The staff here is really on point. The room was really clean. The maids are a bit lazy. They just handed us our sheets instead of changing them. I also asked one of the maids to switch our towels out for us and she said her cart was yo far that I had to bring the dirty ones to her and switch them myself. That's not exactly great customer service.

Easily accessed, nice pool and hot tub. Did not use the gym. There are two restaurants- The Waffle spot, and the Amigo spot. The Waffle spot has a great breakfast menu and I would highly recommend. The amigo spot on the other hand left a bit to be desired, the service was great, but our food seemed to be doused in black pepper. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again if I was on a budget.

Absolutely great stay! Kid friendly hotel for my whole entire family. The entire staff is very understanding and they accommodate to my 2 severely special needs autistic children. Thank you so much Kings Inn! We will plan to drop by the next time we head out to San Diego again the future.

The King size bed is very comfortable, which is the most important for us. The bathroom is clean but small. Front desk staff is very helpful and kind. We enjoyed breakfast at the Waffle Spot and received 10% discount for staying at the Kings Inn. I wish they can do something about the smell in the room. We stayed at room 127. We will stay again.

I would most definitely stay here again. We were warmly greeted upon arrival, given accurate instructions to our room and advised of restaurants on premises. The room was a little "bare bones" but very large and clean. Walking to the Mexican restaurant we were surprised to see a lovely patio area and large pool. Had delicious marguaritas at the bar and went to the breakfast restaurant in the morning. Both were above average in ambiance and food. All in all a most pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel. Had breakfast at the Waffle Spot. Wife and kids all loved it! Rooms are very clean. I've stayed in the bigger name (and more expensive) hotels near Mission Bay. Never again. The mid-century theme is very cool. Next time I come back, I'll stay here!

Friendly staff, clean rooms and very comfortable beds. The waffle spot restaurant inside has a big menu and is very good. Bathroom in the room is very small and the walls are thin, so I could hear people walking outside and many of the guests were not respectful of those who are sleeping. I even had someone knock on my door at 2 AM. I didnt get up to see who. The pool and hot tub area is great. Clean and plenty of room to spread out. Great location, 5 min to zoo, 10 min to beach and close to a shopping mall as well.

I keep saying that I will stay at the Kings In once I visit San Diego again. And next time will be the time. What brings me there even though I don't stay there is one thing, and it's something I frequented when I lived in San Diego: Waffle Spot. This little hotel diner/breakfast joint has the best waffles you can get on the west coast (since there's no Waffle House). The buttermilk waves are so fluffy and delicious, especially when served with crispy, thick bacon. This place will especially be a treat if you're from the South because many of the dishes are prepared in a more southern style. You can even expect good gravy and a capable mimosa if you ask for it. The prices also please, especially if you go with a platter. This a must visit for anyone who enjoys breakfast in San Diego. It's one of the best kept secrets.

Great location, and Reasonable rates. (Had a bad experience at another Hotel in CA but felt completely "SAFE'" in this Hotel!.) Room was clean and very well kept. Atmosphere was welcoming and vintage. Great restaurant on site. Would definitely stay again!!!!

Great motel, like stepping into a time warp. Reminds me of the vintage motel from the 70's. The manager at the front was nice. The room was clean. They were accommodating when I needed a extra bed they rolled one in without extra charge. Of course the roll away wasn't very comfortable but at least they tried. They also have a nice waffle house on the property. It needs a bit of updating but over great place. Took away one star because our neighbors were a bit rowdy and the hotel couldn't do anything about it.

First, let me say I would absolutely stay here again. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly and professional and restaurants wonderful. We had a room on the bottom floor towards the back of the property and you would never know you were just off a freeway. The rates were fair, the service great and we look forward to staying here on our next visit to San Diego.

Absolutely loved the place. Rooms are clean and look very nice. Staff is helpful and friendly. Hotel is located close to everything. While we stayed here we ate at the two restaurants that are connected to the hotel, The Waffle Spot and The Amigo Spot. Food was awesome, I recommend the Fajitas at the Amigo Spot. Everything at the Waffle Spot is amazing.

Stayed here five nights with two kids and our puppy, it was the most amazing stay EVER!! I'm so picky about everything so this is saying a lot!!! The room was crisp clean and comfortable, the staff was awesome, the grounds were kept super clean and beautiful. The manager was so friendly and very accommodating. Will DEFINITELY stay here if we get to visit San Diego again and I highly recommend. The price is also amazing. The only things I can think of that would make it even better, microwaves and New shower heads but honestly those didn't bother me the entire week we were there, we used our coffee maker for hot water to make noodles, worked out wonderfully!

We found this accommodations, clean, fresh and inviting. While the pool area was under maintenance they were respectful enough to advise this at the time of booking. The 2 restaurants were a draw for us. The Mexican food was delicious and I totally enjoyed my first ever Margarita. While the power outage was unavoidable staff were on board with emergency resources available should they have needed them. A breakfast was put on for all guests. Lovely friendly, capable staff. We checked in earlier than their usual check in and they were very accommodating. We were close to Old Town Sand Diego - perfect for us. A brief drive to the harbour.

Whenever we are in San Diego we stay here,my husband, daughter, and I. Staff is always friendly and accommodating! It's very quaint vintage style, rooms are always neat and clean. We love the pool and hot tub. It's nice that I can park right outside my room. The Waffle Spot is perfect for breakfast, The front desk will give you a coupon at check-in. My husband and I ate dinner at the Amigo Spot, food was good and Saturday nights they have live entertainment. I would recommend this hotel
