I checked in really late and the main parking lot is very poorly lit. There is also no clear walk way from the lot to the main entrance. The hotel is undergoing renovations but it was rather run down. Hallway carpet was stained, room had a musty smell, toilet kept running and coffeemaker was busted. Staff was nice but other than that, I wouldn't stay here again.
This resort is definitely dated and not for you if you want a typical Hilton experience. We stayed for a few days in June while we passed through Chicago and had the greatest time. I wish they would invest some resources to get the outdoor pool and mini golf up and running but what they lacked was certainly made up for by amazing staff. Frank (concierge) was so helpful driving us to local spots and helping us with the train schedules to/from Chicago & Milwaukee. It is a unique place with so much potential! It has so much character and made our roadtrip that much more memorable. We will definitely be staying again next summer :)
A very unique property that you will either love or hate. Rooms are not typical rectangular in shape so there are some interesting angles that make the space seem small in spots yet larger in others. The decor is a bit dated. Lobby carpet NEEDS replacing. There is a large atrium with a waterfall and bar plus plenty of room to relax all over the property. One south tower elevator was not in service and the hallways are narrow. Still a neat place to check out.
This place was amazing!! It definitely had a 70's vibe but the lobby was the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. They have fountains and real plants everywhere and it was my favorite part. My husband and I loved our room, everything was clean and in place! Room service was amazing also and we will definitely be coming back here.
Check-in was painless and staff was very helpful. I stayed in the hotel on business so several of he 'extras' were comped. The breakfast buffet was always stocked and warm. There was bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, waffles, on, milk, fruit, cereal, and oatmeal. Probably not worth the $15 price tag, but since it came with the accommodations, I cannot complain. Th bed was clean and comfortable with an assortment of girm and soft pillows. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The water was not as hard as typical hotel water and it was nice and hot. As for the pool, business center, and fitness room, they looked quite good, but I did not use them. The bartender at Izzie and Moe's was good and took care of us, but the food left something to be desired because it came from the hotel restaurant.
We spend our 6 year wedding anniversary here. This was a pleasant stay. Clean and quiet the, building architecture is awesome. I love the octagon shape, very different. Customer service was want i would expect. For the resort to be as nice and elegant as it is, i did see where some interior improvement could be enhanced. But over all i will recommend and come back again
The building and grounds are large and beautiful, and the staff is generous and helpful. We got room service and the food was amazing, especially the chocolate cake! And the hot tub was very hot, unlike some places where they don't make the water hot enough to be a real hot tub.
The stay at the Hilton was pretty great, we had a room next to the pool. The only complaint I have was the foot traffic (which is it to expected being poolside) and the fact that I had to wait an extra 30 minutes for my room. The receptionist who checked me gave me a 20 dollar voucher as an apology. All in all I would recommend this hotel. Oh and the spa, golf and mini golf areas were all closed which was a major bummer for me.
Great Hotel for a short stay. Rooms,TVs are old. Beds are comfortable. Restaurant serves it's purpose. Staff are kind. Great indoor swimming pool witha separate hot spa pool.
I really hate being the type of person that is sending an email of complaints but this day it was probably the worst hotel stay I have ever had and I don't think I have a choice but to say something. I deal with extreme anxiety and this hotel stay threw me into a genuine panic attack because of the uncleanliness of the hotel. I had booked a king room with a view of the golf course and they put us in a queen room with no view. The room was very dirty in that there was dust everywhere and I could see the leaves and mess outside the window. The worst part was there was blood on the pillow cases. That does not bode well for me and my anxiety. I called down to the front desk twice and they never came up with new pillows and new sheets. The bathroom had snot in the sink. I have always trusted Hilton hotels and have stayed in many before but I don't think I will ever stay in one again after this experience. We had planned to stay for two nights but checked out the next morning because it was such a bad experience. The hotel was so disorienting and confusing. There were no signs anywhere and the hallways were small hot and not lit well. I am just so upset by this experience. I had booked this for my husband's birthday and it was all together disappointing to say the least. I cannot believe I spent $100 on this room and couldn't even sleep in the sheets or pillows because of the blood. Overall, such a disappointing experience.
Close enough to the big city with a far away feel flanked with scenic, woodsy, and spacious grounds. Our group felt they were in another zone, even in the cold season that we chose to resort.
Fun facility very close at Stratford Mall allowed us a wide variety of indoor activities for all ages! Scenic Cave lounge and lobby areas of the hotel were big highlights and more reason to not leave the grounds.
Can't wait to take in the spring green!
The rooms were clean and the staff that we saw were very nice. However, it was hard to know what to do. They need a pamphlet or something in the room to tell you what is there and what the attractions/restaurants offer. Also, there were so many things either broken (1/2 the games in the arcade and our coffee pot) or closed. The Cave Bar was cool, but 2 times I walked in and there wasn't even a bartender so forget that. Went to the liquor store. In short-this place could be awesome, needs renovation, better communication and more staff. There was garbage outside my neighbor's room from 5pm-9am the next day. Then I had to call because they put a $50 hold on my account for incidentals. Apparently this is normal even though I spent nothing extra. So I have to wait 5 days to have it released. That is something that should have been shared. I'm sure it was on that standard form that no one ever reads upon check in.
This hotel is pretty out dated for it to be a Hilton. Rooms aren't too bad. But the grounds and interior part of the hotel needs some TLC. Would this keep me from coming back? No it won't. Breakfast was pretty good for it being free for Gold members. Staff has been very nice and professional. The pool and hot tub are Huge! And it comes with a slide for kids.
