Located in the heart of downtown San Diego I believe off of 1st Ave. My room was located on the 5th floor and had a very nice lobby and decor, even with a piano! I play a little bit and was welcomed to feel free to play until it was my time to checkout. Parking is NOT covered with any stay which was almost a deal breaker for me, honestly. You'd be better off finding another public parking and pay a lot less if you don't mind a short walk.

Spent a week in San Diego and had an amazing time at this hotel! The staff was very friendly, great amenities, and they took very good care of us on our entire stay. I also loved the price of the stay was super reasonable right in the Gaslamp Quarter. Highly recommend it!

Rooms are great. Staff were all super friendly and seemed to take pride in working there. Bar has a decent happy hour but not much in the way of food. Comfy lobby.

I give this hotel. 5 star recognition. Excellent service crew. Really cozy, clean, spacious room. The rooms have the latest tech amenities available. Hotel is walking distance from the mall, the Midway carrier and the gas lamp district. Overall I highly recommend the Bristol Hotel to anyone visiting downtown San Diego.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice. The bed was comfortable and there was a huge tv. Walking distance to Gaslamp. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Great experience!

Had a enjoyable one night stay at the Bristol. The hotel was clean and modern with great service. The room was on the smaller side, but well appointed. Valet parking was convenient, especially with in and out privileges, but you pay half the price if you have a hybrid vehicle. The location couldn't have been better. We walked to the gaslamp and Horton plaza, were steps from the Civic center and close to seaport village but without the noise of being right in the thick of things. I would definitely stay again.

Room, and entire hotel, looked like it was recently remodeled. Is within walking distance of great restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.

** Almost forgot .. The Bristol is very dog friendly and they took the time to design the rooms & furniture for both dog and owner!

A little overpriced. They don't give you a fridge unless you ask for one and we had a rude man at the front desk. And parking was $36 a night. Beautiful room and atmosphere, though, and great location. We were able to walk to most places that we wanted to go to.

The hotel has an acceptable standard and decent beds. Our room (505) felt quite humid when we checked in but it seems to improve after the first night. The AC rattle a bit (by no means deafening but a little annoying). The fitness room was a disappointment. It was more of a recreational room. One treadmill, one bike, a nordic walk, a few dumbbells (max 15lbs), a mat and a yoga ball.

Valet parking at $36 was a bit steep so we parked 500m up the street for 12.

I wish we did more research about the area. It felt a little unsafe with lots of homeless persons.

    TERRIBLE.DO NOT STAY HERE.

I came here for a nice weekend getaway, for some rest and relaxation, but instead left very TIRED, frustrated and angry. There was construction happening on the street and the hotel didn't even care to warn us about the noise that we should have been expecting, which is very sneaky on their end. Instead they gave us a room that was facing the street construction with walls as thin as paper and no sound proof windows. We dealt with jack hammers, drilling, and constant noise all through the night on top of people shouting. After calling and complaining, they didn't offer any options for moving rooms but instead responded in a passive aggressive tone and told me to just try to sleep. To add on to that, our sink was clogged the second we checked in and our toilet flusher wasn't working properly. Maintenance didn't even bother to come and fix it when we complained, instead we were ignored and left to deal with their awful services.

Upon checkout, they offered no compensation and just apologized as they apparently weren't aware of any construction that was going to be happening. The manager didn't even care to speak to us when we constantly asked. We had to beg for some sort of discount which didn't even match up to what we had to deal with.

I would highly recommend another hotel in the downtown area as the management at Bristol Hotel isn't concerned about their customer's stay and could care less. I know city construction cannot be controlled, but that is not the underlying issue. It's about the hotel being honest with what their customers regarding what they will be dealing with and compensating them for their terrible experience - rather than giving a canned response and charging full price for something we weren't willing to pay for.

Great new remodeling, however could use a little QC before opening up rooms. For example nowhere to plug coffee machine from where they store it, remote doesn't fully function (could be mine), bathroom sink was leaking. But otherwise good improvements like an in room tablet personalized with your name and a huge new Samsung TV.

A short walk from the train station. Rooms were large and the coffee in the room was great. Some floors being renovated, but no noise at night. Beds comfortable and bathrooms a good size. Amenities good, but a small fitness centre. Helpful staff.

UPDATE: Marisol, the manager at the Bristol called me to help fix the price difference. She was so kind and helpful and even helped me change my dates:) Thank you Marisol for your hard work. I will be changing my 3 star review to a 4 star!! can't wait to stay st the Bristol. I am a person who LOVES to give reviews! After all, I depend on reviews when traveling so I feel it necessary to share my travel experiences as well for others to read. After searching, what seems to feel like 100 hotels, I decided to stay at the Bristol. This will be my first time visiting San Diego. I'm giving this hotel 3 stars right now but will reevaluate my stay after my vacation is over. My only complaint (concern) so far is, I called about 2 pm to inquire pricing. The gentleman I spoke with gave me a total price for 5 nights of $1,093. That was including valet parking which is an extra $32.00/night. I wanted to research a few more hotels so I told the gentleman helping me I would call back. I called back several hours later and spoke with a different representative, and the pricing he gave me for the same stay was $1,110. He indicated that because it was my first time to San Diego, the hotel would comp the parking fee. So, my issue so far how come my initial quote was $1093 included parking and 4 hours later my quote is now $1,110 (with comped parking)? I'm still willing to give it a shot and stay at the Bristol, however I am a little concerned. I will be posting a full review after my stay.

The staff were helpful, friendly and kind. The room was clean and quite comfortable but there isn't a restaurant, only a small bar just off the lobby, or even a small fridge in the room so that you could make small purchases and keep them cold, but the hotel is close to 7/11, and food at the Corner Bakery is delicious. No swimming pool either. I enjoyed my short stay overall, and would be interested to see the updates thar The Bristol is making.
