The only problem I could see with this hotel is poor accessibility for someone who would have a difficult time navigating the many stair, but even in that case, I overheard a complaint from a guest that his wife could not go up that many steps, and the staff quickly worked to get them a room in lower level. As far as cleanliness, I felt it was just as clean as any other hotel I had stayed in with no signs of any pests. Also wifi was very quick to use, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. AS far as the distance from down town Manhattan, it is not even a 10 minute commute from the 1 subway, which is 3 blocks away to the north, or 6 blocks away to the south for the express subway line. The only difference is a $32 Mta pass that will take you anywhere you want, and its just a $25 to $30 dollar cab fare after a late late night outing.

We visited as a last minute decision and we very very pleased. I had read other reviews which panned this place and so did my 16 yr old daughter. They were wrong. I found a fabulous rate for two days on Groupon, we traveled to NY by MegaBus, and the icing on the cake was our stay at the hotel. Even though there are many many steps the staff was MORE THAN ACCOMMODATING, the room was clean and inviting, and the beds were comfortable. One reviewer had freaked out over rusty shelves on the bathroom that is true but not freak worthy ( metal rusts in moisture duh!). The best part was the neighborhood and the easy on and off of the subway. I will stay here again if I visit the Big Apple in the future.

Great Budget hotel.
The check in was a little late in the afternoon. Around three pm. But for waiting we were upgraded for free and they checked our bags for us so we didn't have to carry them through the day. You could not beat the value.
It was cheaper for me to park my car in the Bronx and take the B train to 103rd. Walking from the hotel to the B train there was a shooting about a block over, so I made sure to go to Columbus circle and connect to the 1 train on my way back later in the night.response / report this review -

First night, going to bed, clothes off, I pull the blankets off the bed and notice blood stains in the blankets and the dunen. Clothes in, down to reception, but they sat they do not have extra bed sheets. Second night the bed was made perfectly. So I slept on a blanket that night. Never tried anything like this before in a hotel.

Doesn't deserve a star! My partner and I came home covered in bed bite scars! The bedding wasn't changed! The bathroom shelves are full of rust. Wifi barely connects. Huge flight of stairs to entrance! No elevators! No food facilities. Tiny rooms can lay down an touch one side of room to the other. Carpets are literally stained black and dirty. Paint old and dirty looking. It's an absolute slum. Best thing is location! Do not stay here!! It's absolutely disgusting! And dirty! Bed bugs!! Worst hotel I've ever visited.

I arrived during in the beginning of January of 2017 in my trip to New York City after regretting a room I rented on Airbnb. The service was decent, its employees and staff being quite accustoming and helped with our bags. As for the Hotel itself - It was relatively average. Its bathroom was compact and small, almost uncomfortable. During the cold night, the small radiator barely managed to do its job so it was still probably 55 degrees in the room itself where I slept, maybe a little bit warmer. Thank god for blankets.
The good thing about his hotel is that its right next to the 103 metro station which takes you all over downtown Manhattan and not too far from Central Park. As said earlier, the service was quite hospitable and even let me stay in the hotel lobby for a few hours so that I could wait my flight. Overall, it was an okay hotel, and was at least expecting a free breakfast service to compensate for the lack of a good radiator. Damn that thing!response / report this review -

This hotel is honestly the worse hotel I have ever slept at. I will give it 1.5 stars at best. The first room they put us in had hair all over the bed sheet with pink stains when I pulled back the comforter! The second room was slightly better however; the AC unit was extremely loud not to mention the shower was extremely hot or cold! I will definitely not be staying here ever again!!! Please do yourself a favor and pay the extra to get a better hotel because this one is not worth your money!!

There are no elevators, so I had to go up 5 floors everyday. That only bothered me on the first and last days when I had to carry the luggage, but it's something to consider especially for people with limited mobility. The common areas are all covered in carpets and they are a little stained. The room on the other hand was great, it had a good size, the beds were clean and comfortable. The room was very quiet, I couldn't hear any external noise at all. The only issue is that the shower got too hot or too cold all of a sudden. Bear in mind that this hotel is too far from most tourist locations, but it has a subway station very close, like 15 meters or so. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay there again, very good hotel overall with only a few minor issues.

The hotel was listed as a 3-Star hotel, but I would rank it at 2.5 at the very best. It gets its two stars from me because it was clean as far as I could tell and in what seemed like a safe area mere steps from a local metro station. In New York City, it's unlikely you'll find something much better than this for the price we paid, but we also got 28% off via Priceline. Had I paid full price, I wouldn't be pleased. The room had a view of the alley but for the price and location, that's just what will happen. My issues came with small details. The towels in the hotels were raggedy and clearly hadn't been replaced in years. The shower was awful - it was either second degree burns or ice cold and it screeched at you the whole time. On the upside, the beds were very comfortable and I slept great! Overall, not the worst possible experience but I wouldn't stay there again.

The location is great if you want to be near the subway. In terms of quality of the room, I would find it lacking. An old TV, dirty carpet, no view, and general awkward layout doesn't justify spending more to stay here. However, if you need an affordable place that you won't spend a ton of time in the actual room, this would be suitable.

Stiflingly hot, with no way to adjust the temp. Smells of mold and decay. Floors not level; bed not level either. Bathroom, cupboards, surfaces dirty. Narrow stairs (no elevator!) almost impossible to climb with luggage. Stay away, this place is the wrong kind of "cheap".

Very nice overall. Great price given the location. They have a lounge you can hang in before, during, or after your stay to relax and eat or socialize. Room was small but nice. Only complaint was that it was hot as hell in our room (in Feb), and had to use the ac, which took a long time to cool down. In their defense they offered to swap rooms if necessary

Great place to stay for a few days in the city. Subway station just up the street. A Starbucks downstairs and plenty of other food options around.
Our room was small, but clean with a private bathroom.
We stayed in the winter and our room was kept very warm.
