Love the Hotel Lincoln and the J Parker! We put up my girlfriend's parents there as a Christmas gift and they absolutely loved it. It's in an awesome part of town, and the space is really cool. The view from the J Parker is fantastic, especially at night when the zoo lights are lit. The staff at the bottom of the elevator can sometimes be a bit blunt, but they deal with a large crowd on the weekends. Regardless, great place to hang out!
My girlfriend and I dropped into the rooftop bar for cocktails on a Tuesday afternoon. Wonderful cocktails, great staff. Check the cocktail specials, I had a spicy Mezcal that blew my mind. Everyone was courteous and friendly. The view is incredible. Can't wait to go back!
Location fantastic! Room overlooked Lincoln park. Close to great eats and bars. Fantastic check-in staff, personable and full of life. Not your typical boring fake nice. Valet quick and easy. Room neat and clean. 10 out of five stars!
Clean and comforting. Staff members were welcoming, conversational, and hooked us up with an upgrade without being asked! The rooftop bar is a great place to have a few adult beverages with some amazing views of the city and lake to bask in.
Had a very nice overnight stay. Room was cute: very nicely decorated, contemporary, clean, everything you needed, nothing you didn't. The heating unit, however, was very loud and squeaky in our room. We weren't able to run it at night because it was so loud. That aside, I really liked it. The hotel was located right next to the zoo and waterfront. Great restaurants nearby. I would go back again
Hotel Lincoln has great customer service. They were kind enough to book us another night (and match a 3rd party website) due to the Cubs rain delay. There is a coffee shop located next to the lobby. There is a rooftop bar and breakfast restaurant. Rooms are tiny and a little dated but that was expected before booking. Overall stay was pleasant. Fyi, valet is $57 per night.
The front desk people were just very lovely & the cleaning staff are very sweet & helpful. The beds however, are not the comfiest. Plus when we were done for the night & going to bed the tv kept cutting out, remote wouldn't work. Plus didn't even have half the stations listed. You can hear the toilets from other rooms as well whole you try to sleep. Other than that pretty nice.
Nice place in a great location. Seemed awfully expensive for what it is: an older hotel though maintained well and kept up to date. The staff was very attentive even before we arrived. The rooms are small, but the views on the upper floors are nice. Our room was considered lake view, but it was half lake and half neighborhood view as we were on the north side of the building. In any case, it was an enjoyable stay and exactly what I was after: something within walking distance of Lincoln Park and the North Avenue Beach (we came for the Chicago Air and Water show). We did not check out the rooftop bar but there were plenty of great food and drink options within safe walking distance. Highly recommended if you don't mind paying extra for a great location.
Booked this hotel last minute after a change of plans and we were very impressed. The staff were attentive, helpful, and always very friendly. The hotel is very clean and has a cool, eclectic style. There is also a really awesome rooftop bar that provides fantastic views of the Chicago skyline. Finally, the hotel is well located for exploring downtown and the surrounding Lincoln Park area. I would definitely stay here again.
Wow! I wish I had found this hotel sooner. From the friendly greeting at reception on the ground floor to the tasty food and inspiring views from the top floor lounge, this place does it right. The comfortable bed and park view (request a park view on floor 5 or above) are wonderful. I love to walk and the free zoo and park across the street provide many great routes upon which to ramble, plus you can walk a bit further to the lake shore paths and stroll safely for miles. Finally, it's only a few blocks south to a wide variety of restaurants. Give it a try, it won't disappoint!
There should be a disclaimer when making a reservation at this hotel. If you're older than 45, don't go. This hotel is very hip and cool. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms even tinier (only one person at a time can fit in the bathroom), and the closet non-existent. We left our room at 9 am and when we returned at 3:15, it still hadn't been cleaned. The rooftop terrace has a great view of the lake, but you need earplugs as it seems to be a hip, happening place which is way too loud to even think. Parking a car here overnight is $52/day. This hotel takes itself way too seriously. I would never return.
We ate at the inside portion of the rooftop bar. The food was delicious, the mixed drinks were strong (making the Lincoln Park price easier), and the staff was very nice and attentive. We had a large group and the staff did a wonderful job taking care of us. Only complaint: the music was so loud we had to shout across the table. However, our server was great and turned it down after we asked.
Great staff, comfortable room! Delicious breakfast and an amazing view at the J. Parker rooftop restaurant. The room was small, but nicely appointed. You can tell that it is an older building which has been updated and although it has been well done, note that it won't have everything a newly built building would have. If you are looking for a fun place to stay in Chicago, I highly recommend The Hotel Lincoln!
Wonderful hotel with a very friendly staff! Had a great breakfast in the rooftop restaurant (I highly recommend the French toast). The only downside was the frosted glass sliding door used for the bathroom door. If you are traveling with someone and do not want an in-depth knowledge of their bathroom activities you have to turn the television on quite loud. All in all though it was a great hotel in a nice location!
My boyfriend and I booked a room for one night. Originally, we had 1 bedroom with a Queen Size bed and 1 bathroom - upon check-in, the friendly staff upgraded us at no cost to a King Size/2 bathrooms room instead. We were very pleasantly surprised as it made the experience of staying at the hotel even better. The location is wonderful and you can easily walk to various bars, restaurants, and recreational areas.
The hotel has its own rooftop bar, but we did not get the chance to visit.
The ambiance and decor are welcoming and unique - we were very happy with our brief stay and would go back again.
