Clean and comfortable. There is social mixer events during the week that are unique. I would definitely stay here again.
Our family of six just stayed here for a week due to some home renovations. The staff was very friendly.
The two bedroom suite was spacious with a nicely equipped kitchen. The room was cleaned well each day. Morning breakfast is nicely done and higher quality than most. The staff maintaining the eating area kept it very clean all week. Overall a nice home away from home.
Room had a musty smell. One employee on the evening and overnight shift, seriously??? Why would you only have one employee when the majority of your guests are at your property? The girl at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful but I had to wait 10 minutes at the front desk because she was so busy having to run around filling guest requests. Management/franchise owner needs to reconsider how they staff this hotel.
This is a WONDERFUL place to stay! DO NOT STAY anywhere else. From the incredible breakfast buffet (Brie cheese & grapes!) To the evening social, all is warm, and IOWA- INVITING. A Big THANK YOU to Lakeshia & Paddles, Marriott should be very proud of these " going out of their way" employees. We could not be any more impressed with the Residence Inn, Marriott, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
My wife and I stayed there during a heavy snow week. We enjoyed it, the room was clean and the staff was attentive. My only quips were, the first day the hot tub was unusable due to "chemical" issues and it took 24+ hours to fix (not a big deal). The second was that the eggs in the morning (awesome large breakfasts) were very runny, I understand everyone likes their eggs cooked different ways, but myself and a few of the others thought they were extra watery. Other than those things, I thought the stay was great for the price. Oh, they also serve beer and wine socials at night too, which was an extra bonus!
Room was decent, thought the price was hiked over $100 extra a night and the pull out couch was terrible. Breakfast was a standard continental breakfast with some hot food and pastries.
Nice room decor, thermostat controlled hearing and cooling in the room, daily breakfast and three nightly social hours a week with snacks and drinks.
If I could give this a negative star rating, I would. I checked into the hotel property shorty after 4 pm. I went back to my car at 8 pm to notice that it had been hit by another car. My driver's side front and back door had huge dents and scratches along it. I brought this to the attention of the front desk. One associate said that they had cameras but she doesn't know how to look at them to look back at them. Another said that she'd show them how. Then the general manager said that they aren't responsible for anything that happens in their parking lot. There are no signs in the parking lot or outside the property that say this, I did record it. I called the police and filed a police report. Then, I after, I asked for a copy of the Marriott report, so there would be record from the hotel that my car was damaged on their property. The front desk associate used profanity, telling me that "your car was damaged, but you're ok..get the F over it." On a side note, while the police was at the property making the claim, the desk associate told the police officer not to ticket anyone parked in handicap because the parking lot was full, and the employees were parking there.IN THE HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES. They don't have enough parking for their property. Then, the hotel was flooding, and they were sending guests to other properties. The hotel was an absolute hot mess. Then, after I got to my room and called customer care and was given a different story from them. I was asked to leave the hotel property for making guests "feel uncomfortable" because I called the police and guests didn't feel safe. I stayed at this hotel property for a little over 4 hours, my car has over $2,000 worth of damage and I had to pay 15,000 Marriott Rewards Points for this stay. This hotel is atrocious. Do not stay here.
We've come here 3 times from Washington state to visit family and love it. The staff is so friendly the rooms are nice.
Have stayed here several times while visiting family, every time the staff has been courteous and friendly.
The room was great and the location was just off the interstate. The employees were nice and the breakfast was good.
Nice and friendly hotel. Very clean and spacious. Breakfast was great, too! Everyone was very polite and helpful. If there was one minor nitpick, it was the temperature of the pool. It quite literally took your breath away it was so cold. It was definitely one of the coldest pools I have ever been in. Granted, there is also a nice hot tub adjacent to it. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars!
Stayed with two young children. Set up was great and we were all able to sleep! Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. Wish the rooms were a little cleaner. Definitely would stay here again.
Very nice large rooms. Clean and modern. Full kitchen (large fridge, stove top, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher) good full breakfast and free beer and wine in the evening! friendly staff
Nice rooms, not much near the location.
Good service and room quality, don't forget their breakfast.
Beer served in a pitcher. No idea what it is and was flat. Hotel is simply okay
They are always great at the residence Inn cedar rapids. The service and little extras go a long way. Plus I like being in place that feels like an apartment when I work at my corporate office for the week. My stay last week was even friendlier than usual. They gave me extra goodies for bring a Marriott rewards member and they even called me a little while after I got to my room to make sure everything was up to expectation. They are my favorite place to stay.
