Pros: Beautiful lobby and rooms. Perfect cozy size for a night or two in the city. Clean, updated and modern. Great location (right next to the Empire State Building and Times Square) We were also able to walk to Macy's on 34th and Bryant Park within 10 minutes.
Con: EXTREMELY SLOW ELEVATORS.
Great hotel, even better rate if you book in advance! Hotel rooms are compact, but have all the amenities: iron, hair dryer, ironing board, comfy bed. This place is a stone's throw away from the Empire State Building, and 5th Ave. Don't expect great views, expect convenience!
P.S. free wine tasting! 5:00-6:30 pm.
Beautiful well-lit rooms and gracious lobby. A taste of the "old NYC" style of hotels and buildings. Our room had a small corner shower stall - something to ask about in advance if you need extra room in the bath. Would be happy to come again for a longer stay.
We were a family of 4 staying for 5 nights at your hotel. The suite we had was amazing and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace was amazing and the sites of the empire state building were magnificent. The only drawback, were the constant sirens going off quite frequently. But then maybe that's just the way NYC is. Still would recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again.
This is a nice older Hotel situated right in midtown. The location is very convenient, close to shopping, sites and accessible via the subway or a short walk to Penn Station. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was clean. I'd recommend staying here.
My only qualm was the quality of the WiFi - just as I need to do some critical work, i could not get a stable connection and ended up having to leave the hotel and ran to the nearest Starbucks.
We had a basic room and found that it has enough as we where to explore New York than needing a room. It had a decent shower, TV and air con/hearing unit. The bed was amazing after the miles we walked everyday. The breakfast that was included with our package was a standard continental apart from the muffins (Oreo, white chocolate and red velvet. Yummy!) The door staff was always friendly and helpful. It also had an amazing view of the empire state building with the room top floor and in September great sun sets when looking down the street. The only down points are one of the plugs in the room didn't work. Some slashed food on the wall in the breakfast area, could Have been painted over.
This is a clean hotel with a small room that will only accommodate 2 people. The location is great. I would stay here again. It is moderately priced and a comfortable stay for a weekend in NYC. Not a 5 star experience. But worth the low price for the heart of manhatten
Clean and reasonably priced hotel. Maybe needs some updating in places, but on the whole it is a nice hotel.
Breakfast is basic, but us good if you are in a rush. It is largely bagules, toast, cereal and fruit.
Staff were all friendly and we would definitely stay again.
Amazing hotel with amazing staff. Free breakfast which was really good with a wide selection of items.
Very close to everything (times square, shopping, central park). Highly recommend it.
Good view of empire state was bonus.
Good location and clean room~ Kind people and simple but enough breakfast for healthy morning😉
Great location. 5mins walk to Empire State Building. Friendly staff. Spacious and clean rooms (Premier Queen Room). Comfy beds. A little noise coming from the street but generally quiet. Only a continental breakfast but you can eat in the adjoining restaurant for a full English for just over half price of what the general public pay. 34st Herald Street subway 1min walk. Would definitely stay again.
Trip started badly as we lost our IPad enroute from the UK. Natalia on reception was only too ready help and located it for us at JFK!
We had a premier queen room on the top floor with a comfortable bed. Shower was powerful and hot although drawer space was a little limited. House keeping was very good and continental breakfast was adequate and not over crowded.
Free wine tasting each evening was relaxing but we felt that food in the restaurant could have been a bit more exciting.
Views of the Empire State Building from the roof terrace were stunning and location of the hotel was excellent for sight seeing. A very pleasant stay.
Very nice hotel. The staff was very helpful and professional. Unfortunately rooms weren't ready for early check-in, but that wasn't expected. The double room was nice, but on the small side, which seems to be common for NYC hotels. The pillows were stiff and uncomfortable, on top of noise from the street and nearby construction made it difficult to get a solid night's sleep. Overall, that's to be expected of a moderately priced hotel in Manhattan. The location was very convenient.
Great location because close to sites, friendly staff, comfy bedding. Refrigerator in the room was a plus but I could hear every sound & conversation going on out in the corridor. The bathroom could use some small renovations or updating but was decent.
