Very nice, if basic hotel. Staff were excellent. Check-in was fast and efficient. We had a nice room which was clean and well kept. A basic but adequate breakfast was provided in with the price as well as hot drinks throughout the day. The hotel is a short walk from Madison Square Garden, Macy's and the Manhattan Mall. The Empire State Building is also just a short walk away. Most of the major subway routes (including PATH) are virtually on the doorstep. There are also bars and restaurants in the local area.
Great location to train station within walking distance. We arrived early and Front Desk held luggage so we could tour the city. Room was adequate size for 4 adults for 1 night. Staff was excellent.
I've stayed here more than a half dozen times now. Rooms are a bit small (expected in NYC) but rates are pretty good and I've never had a bed bug problem here. Convenient location in Manhattan, with a subway entrance that goes up to Times Square only a block away.
Every time I have been to this hotel I have enjoyed my stay. I could have gone with 4 stars but that would not be fair because the staff can't control everything.
Usually business travel brings me here and being from Brooklyn myself I have high expectations.
For the money this is a great deal. Staff is attentive and professional, food is good, rooms are comfortable and efficient.
I hope to return soonmissing New York!
The room was comfortable, the bed and pillows were nice. We were staying in a room with a jacuzzi tub which I never got a around to using. The staff were very nice as well. Breakfast was included and had the basics (cereals, bagels/toast, pastries), some hot food, the whole time there was the option of sausage and gravy. There were also cinnamon rolls and either a waffle or pancake machine, depending on the day. Only downside was that the shower wasn't great. But this wasn't a deal breaker. I'll stay here again and I recommend this as a place to stay. We were also within walking distance of UCB for improv!
Nice clean hotel.. I was on the eight floor. Great location, decent breakfast in the morning.. they always have tea and fruit infused water to drink. Nice proximity to Madison Square Gardens and Times Square.. my room was clean and looked modern.. they said there was HBO and there was even a HBO guide in my room next to the tV. But didn't actually have the channel.. also the room was super small .. the door opens to the inside and is not far from the bed..
Ok location. Was close to where I needed to be for work, but isn't the nicest part of town. Walking distance to everything though which was very nice. The hotel is small - the rooms, the public areas, everything is pretty small. I think that's typical for "Express" -designated Holiday Inn hotels. Otherwise, it's clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Room very small. No storage under sink for toiletries, hardly any counter space in bathroom, no real closer in room or refrigerator. Breakfast area extremely small for the amount of rooms in hotel. Also, being a platinum member, I have stayed at many holiday inn's and this was the first one that didn't have the usual pancakes. Also, the expected holiday Inn cinnamon bun were tiny and weren't as wonderful.
The hotel is centrally located, steps away from Times Square, the Empire State Building, Penn Station, and Madison Square Garden. At the same time, it's on a more quiet block away from the hustle. The rooms are standard for NYC - small but functional. At 13 floors, the hotel isn't tall enough to offer any views, but higher floors do block out some street noise - mostly garbage trucks picking up garbage at night on certain weeknights. On the other hand, you can take the stairs to lower floors, which might come in handy as the building only has 2 elevators. Amenity wise, this hotel offers just the basics. Stays come with breakfast, which was very good, offering several warm options, a pancake printer, and warm cinnamon rolls. No fresh fruit salad, but an assortment of bananas and oranges for you to take. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again.
The location is convenient and the hotel was in good condition. The WiFi worked well and the breakfast was good, for a free breakfast. I did have issues with my door not working, but they were resolved. The door also did not close on its own, so I had to keep checking it was closed. The elevators are very small and very slow. There is also only one ice machine, in the lobby, which was empty when I tried to use it. Minor issues in all, but together keep this from a great experience.
My visit to the hotel was unexpected but turned out very pleasant, staff was very friendly and accommodating. construction was on going in the lobby and staff put to the side in a closet for reception. Overall not a bad experience.
BED BUGS!!!!!' BED BUGS!!!!!! BED BUGS!!!!!! I have NEVER experienced this! Staying here with my 4yr old son and we both woke up with bites ! Woke up to a bed bug crawling on my sheet ! Had to throw away his personal blanket my personal sheets. The cleaning ladies SUCK at cleaning! All they do is surface clean ! So expect to come stay in someone else dirt! Best thing about the hotel is front desk after that they need to get it together you have babies and families staying here i would expect way more precautions!
Comfortable rooms. Breakfast was a little smaller than usual (for Holiday Inn Express) and no seating was available but it wasn't a big issue. The value for the cost was incredible! Highly recommended.
Everything was great up until a point. The staff were really nice, it wasn't that far from my many destinations. On my last day, I woke up early for checkout, it was around 9 am. I had my bag with me and I stepped outside for a cigarette. When I walked back in to get the complimentary breakfast one of the kitchen staff was staring at me. I said hello and she asked if she could help me, I said I would just like to get the some coffee. Then she asked me if I was a guest here I said yes. I guess she was in disbelief because she was staring at me the entire time I was getting the coffee. Now normally I wouldn't have an issue with that because as a black man in America I'm used to that sort of treatment. I noticed there were a lot of people in the lobby but I was the only one she questioned. Nevertheless I didn't let it bother me, what really bothered me is that when I was leaving the hotel, the kitchen staff member said "SEE YOU TOMORROW" as if I live off the street and I came there on a regular just for the free breakfast. Keep in mind, the security was right there but she never said anything to me because she saw me get out the elevator before I went outside. So if you don't have a problem being discriminated against this hotel is perfect for you!!!!! ENJOY NEW YORK!
Had a great time. Staff very friendly. They have room service food was good not bad at all. Close to everything in walking distance Empire State Building few blocks away
