The Off the Record bar had great ambiance and tasty drinks. My guest and I enjoyed dessert (the cookies!) as well. I'll definitely be visiting again.
We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at the Top of the Hay at the Hay-Adams hotel. The view completely speaks for itself and you’d be hard pressed to find a better wedding venue in DC. But the true quality of the Hay-Adams extends well beyond the view. The staff is knowledgeable and communicative and are more than happy to tailor to all of your specific needs, as a bride planning her wedding from abroad I couldn’t have asked for a better team. There was a wide variety of meals options to choose from and was perfectly prepared.
We were jammed into a small conference room which was not really suitable for the purpose. Staff were pleasant and refreshment were of a high standard. But I think they need to make sure that their conference rooms are suitable for the purpose.
My co workers visited the Hay Adams for brunch one day while we were in town for a conference. The food was amazing and experience was everything I expected and more. Would definitely come back here next time I am in DC.
I visited the Off The Record bar in the afternoon for a late lunch and drinks. I ordered the Pear martini and lobster mac and cheese, my partner ordered a whiskey cocktail and the steak, as well as a slice of s'mores cheesecake. Both drinks and dessert were great, if a little pricey. I really enjoyed the lobster mac and cheese, there was a generous amount of lobster. However, he ordered his steak medium rare and it came out nearly well done. He chose not to send it back, but we were disappointed that such an expensive steak was improperly cooked. The restaurant was clean and we'll decorated, and the service was good. However, we probably won't return due to the overcooked food and overpriced cocktails.
I made reservations here for a quick anniversary get away with my wife. From the time that we arrived, the staff could not do enough to make our stay wonderful. We were provided a refrigerator in our room so that my wife could store milk (she is pumping for our 7 month old). In addition, upon learning the reason for our stay, we were surprised with a wonderful note from the hotel accompanying two glasses of champagne, fruit and chocolates. In addition, the room and accommodations were beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Can't say enough. Best of the best. We've stayed at 5 star hotels throughout the world but the Hay is our home away from home. Thank you Marina for taking such good care of us.
I highly recommend the Hay-Adams hotel for a couple of reasons. The food was magnificent as well as the wine and fine dinning. The hospitality and service was superb. Also, the views were absolutely gorgeous. Overlooking the white house and city was beautiful. Not to mention the hotel itself, which extravigent decor as well as marvoulous Victorian style detail. If you have time while visiting D.C. take look at the Hay-Adams Hotel.
The hotel itself is a visual masterpiece with an unrivaled view of the whote house and Lafayette park. Dinner portions were dissapointingly small, but the cocktails were generous and delicious. Service was a bit slow.

Attended an event on the top floor overlooking the White House and the Mall. The event was impeccably attended to by the staff. They were both welcoming and accommodating and provided an exemplary level of service to all attendees. The view from the Hay Adams is also second to none in the entire city, it's worth noting that when you watch shows on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News they literally broadcast from the rooftop of the building next door because of the amazing overlook. Absolutely worth taking advantage of if you ever get the chance to attend anything on the ninth floor of the Hay Adams.
We stopped by here to have some cocktails with some friends in the downstairs bar, Off the Record. It was a great place to cool down and hang out. Music was a good quiet level and the drinks were absolutely amazing. The only downside was the price, it was like $18 a cocktail. I would visit again
