Big rooms, great customer service, and a happy hour! Really enjoyed my stay. The front desk folks were very nice. The room was great. Soft sheets, good pillows. Would stay here again.

Location is great. Between Rockefeller Center and Central Park. Front desk was very helpful and allows you to drop luggage off before check-in and after checking out. Shower didn't drain well.

This place was like staying at a bed and breakfast. Beautiful artwork displayed throughout the hotel. My room was just remodeled and so pretty. The bathroom had beautiful tile throughout that reminded me of Picasso. Shampoos and other bathroom products were made by the Beekman Bros.- A special bonus. The staff, Randywas magnificent and so helpful. Another guy in the morning was also very helpful directed to a wonderful breakfast joint around the corner. Highly recommend!!!

Location was great, and so was the hotel as a whole, the rooms were just ok though, even with the "a ghost lives here" feeling. I understand the vintage vibe present of the hotel but the rooms suffered because of it. The air conditioning didn't work so the windows had to be left open so I didn't spend the night in hell. The shower took awhile to get used to, hot was cold and cold was hot, it was a little confusing. The staff was welcoming and very helpful.

One of my most memorable visits to New York and I have been coming for business and personal reasons for over 20 years. This Hotel is Classic and Randy Ogoff, Chief Concierge is an outstanding representative of Service and Comfort. He was a breadth of fresh air. It is now my NYC Hotel of Choice. Thanks RS Team.

The people here at the Roger Smith hotel are so friendly and extremely helpful. They even fixed with a cute note to my mum congratulated her on her 60th birthday. A perfect place for your visit to the Big Apple.

Clean and comfortable rooms, not incredibly fancy or kitted out but very good for it's location and price range

My family had a large suite that felt like home. Courteous, professional staff made the stay exceptionally pleasant. And the location is the best to access anything you want in the city. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Really nice, quirky, independent hotel. Old-fashioned decor, books, live plants, fireplaces. Tiny little rooftop bar. A cool non-chain find in the middle of Midtown.

Nice room and polite staff. Location is good. On the downside it is very audible and the WiFi is unstable.

Old outdated rooms. Nice history. Crappy beds, tiny bathrooms for the price

I spent two weeks at the Roger Smith in February during a business trip, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff was always professional, friendly and helpful. They were patient that snafus in my booking would be sorted by my host organization, which greatly decreased my stress level.

My room was large and tidy. The furniture has seen better days - both where style and condition are concerned - but that just added to the overall charm. It certainly was more distinctive than the generic/impersonal furniture you most often find in rooms at larger hotel chains.

The location is wonderful, with proximity to Grand Central Terminal as well as numerous shops, restaurants, etc. (incl. a few open 24 hrs.)

5 star for the price and atmosphere. This hotel is still owned by the family that opened it and had a great feel to it. Don't stay if you are looking for a modern place without character and charm. We had a slight problem with one of the beds and they immediately replaced the bed for us. We really appreciated the customer service!

Bathrooms were recently remodeled and made great use of the space.

Only negative was the little bar on the first floor - can't recommend that but everything else is great.
