There is an overnight lady by the name of Elizabeth who is absolutely and over the top rude. I bought four items from the downstairs market and I was asked if I wanted to charge it to my room and I said no. I paid cash, and this was around seven at night, and I was given a receipt. I preceded to buy one of the same items after twelve and I was quoted a different price and I was told that I could not get a receipt. When I asked for one, she said that she could not give it to me. She looked on her computer for minutes trying to figure out something and could not come up with anything. This whole time she was rude and would not let me talk about how I received a receipt earlier. I walked back downstairs with the same item and my receipt and she was flabbergasted. She also told me that she was the manager. I called down to see if I could speak to a manger and then she told me that there wasn’t one available and would NOT tell me when another one would be on duty. The item that I bought for $15 was the Santa Ema Chardonnay 375 ml. She charged me $25 for it and did not ring it up or fail to give me a receipt. She would not give me her name. I had to get it from the cleaning guy. She also had security to stand there with her as a manager. She kept asking for my room number and when I told her that I knew her name, her attitude changed. This looks like someone who is trying to get over on people and the hotel by making up prices to pocket the money herself not knowing that people are on top of their finances. She also preceded to tell me that the prices are different from shift to shift as if I was stupid. I went back downstairs to get my money back. And I’m truly upset because I really needed that bottle of wine. Elizabeth is a lighter skin woman with long black hair and a bad attitude. You shouldn’t treat people like You do and try to get over on them when they are trying to have a great experience in New York that they have been planning for years.
My wife and I spent an extended weekend at the Courtyard for our 14th Wedding Anniversary. The property was excellent, in a great location, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Would recommend this property for a short business trip or extended stay!
Super convenient if you want to be in or close to Times Square. Hotel is nice, like your average Courtyard. Typical NY rates, so expect to pay a bit more and have less room than usual.
Where to begin
Arrive, reservation is wrong, although promised twice, now “impossible” to have adjoining rooms for our family. Next, check in to this micro room to find blood stains on bedspread. They move us. Upgrade they say.to another FILTHY room w dead and live moths everywhere. No coffee. And if your visiting and want a view, not here. This hotel is a dirty prison. THEN at bedtime we discover the toilet doesn’t work. We call the desk for help and a man arrives with a plunger. He hands it to us and leaves! No toilet all night. No toilet at all.
THEN as we’re leaving, there’s a lady at the desk. We hear she left for the day. She returned. Opened her room door. Finds someone else in her hotel room. All her stuff is gone and there’s no knowledge of what they did with all her luggage n belongings. What is that?! Hands down worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
Nice accommodations and a polished cozy lobby. It's small with about 12 rooms per floor and 3 elevators, so sometimes the elevators take a little longer, but that's about it.
Great location! Mini fridge was perfect for us. We loved.
Spent a Saturday night and got bitten by bedbug. Woke up to painful scratching at 4:30am, when I got up and turned on the light, lo and behold, a bedbug was crawling where I was sleeping. I woke up my wife to take a video of the bug instantly and also of the areas where I was bitten. I trapped the bug in a cup and I called the front desk immediately to let them know my finding. When i got up in the morning I asked for the manager and she apologized as I handed her the cup.
She said they (pest control) will investigate Monday and let me know the findings. When I wanted to show her where I got bitten she declined and said "oh no we take this very seriously, you don't need to show me".
I get a call today (Monday) and they said the room came out negative and I must have brought the bug from the subway or the streets or from another country. I got pissed because we live in NYC.
Catherine the manager said "there is nothing we can do from this side". I then asked her what the result is from the bug that I caught in the cup! Her response "oh, there is nothing in the findings on that bug"
I asked her to put herself in my shoes as a customer that got bitten at 4:30am.
Her answer "I understand", "but I will email the report to you now" .
Want bedbugs? Go to this hotel.
Rooms were very nice and extremely comfortable. Always clean and fresh linens. Staff was very nice and helpful. Greeted me every time I came back to the hotel. Convenient location to Times Square and subway lines but not directly in the midst of all the hustle and bustle.
Convenient, safe location even walking back at 2 am. Friendly helpful staff. Very modern rooms/showers. More spacious than expected. Would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel for the price. Very close to Times Square and had decent room sizes for being that close. Very helpful and nice front desk staff. Gym was alright, had an elliptical, stationary bike, recumbent bike, 3 treadmills, free waits and exercise balls packed into a small gym. Definitely a good Marriott hotel though for the area.
If I could give this hotel a zero rating I would. When we checked in the room wasn't ready. We had a suite and they did not come and clean the room at all. We had to request towels and for them to at least come and take the trash out. They offer valet parking, but do not adequately explain that you have to take the car out at the exact hour you check it in or you will be charged for a whole extra day. I would not recommend this hotel.
Perfectly located. Room is clean, but walls are very thin. The coffee in the morning is Starbucks but it didn't taste very good.
Room small with double bed, but very nice. Maid service very good. Staff always pleasant and would go out of their way to help.
This hotel is simply terrific. We are repeat guests and we have never been disappointed. Manager John Taboado and his entire staff treat guests as if they were members of a family. The location is ideal for exploring the city and the amenities available in Rick's make our stay even more reasonably priced.
Have stayed here about 5 times so far. Clean and comfortable, always up to Marriott standards. Good location near Bryant Park and Times Square. Good take out restaurant next door adds to the convenience. We enjoy coming back here.
It seemed like everything that could go wrong, did. First we waited over 90 minutes for our car to be parked, then our room wasn't ready until 6:15pm and finally, there was something wet that spilled onto our luggage while in storage. The staff, Miquel and Ariel went out of their way to turn things around for us! It was their commitment to making sure we had a great experience that will bring us back! It's a great hotel that is clean and in a great location, and if you like Bruno Mars, their front desk employee looks exactly like him!
