Top notch. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice breakfast, and plenty of places to eat in the area.
Very friendly staff. Very nice environment. Amazing quality people.
Clean, remodeled, dog friendly room. Hallway noise was at a minimum which was surprising as it was over a holiday weekend and fully booked. We were able to sleep through the night in comfort, peace and quiet.
The complimentary breakfast is one of the better I have come across and unlike some other hotel chains, they allow you to take it back to your roomdefinitely a plus when you are traveling with dogs that are not to be left unattended per hotel policy. This allowed one of us to go down, get our breakfast and bring it back to the room while the other remained with the dogs.
The only downside is that they were still in the remodeling process and because of that, the washer and dryer were out of service. Normally this would not be an issue for me, but as luck would have it, this was the first time I have needed to use a hotel's laundry facilities.
We did not check out the pool; therfore I cannot comment on it.
I am still willing to give 5 stars as overall it was a good experience. This is now my go to hotel when passing through Florence.
LaQuinta Inn was very clean and conveniently located to the airport. Hot breakfast always a plus. I did have an issue with the drain in the bathroom sink. Over all excellent hotel for the price.
Stayed next to elevator so it was very noisy won't make that mistake again. But overall the hotel was well taken care of and the staff was excellent. Bathroom had some previous water damage but nothing major. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good in the morning with adequate selection.
Very nice hotel. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast, courteous staff. The front desk staff called my room soon after checking to verify all was well in my room.
This is an above average La Quinta. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet.
The hotel as a whole is in need of rennovations and updates! The room we stayed in had a musky, moldy smell. The sheets and towels smelled of sweat or like they had sat in the wash and not been dried for a while, or not been washed at all. The smell was so strong that my 6 year old threw up everytime we came in and out of the room. I had to diffuse some essential oils to get rid of the odor. Now I dont doubt there is cleaning service or atleast someone employed for that because even woth the do not disturb sign hanging on our door she knocked and tried to still come in twice! There was NO hot water, it was barely warm and we took 3 showers each at different times trying to see if we could ever get a shower with hot water. The room which was on the 3rd floor by the elevator was also very loud, the windows are not sealed properly which leaves you hearing people in the parking lot, airplanes, and cars coming and going all hours of day and night. We had to search to find the blankets that went on the bed, they were in a bag in the closet which only had one sliding door(the other was missing or broken) The pool area looks as though it needs to be cleaned..thoroughly.. especially around hot tub. Temperature of hot tub was not hot, it was also barely warm, if you got in the cold pool then immediately into the hot tub then it felt a little warmer for about 2 minutes. Even after all this we were hopeful about the breakfast bescause weve never stayed at a la quinta that didnt have a great breakfast. What a dissapointment! The muffins tasted like cardboard. The gravy and eggs were gross, oatmeal was like water, it literally had about 2 inches of water in the too of the pot. the waffles were our last hope and i think the mix was expired or not right because we tried both waffle irons and even kept the waffle in there a few extra seconds and they still came out a little doughy. The bread was already stale and hard, there was no need to toast it, just pick a piece and go. The front row of coffee was not fresh& was barely warm. But the back row of coffee and hot water canister actually came out HOT and FRESH!! with steam and everything!! That was the most wonderful part of our stay! They also had hot chocolate and tea available which was nice. On check out day the elevator was taking so long I thought id grab the stairwell but the door next to the elevator was not that, it was a room that looked very dangerous and like it was in the middle of demolition. I hope that other people will have a better experience than we did. But unless some major changes are made I will personally NEVER stay at this la quinta inn ever again.
Other recent low ratings have zeroed in on the fact that the building is under renovation and have expressed disappointment that this was not preannounced. That much is all true, but my feedback has to do with the cleanliness of the rooms, that has nothing to do with the renovations. Attached is photo of a significant hairball that sat in the entryway to the room in plain view for two days. Hard to imagine that this owner-operator is capable of mending their ways
When I stayed at this hotel, I was in my room and first I noticed, to my dismay, that our door did not lock. It was accessible from the outside by just pushing it open. Then as the night continued I went to get into my bed and found food from prior guests, proving the sheets had not been changed. I then called the front desk, expecting them to change the sheets, but instead was rudely told no. Not a very good experience.
Overall the experience was mostly positive. The rooms were reasonably priced and reasonably sized, and were clean. The breakfast was fair and we appreciated the pets staying free policy. The beds were extremely comfortable (even if they were just doubles and not queens). There were several minor issues that caused us concern. Our bedroom floor was recently tiled, but they didn't rule well around the toilet (which slopes a bit) and the tile was cracked in several places. Several areas of the remodel we're done cheaply and not finished well. Our sink was starting to pull away from the countertop underneath, and our room door didn't quite close and latch unless you pulled up on the handle because it was hung crooked. Overall these were minor though, and our stay was mostly pleasant.
We checked in to the hotel at around 4pm on March 21st. We were stopping for the night on our way back home from Florida with our one year old and dog. We had already been in the car for seven hours and were excited to kick off our shoes and relax a bit.
The young man at the front filled out the normal paperwork and gave me our room key for room 201. I got the family out of the car and headed toward the elevator. I should have known something was wrong when their was a hotel employee with a giant cart of carpet waiting for the elevator, but I didn't think anything of it at the time. When the doors opened on the second floor, we were blown away (Pictures attached)! We thought, there MUST have been a mistake. I double checked my room key holder and sure enough, it said 201. We made it about halfway down the hallway before my wife noticed derogatory graffiti written on the walls and trim nails sticking out. We turned around and went back down to the front desk.
We asked the front desk attendant if there had been a mistake, and he said there had not. Unfortunately, every floor was undergoing a renovation and there was nothing he could do. He went on to say that he would understand if we didn't want to stay there because a LOT of guests had been complaining from the work. I told him that we would not be staying at the hotel in this condition, and asked if I could speak to the manager. He said he understood, but unfortunately his manager was on a run to the airport and we would have to wait in order to speak to him. Anyone who has tried traveling with a one year old and a large dog knows you can't just sit around in a lobby waiting, so we decided to get back on the road and drive another SIX HOURS home. I asked the young man to have the hotel manager call me to explain to me why no one ever let us know the hotel was under renovations. There was no mention on the website, the corporate call line (where we booked), or even when we checked in. He said he would let him know and we hit the road.
The next morning I received a call from the Assistant General Manager. She was very professional, given the situation, and I genuinely feel bad for her having to be the one dealing with all the customer complaints. I found out that the property is franchised and the owner sets the schedule for renovations. Rather than doing one floor at a time like most hotels would, they had decided to do them as quickly as possible (obviously a profit driven decision). Both corporate call centers and the website should say that they are under construction, but still do not. All the AGM could do is say that she would pass along my complaint to the GM and Owner, so they could see if they want to do something about it.
Well, all I can do it notify all of YOU about the situation at this property and the way that they are currently handling it. I would highly suggest that anyone who is planning to stay at this property over the next few months think twice about their decision. We will not be back because the ownership is obviously more interested in keeping their profits up than making sure their guests are in a comfortable and safe environment.
