Staff is friendly and location is great with easy walking to downtown Old Scottsdale. The decor is a throwback to the 60's and it is difficult to tell if that decision has a purpose other than to be an excuse not to make updates to the establishment. Front lobby and bar/restaurant are very presentable, but look anywhere else and you'll see that they are just passing by. For the process, I would expect a lot better. Maybe they are holding on to the prestige of being in Scottsdale.
This is a great classic 1950s hotel. It is obvious the staff is proud of their beautiful buildings and they work to provide the classic service you would expect. The rooms are well appointed, from a bathtub complete with mood lighting to a wonderfully comfortable bed.
This place is wonderful. Beautifully appointed, decorated for the season. The staff is accommodating, Luis at the front desk is a great resource, always smiling. Easy walk to shops, galleries, tons of restaurants. Go to the VALLEY HO!
Super affordable for a 4-star hotel! Staff are friendly and accommodating. I've been here for like 5 times already. I just love this place. The atmosphere is nice, it feels familiar.
Excellent property maintaining its mid century design roots with a more modern touch. Off peak rates are very affordable. I would recommend the non tower rooms facing the lap pool as the main tower would likely be a bit noisy on busy pool days during the summer months. Overall excellent stay, HOWEVER, there was one major glaring issue (minor to everyone else but I’m a designer, so it is bizarrely off key compared to all the other perfectly manicured grounds and design details)PLEASE cover the tacky Home Depot branded water containers at each pool. (See photo below). A simple sticker with your logo on it or a metal container that fits over top will be ideal. Very strange oversight. If it’s not changed by the time I revisit next year, I can bring some decal stickers with your logo on it, just let me know. ;)
I went to the hotel for their spa and pool. The spa was very nice. The spa had private lockers, dressing rooms, showers, a dry sauna, plenty of towels and places to get ready after services. The massage I had was so relaxing. The main pool is great. There were plenty of chairs, two hot tubs, a bar with good drinks. They have a small menu of food to order from if you're hungry. They had a dj that day so it was a fun party atmosphere. There's a 2nd pool if you prefer it quiet. Overall it was a great experience.
Very neat, retro feel. Service was excellent and so was the food. I was attending a conference and I'd say the event services are some of the best I've ever seen at area hotels.
I love this hotel! My girlfriend and I have been coming here for years. We have celebrated numerous birthdays and met friends here year after year. Cool retro vibe and just a great place to relax. Unfortunately, we probably won't stay here again. We came in from Tucson to stay the weekend and as typically happens during the summer the hotel is not busy but I have a problem paying $18 per night for parking when there is no demand for parking. The parking charge then becomes a BS charge. To bad, they lost me over $18 per night :(
I actually really loved this hotel, its retro but the rooms are new and spacious. The bathroom is ideal for two people sharing a room as the toilet is in its own enclosure and there is ample sink space and separate shower and tub combo. My only complaint about the bathroom is the shower head in the shower does not have enough pressure to easily wash long hair. The pool is great and has a DJ on weekends. The reason I am giving it a lower rating is because your personal belongings should be safe when you stay in a hotel and my $500 sunglasses were taken from the room which is not so great and really put a damper on my experience. When i called the hotel and explained what happened they really didn't seem to care which was also pretty disappointing given they were not a cheap throw away pair of glasses and i had stayed there for 3 nights with a large group of women (they made good money from us that weekend). I would suggest that if you stay at this hotel you ensure you put all valuables in your safe. I had left mine sunglasses on the table thinking they were safe and this was clearly a mistake.
Such a fun decor! Had a very clean room. Brought my dog. :) Excellent location. On the pricey side. But would stay again.
Love the Hotel Valley Ho! The hotel has the perfect location, easy to walk into old town Scottsdale for bars and restaurants. The food at the hotel is great and the bar is good. Live music is pretty common. The hotel has two pools, one is quiet and the other has music and a bar, both are great. My wife and I have stayed here a couple times and love it!
I've been coming here for a few years. It is my favorite stay-cation location. I love the rooms and the ambiance.
I also love the pool scene. We have a company party every year here poolside.
Hotel was clean, staff was super helpful. I wanted to say how much we loved Taylor, She gave us a shuttle ride to Old Town Scottsdale, and she was such a joy to be with for that short distance. All the staff members were very courteous, but Taylor really stood out on our short trip. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
I have always loved the Valley hotel property. As a local Scottsdale event planner, I have booked countless meetings and guest rooms. Over the past 5 years I have spent well over $100,000. I had scheduled a spa day for my best friend and I for her birthday. After I pulled into the parking lot spot, my vehicle was hit by one of their landscapers racing by in his cart. The driver tried to pass on my passenger door side and clipped it with his cart, continued to drive dragging my door and causing over $4,000 in damage. Not only did we miss our spa appointments, but I was stuck there to handle everything on my own with the police, the landscaper that didn’t speak English and a security guard who didn’t say a word. No one at the hotel offered any assistance and they are now REFUSING to pay for the damages, even after I have a detailed police report from the scene. This is certainly not the kind of customer service I was expecting from a 4 star property. I certainly wouldn’t be getting this type of service from any of their competitors down the street. From this point on, I will never book another meeting, send another customer, or recommend this hotel to anyone. I hope this $4,000 dispute was worth all of this business to them.
I haven't stayed here, BUT I did have breakfast here and walked around quite a bit. It is a wonderful, lovely place - I'd love to stay here.
Staff are quite friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is great - lots of places to walk and near other places to eat, shop, walk around, etc.
I'm lobbying for the family to go here for Christmas. Ho! Ho! Ho! Let's go to the Valley Ho! Okay, that's already wearing a little thin, but the place is great!
