but pricey; sit in Nancy Reagan's booth overlooking the hood; nice horse art; note all rooms here have a beige yellow décor, for me and others the yellow is too bright and hard to be restful, also ask for a quiet room in the back, the hotel is on busy Mass Ave and there is lots of noise. Great staff and they will remember you if you return a second time or more---I do.
Decent hotel aside from the fact that when I was awoken at 5am to the ceiling falling down in the room and water pouring into the room I was provided no compensation. I found out later the room upstairs had clogged their toilet which means the water pouring onto my head and suitcase was less than sanitary. While I was packing up to evacuate the room, plaster continued to fall from the ceiling nearly missing my head.
While I understand this issue was out of the hotel's control, I was given a smaller room for the rest of the stay and charged the same rate. There was no compensation aside from the verbal condolences of the staff. When I asked the staff during checkout I was told there was no "incidentals" on the room. Overall the lack of responsibility taken by The Fairfax at Embassy Row seems to be a theme. Their website states that they had recent security breach and customer data (credit card information, user's information) was exposed. Seems like there is a theme from The Fairfax of not taking responsibility. Just a heads up if you are looking to stay here.
Great hotel to stay at with nice decor. Rooms are clean and the staff of nice. The bed and sheets are good quality. I would recommend staying here if you like a hotel with classic style.
A nice clean quaint hotel, well located for metro. Very impressed with the room which was spacious and comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful. Definitely would return. Would say though that some of the maintenance needs to be attended to.
Room was great. Beds were comfortable and clean. We got it at discount but the normal rate was a little pricey. Charge for valet was a little extravagant as well. No complaints about the hotel itself. But service could've been a tad bit better.
Q, at the front desk, is a positively delightful person. Warm and engaging would describe her best. We talked and had a good conversation while I checked in. She checked me in early to boot. Def set the tone for my start which is phenomenal. The room is gorgeous and has a beautiful view. Bed is comfy and ask around great stay
My friends and I shared a room at The Fairfax for a weekend trip. The beds were very comfortable and the location was very close to the Dupont Circle metro stop. We'll absolutely stay here again.
Loved their exterior and interior design of the hotel. So classic, posh, and lobby staffs (front desk, doorman) provides good service with friendly manner. Would be nice to set bathrobes, bath-salt, paper-bags, and in-room slippers. Great neighbours to look around!
A really beautiful building in the heart of D.C. Drive up and valet will take care of the rest. Each staff member is professional offering their services without hesitation. The room was clean, tidy and spacious. Bathroom and shower were large and in exellent condition. Water was hot and smelled fresh - not of chlorine! For the price you get what you payed for and . Would recommend and stay again.
Good location in nice quiet area that's quite central. Rooms are nice and spacious - although best to leave a lamp on when you leave the room at night because no light switch next to the door. Friendly staff, spent a good time with us recommending different restaurant options. Would definitely stay at again.
