Nice hotel, close to night life places. They host a free happy hour and is a great way to start your evening! A little far from the tourist attractions, but not so far that is not doable, either walking or lyft!
Visited a friend who was staying here. The employees are so nice and the atmosphere is great. Her room was awesome as well. I'll definitely stay here in the future
It's clean and comfortable! Good location! The toilet/shower is kind of small. There's a bit of noise from the elevator.
Very helpful staff, clean, and at a great location. If you stay on a weekend and are a light sleeper, you may want to ask for a room that is not facing the back. One of the houses there had large parties both nights, with about 50 people (college students?) in the back yard drinking and screaming until the early morning hours.
Difficult to pull in for valet parking. No doorman or valet to greet you upon arrival. Comfortable bed, good location. Small bathroom and the toilet made a loud noise periodically. Could smell weed through the a/c vent from another room. Other guests seemed startled that they we're sharing a hotel with our dogs.
It wasn't as good as it looked in the photos. But, the free food was great! But there was little space, and you could here the room right next to yours very clearly. But the food was very good. I didn't get the chance to go to the pool, but, I would think that the water would be as think as the walls.
Paid for my reservation through a third party site. Get home and notice $38.50 charge on my card and $24.05 charge. Call and talk to accounting She was very nice and helpful, but she couldn't figure out where the $38.50 charge came from or why it was charged and agreed to refund it. The other charge is a "hotel charge" that they supposedly charge everyone who books through a 3rd party site. Problem is, I don't recall being told about this fee at check-in or check-out. And adding $24 PER NIGHT to your bill pretty much is a deal breaker for me. I reiterated that there were no overt or plain disclosures of the fee and I considered that terrible customer service. After speaking with the GM, accounting agreed to refund this fee too. My room was clean and well-decorated. The bed was comfortable, but the shower was weak and tepid. In sum: After 2 blatant money grabs, I doubt I will book a stay at this Kimpton property, and doubtful about any others.
Very nice hotel. Me and my whole family visited Washington DC and had 2 rooms in this hotel.
The rooms were clean, service was good.
Be careful if you arrive with a car: Parking is all over Washington DC very very expensive and so it is in the Kimpton hotel (but I can fully understand that).
Recommendation!
Really wonderful and accommodating hotel. Great price and great deals available, good location, clean and impressive rooms, fully stocked, and especially great service. They will go out of their way without question to get you what you need. I really appreciate the friendly staff and the hotel itself.
Comfortable and clean rooms with their own unique style. Excellent service. Close enough to walk to various different tourists sites.
Also, great for business. A solid desk and comfortable chairs. Good lighting, fast WIFI, and plenty of plugs.
The not much of a view if that is what you're looking for.
First off do not believe the advertised "Free Parking". All they had was valet parking which was $48 per vehicle! My husband and I each had our own vehicle which was the whole reason I chose this place. To avoid parking fees.
Then, we were woken up at 7AM by some sort of work going on right outside our window! No sleeping in for us.
The hotel clerk at the front desk, Patrick, began to give us a refund for the parking once I showed him the advertisement but then changed his mind because he said he had already clearly told us that valet was all they had when we got there. Even had the audacity to question my integrity and acted like I was trying to snake money away. So rude.
There were a couple little other things that wouldn't have been a big deal on their own but with everything else, we've just had it. Never staying here again and do not recommend it. And if you do deal with anyone other than Patrick if you can.
P. S. As a follow up, I attempted to contact the manager through the corporate side of Kimpton and they didn't even have the decency to reply. It's been over 2 months so I guess they decided to just let it slide. Plus they still have the advertised free parking.
I went with a good friend to the restaraunt Firefly on the first floor. It had a great cozy atmosphere and the happy hour prices were reasonable, even for the cocktails. I can see myself coming here again, especially to try the food.
Fantastic boutique hotel . Truly a gem of a find. Comfy bed. Awesome location and loved wine hour. Terrific way to connect with other travellers. Shared great insight with fellow guests of great food places and sites to see and running options. Staff very personable . Very fond of our doorman. Very caring attitude .
