Great views, romantic, cozy setting. Excellent service. Calamari a little salty, fish and grits decent. Extensive wine list. First time there, would go back.
There's so many places to eat in the area, many of them great. Ophelia's is above and beyond the great expectations. We went on a Sunday night and it was still fairly busy, but we were able to get a table outside with a reservation. We had a really cool view of the intercoastal. The outside setting is very nice and not loud or disruptive.
Our server was great. He was very lighthearted and knew the menu very well. He recommended the tuna for me as the "best tuna you've had in your life". Naturally, I was very skeptical as stating something to be the "best" is very bold. It was one of the best tuna dishes I have ever had. Every bite was delicious and I would highly recommend it.
Don't skip out on this restaurant. We will definitely be going back.
Great restaurant. Wonderful food and attentive service in a delightful setting by the water. Seafood is the specialty but most entrees are very good. Usually crowded so reservations a must. Parking nearby very tough so use the valet for parking in the front lot.
Very pleasant & delicious restaurant with a beautiful view out over the water (the bay).
Service was friendly and great, though prices are high.
Parking is extremely limited, such that you'll probably need to use their valet parking (cost= tip).
A good place for a special night out.
Based on a single visit, I found it very good. They were running a three course prix fixe menu that was supposed to have ended earlier in the summer and, for the price, it was a very good value. Like at many restaurants in Sarasota, the price of wine seems very high compared to what we pay in the northeast, where the markup tends to be "only" 200% above retail.
Always Really Good. If you are looking for a 'special event' restaurant, or ust want a great meal in beautiful surroundings, there is no better choice in the Sarasota Area. Wine List is good, but could be better. And the price is pretty steep. But I'm happy to eat here any time I get the chance
I made reservations here to celebrate my Boyfriend's birthday and from the moment we stepped in, we were treated like royalty. Derek makes a mean Old Fashioned at the bar if that is your thing! Very knowledgeable staff! And the food was amazing, the bread and butter is to die for! I want to take a moment and give special acknowledgement to Les for going above and beyond to make our day experience extra special! Give this man a hug!
Unfortunately, we did not have nearly as nearly positive of an experience as other people have had on here. While I'm sure the food could have been great, we didn't even make it to the point of ordering food due to the poor service that we received. Even with a reservation for about a month for our wedding anniversary, we were told that we could not sit at any of the multiple open tables along the window unless we wanted to wait for over an hour (one of the tables was a 2-top, so the seat next umber efficiency didn't even make sense as an excuse). After being sat, we waited almost 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by our waitress (an "I'll be right with you") and then waited another 5 minutes before deciding that this service/restaurant was not worth the $200+ check (food and alcohol) that we were expecting when we decided to go there for our anniversary. Leaving a restaurant after being sat is something that I have literally never done prior to this, but seeing another group walk in with no reservation, get sat along the windows, and have their drinks on their table before we had been greeted was enough to be pretty frustrating. This could certainly have been an anomaly and might be very out of character for this restaurant and their staff, but it certainly put a damper on the evening. Luckily, we were able to find a restaurant in Siesta Village that treated us great and salvaged the evening.
Nice atmosphere beautiful view of the Bay. Food was ok, little pricey. Service was good, attentive and caring.
Romantic. Place to bring a date, anniversaries etc.
Was absolutely great. Atmosphere was really good. The attention top notch. Very elegantly prepared food with flavor and flare. Five stars.
Ophelia's was a very enjoyable night out. The food was prepared well and the view was worth the drive down. Service was solid. Meals and drinks for 2 range from $85 to $150 on average.
What an amazing dinner! The food, wine, service and the view incredible. Don't wait for a special occasion, this is a must - dine spot in Sarasota.
Have been here for a wedding. Very nice place. Back room little small for that many people. Services was great. Food pretty good
