TLDR: If you are looking for a safe place to sleep after spending the day exploring, this is a good place, but if you are looking for a place to hang out all day long, you might need a spa hotel.
This place is actually pretty decent.
My husband and I decided to go for a last minute trip to Austin with our pooch! We weren't looking for a place to hang out all day and do fancy things. We wanted to explore around and have a safe place to sleep.
I told them ahead of time that I had my dog with me and when I checked in there were no issues. The staff was nice and attentive.
In the room, the carpet did smell a little like wet dog, but I just assumed we got the dog room, my only suggestion is to maybe get an air freshener or something in there before someone comes, if you know it in advance. Besides the carpet smell, the room was nice and clean. The beds were clean, well made and did not smell like dog, the bathroom was clean as well and we had a very nice stay.
Our room was all the way in the back by the back street and I was a little worried it would be noisy since is was by the street and the freeway was so close by, but it was a very quiet night.
Overall I think it is a great place for you to spend the night and not break the bank since it is so close to everything in downtown.
We are planning to come back to Austin, without the dog this time, and we will be staying here for a second time to see how it goes.
Room itself wasn't bad. However it smelled strongly of fabreeze which gave us a headache. Also breakfast had run out of waffles and orange juice and was not restocked.
When I booked this LQ I knew it wasn’t going to be the best but this is the worst of the worst I’ve ever stayed in for LQ. The biggest issue was when we got to our room it smelt AWFUL! I thought it smelt like mildew and chemical cleaner. Whatever it was it was overwhelming. We opened the window and door for a while. Finally we asked for a different room because it was so strong and we couldn’t change hotels because we were on a time crunch to get somewhere. The second room smelt bad as well but it was more tolerable. We moved hotels for the second night because it was so gross. I saw one review that mentioned their bathroom or the sewer flooded their room. I assume that’s where the smell came from.
To add to it their breakfast was gross. They had hard boiled eggs sitting out in a bowl with no ice or anything to keep them cool.
Stayed at this hotel a grand total of about 30 minutes. Front door to room was wide open when we checked in. Refrigerator doesn't work and actually had mold inside. Saw many small roaches on the wall and dresser. Staff was indifferent when this was reported. Staff seemed bothered that i asked for a refund. Asked for a refund and was told I was given one but bank app shows we were charged twice. Disputing those charges now. Will never stay here ever again! I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.
It was a nice room, two twin beds. I wish there was a small fridge. Quiet neighborhood and Mexican restaurant in parking lot with good food. Close to downtown Austin but not too close to have too much traffic.
I paid 289.00 for a room with double beds. The room smelled bad, the carpet had many stains. There was mold in bathroom shower ceiling. The baseboards were dusty, we didn't have any bath or hand soap or little bottles of shampoo. The front door bottom trip was rotted. The area was scary and not safe to walk around out at night. The place is by the freeway so the noise is loud. The people in rooms next door threw up in parking lot and it was not cleaned up by hitel maintenance. They were very loud, security did not quiet these people the party continued into the early hours of the morning. The vomit dried in the sun. The place was dirty all around. The staff was friendly they are not at fault for bad management.
This place is okay. I added one star for being located close to the airport. It's got an outdated interior. The bed sheets had old stains on them and the skirting for the box spring had become yellow with age. It seems to be a popular place for traveling contractors as the parking lot was mostly pick ups with tool boxes. It's located next to an industrial area. Very barren and empty. Not a place you'd want to take a stroll around at night. I got a discount online for this place and the photos were deceiving. Don't pay more than $65 a night to stay here.
La Quinta was amazingly accommodating! Our a.c. was out in first room, so they immediately changed the room. It was a little dark in the parking lot so some more exterior lightening would be safer. Thanks La Quinta!
Staff is really nice & The location is excellent!
The maid service needs to get trained on how to clean rooms properly.
Also they need to remodel hotel and raise the prices to keep some of the bad apples from staying here.
Good for a reasonably priced hotel near downtown. Clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was limited to cold cereal, hard-boiled eggs and coffee. Not great. No elevator.
I wish I could leave no stars. This hotel was by far the grossest one I have ever walked into. The toilet was out of place. It was literally not connected to the wall and placed in front of the sink. There was poop and dirty towels in the restroom. On top of it all, when I called the front desk (from my cell phone since the room phone was disconnected) they told me to call the 1-800 number instead of helping me. They didn't even apologize. Finally, I called the number and they tried to charge me to go to another location instead of help me. They would not accommodate at all. Needless to say, after 40 minutes of being on the phone with supervisors, we did not stay there and had to find another place at 1 in the morning since they would not help us.
Room was clean through out entire stay. Service was great for the time spent. Pool was clean. Your average hotel essentially, nothing amazingly special. Good for it's price.
The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. The doors to the hotel are outside. The room was filthy. There was hair in the bathroom and there was no toilet paper. The room had a musty smoky smell, as if it used to be a smoking room. Kids were out in the pool until close to midnight yelling and screaming. Overall not the best place. You're better off driving about .5 mile up the road to a nicer hotel.
I Had the Best Clean room, hospitable, taking care of me, patient staff.. I Got a room as close to the office as was possible After asking for a safe feel room, One where I could walk solely in the Eve and Along with it, a beautifully cleaned spotless room during our stay with both beds made Trusting my laptop left in the room while gone AnD maid working on there without me in. Breakfast was great, well set out, variety and well kept till the end. Even allowed that we get breakfast LATE when we slept in !&)
