The Drake motto is Real Chicago. I totally agree. This is the nicest place to stay with the most history. It's a classic💜 romantic, elegant environment. The beds, bedding and pillows we're soft and wonderful. The shower was hot and the tub was large and I was able to relax and enjoy a bath with a bath bomb from LUSH down the street. Everything about the Drake was great! Food and shopping galore. Also, crossed the street to go down to Oak Street Beach.. The Drake is a beautiful location! Perfect place to stay!

The location is perfect if you are a tourist wanting to stay close to the main attractions. The hotel has old world charm but unfortunately did not live up to the standards of "old world" attention. We only had coffee for the first night we were there, they never replenished our cups or coffee pods needed to make coffee. We also only had two towels for two people, which seemed a bit stingy. The hotel lobby bar was fantastic, and felt like stepping back in time, with great drinks and live music. The rooms are dated, but that is to be expected with the age of the hotel.
I was so excited to go to my first high tea and I thought what better place than The Drake Hotel. Sadly I was wrong. I made my reservation a month and a half in advance only for them to cancel it the day before with no warning and no reason. Luckily I was able to call and get a same day reservation no problem. The service was extremely slow and the waitress was kind of rude. Then I go check my bank statement 2 days later and see that I was TRIPLE charged!!! at $50 a person that's not a cheap mistake!! Will think twice before returning here.
We stayed at the Drake for three days in Sep 2017. The room is big, clean and cozy. The decoration is really classic. The bathroom is clean. The bed is really soft and comfortable. The house keeping service and persons were nice and welcoming. We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea at the palm court. Except that I hope there is more room in the fridge within the room for the customers to store food and having microwave in the room, the overall experience is excellent.
Loved this place inside and out. Very friendly staff. The bar area is relaxing cozy comfortable happy surreal and historic. That perfect place to unwind. I look forward to going back.
I recently visited the Drake Hotel for a professional networking event, and from the moment I walked in, I knew that they had selected the perfect place. As soon as I approached the doors I was welcomed by the people at the front, and they guided me to the direction of the event. Upon entering the room, I noticed the immense detail and quality of the hotel. The cleanliness was incredible, the carpet was soft and comfortable, and the chairs and upholstery matched very well. At the same time, the air was cool and relaxing. At the event, the hosts were very friendly and willing to go out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Very nice and fancy hotel. Lots of crown molding and carpeted floors. Flowers in vases in the lobby with plenty of bellhops and front desk assistance. Rooms were elegant and very nice. A great hotel with the feeling of the 60s or 70s. Not a modern hotel but very nice.
Great location near downtown Chicago and a beach. In walking distance to a Metra stop which is convenient. The hotel itself has an old time fancy feel to it and everything looks very nice. Same goes for the rooms. Employees are very nice and helpful. Didn't eat or drink at the hotel locations since they were expensive but plenty around to visit.
The hotel is spectacular. The service is great and the rooms are beautiful. I've never been in a hotel this fancy and prestigious ever so it's a nice experience! Everyone on the staff is friendly even the staff of the small shops, restaurants and café neat by. Overall great experience!
I really like this place! Room service is great and breakfast is the best! Time to plan another visit. Only bad thing is parking. There isn't any and the parking garages are over priced. The the stay can be worth it!
We were at the hotel St Patrick's day weekend. I have never stayed at a hotel that treats you so wonderfully. The staff was impeccable the bell men knew our family so quickly they made it a point to get to know us and allowed us to get to know them too it was like running into a long lost friend . The restaurants were delish the breakfast was top notch. I will never stay anywhere else in Chicago. And the view from the rooms and the accessibility to everything was perfect. I don't know who does the hiring but they do a great job finding personable people who love their jobs.
Very old but very charming furniture. The woman at the front desk didn't even pretend to care about my request for a microwave. "No promises," she said, in a very dismissive way. So I was pleasantly surprised when they brought me one right after I got into my room. The only downside to this hotel is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbor is up to. My coworker went down to the bar during our stay and told me the atmosphere was wonderful, they have a pianist, which I think is fantastic. Overall, great location and adequate customer service.

We came to Chicago for a two night stay. When looking at the options, two different family members told us, "You must stay at the Drake Hotel." They were absolutely right. There is a sense of class and history here that cannot be manufactured. The building and rooms are elegant, and the location on Michigan Avenue and the Magnificent Mile is prime. Hotel staff are courteous and professional, and the parking package (booked in advance) was very reasonable. I highly recommend this hotel, and will stay here in the future again, based on this experience.
