Do not let the economical price full you! The bed was as good as a Hilton, the price was FAIR and Uninflated. I felt safe, welcomed and appreciated. I recommend you save some money and get a good nights rest at Bay Inn.
It's okay for a night or two, especially for the price. There's a mini fridge and microwave and flat screen TV in each room. But it's definitely nothing fancy. The first night I was there, the bathroom light was out and the nightstand light wasn't working either. The elevator was also out of order which made things a little difficult when trying to bring luggage up to the room. It took a little while to get everything fixed again. But over all the stuff was nice and as accommodating as they could be I guess. The hotel is right next to an IHOP and a gas station so you can get breakfast right around the corner or a midnight snack. It's also right next to a Target and Ralphs which are in a little shopping center across the street. The location is convenient, but it's not the best place I've ever stayed It's also not the worst.
Nice and friendly staff at the front desk, also right next to an IHOP restaurant.
The rooms are surprisingly clean, well kept and have a lot of ammenities for such a cheap price, I did not stay long enough to make use of these but I found a mini fridge, microwave and safe.
The whole experience was pretty nice! only downside for me personally was that it's located a decent walk from public transport, or in my case the transit station in old town.
It is what it is. A cheap hotel. It's clean though and the air conditioning and Wi-Fi work. I've stayed in worse places.
During check in, there was another guest in front of me who was complaining that his room "looks like a dumpster". Apprehended, we were welcomed to our room with a baby roach on the TV set (there's baby means there's a nest somewhere right?!). Everything in the room is just outdated. The pros: good water pressure and hot water from the bathroom, clean sheets, nice jacuzzi on the outdoor, and it's cheap. Won't be coming back though.
Location was close to beach but wasn't in the best part of town. Outside was pretty run down but rooms were fine enough for a night. Comfy bed, nice space. Slightly outdated but nothing we weren't ready for.
Service was good, but the only clean part of the room was (thankfully) the bed. Gross bathroom, dirty floors and mirrors. No key for the rusty safe. You want a cheap hotel? You've got that here.
With the understanding that this is not supposed to be a 5 star resort and is a motel, the place was good. The tile floors could have been cleaner and the towels were way past their recommended life expectancy (but they were clean). Nice swimming pool and hot tub. Location is great and IHOP is literally next door, so all together, I'd stay there again.
Clean room, good location. You get the basics which is what you can expect at this price point. The staff was friendly and welcoming and even gave some San Diego tips! The room could have been in better repair, but it was just cosmetic, everything was functioning properly.
Cover plates missing from outlets. Could use a remodel. Crudely functional. Beds are comfortable.
You get what you pay for, my rate was $50 one night with a king bed I believe, the TV remote was missing, and there weren't many sheet/blankets on the bed. Overall a pleasant experience, staff was nice too.
The linens were clean because they smelled of clorox however, they were really good for exfoliating your body due to the roughness and worn condition. Walls were dirty, no towel bar for the sink area and the dangling microwave plug could not reach the closest outlet which was in a bigger hole then the outlet. Repairs are very unprofessional. The location was across the street from a strip joint and directly under the San Diego airports busiest take off runway. However, there is a great IHOP restaurant right next door that's why I'm giving it 2 stars!
The room had spiders in there. There was only one fleece blanket for two beds. The AC/heater worked fine. The toilet paper dispenser was hanging off the wall (like it was going to fall off). The towels had stains but smelled clean. The fridge had a funky smell. Random people from the strip club across the street sometimes wander around the inn. The room is cheaper online than when you actually walk in if you decide to stay here (or at least my experience).
Stay there weekly for work! Nothing fancy, but it's reasonable and the tv works! It's close to everything and normally pretty quite! Save some money by staying here and use it for everything else you want to do! Enjoy.
