Robert was our server; he was efficient, friendly and professional. The wine he suggested was excellent and the food was delicious. My husband ordered one of the specials; squid black ink infused pasta with mussels, shrimp, calamari, clams and grouper - the pasta and grouper were the stars - it was all delicious. I had the Freebird Chicken and it also was delicious. The surroundings were pleasant and relaxing. The staff was friendly and professional. The food was delicious and not overpriced. All in all an excellent choice for dinner. We would go back.

This is a restaurant helmed by a high level chef that gives you a dining experience of a more classical day; its every part delicious and pleasant. Staffed by serious service industry professionals.

I like the bar, a nice U shape that promotes a congenial atmosphere for cocktails. A nice Happy Hour menu with small plates and drinks.
This is an upscale long-time locally owned restaurant, with a committed staff, good service, with creative dining choices.

We just attended the Benziger/Niman Ranch Scholarship Fundraiser dinner at Mattison's 41 where we were feted to six absolutely fabulous courses paired with outstanding wine and stellar service. I have to say it was the best evening out my wife and I have shared in many years (our own stellar company as a couple aside). As my children would say"We had a blast!".

A retired hospitality industry senior executive, I have often heard that a full service destination restaurant's success is due primarily to three things: location, location, location! I must respectfully disagree. Though I find location can be a bonus, I believe a successful restaurant is like a fire in that you need three elements to succeed. To have a fire you need a source of fuel, oxygen and heat; take away any of the three and the fire fails. A successful restaurant needs good food, good service and a nice atmosphere - take away any of the three and the restaurant fails. Location is definitely a bonus but if know of a restaurant like Mattison's 41 you will gladly drive a half hour like we did.

This place is on fire and Chef/Owner Paul Mattison has a home run here! He's having another Winemaker dinner in August and we will be there. Hope to meet you then!

My lunch group went to Mattson 41 today at my suggestion. Our waitress Mae was very professional and patient with my group. I had suggested the roast beef reconstructed and three of us ordered it. We all agreed that it was way way too salty. We should have sent it back but we didn't. In this day and age where so many people are watching their salt intake, they need to rethink this dish.

We started off with crab cake appetizers, which were absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and a both ordered soups, his was great (French onion) I ordered tomato bisque and tasted like ketchup. Next was our entrees, the prime rib was delicious but my lobster risotto was again ketchup and I had to use a knife to cut the lobster, very chewy. As far as food goes it was blah to say the least except the crab cakes, but the service was terrible! Shouldn't have to wait 5 minutes for water!
