For the price the hotel is great. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping the Navy Pier and the Gold Coast. Overall the room was fine there were some areas that could use a little maintenance but no real issues. They do take a large security deposit so make sure your credit card has the available limit. There is no free parking you must pay $16 a day to park your car in the garage next to the hotel. Overall I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying downtown Chicago looking for a less expensive room with most of the amenities you would expect.
Hotel Indigo is my favorite place to stay downtown. Aside from the great location to many Chicago attractions, it is also many comforts and amenities that make a several day trip away from home very comfortable. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and decorated in a way that sets it apart from many other hotels. The hotel staff is very courteous and helpful each time we stay. My only complaint would be that the parking at the hotel is quite expensive and it takes the valet drivers a long time to get your car to you. We definitely add 15 min to our planned schedule every time we choose to park here. The hotel itself is always exceptional.
Excellent hotel in a great Gold Coast location! Not lavish but not overpriced, either. Staff is nice, great little bar in lobby, and the restaurant for breakfast is good. Rooms are quirky, colorful and quiet -- not the same-old same-old. Only down side was the bathroom. Teeny tiny -- no place to put your stuff and weird shower set-up. Otherwise, thumbs up!
We booked this through an Airline to receive eventual points for our stay. 8 months later we never were given our advertised points by the hotel. The room was small but, very clean. There was a long, slow, and tedious check in process which resulted in many people standing for hours. I had asked about an early check in prior to booking and was told no problem however; I still had to wait when I arrived and was not allowed to check in early. I ordered a brownie sundae from the kitchen which took forever. In fact it was 40 minutes even though the restaurant was empty and there were only two patrons eating at the counter. By the time I got it the ice cream was melted. The location was great but, I'd look harder for something else next time.
I've stayed at this hotel twice within 12 months, and I would go back there any time! The staff at the front desk are very courteous, the rooms are very "colorful" and clean. I've got only good memories with this hotel. If you're an early bird, Lake Michigan is only a couple of blocks away to take a walk for a beautiful sunrise, but also North Michigan Avenue is in perfect walking distance. If you don't have breakfast included, go out, take a left and on your left side (same building / block) there's a place called "3rd Coast Cafe" an awesome place for breakfast!
Really nice hotel. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Breakfast was pretty good as well. Location was awesome. It was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Some of the rooms are really small but that seems typical for Chicago. The room size is the only reason I gave it four stars.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around
I have stayed here twice already. This is a small
Boutique hotel with polite and well mannered people.
Well maintained, clean and with comfortable rooms.
Right in the heart of the Gold Coast. It is low key and located in one of the most charming areas of Chicago. It is just a fine, adorable happy boutique hotel, I would happily continue to stay during my professional visits to Chicago.
Absolute Gem! This location is so adorable! We booked a room at this very affordable and perfectly situated hotel for a birthday/holiday road trip and were delighted upon our arrival. The manager personally escorted us to our room for a tour before checking in. Parking is somewhat pricey but competitive for that neighborhood. The location was safe, clean and fun even at night. It must be a popular spot as we even spotted a professional ball player on the elevator. The front desk staff was very helpful and fun. There is a bar and breakfast nook conveniently located on the first floor. We were able to walk to the Navy Pier from our room and were very close to shopping and great food. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
I loved the neighborhood and the style of this place. I love colorful, whimsical décor. They ought to be more aware of the noises from other rooms I was waiting for the elevator and could hear the lovers in the next room. Not too embarrassing. Perhaps put the active couples at the far end of the hallways. It would have been nice if the windows were easier to open as it was a beautiful day.
Nice restaurants in the area. Some employees were more cheerful and helpful than others. I don't understand when someone is in the hospitality industry and they act put off that you're a paying guest.

Location is good. Near Dt and to red line for public transportation. Room itself was smaller then used to, but then I was only there for sleeping so not a major issue. Major complaint is key card not working. Had to get both replaced at least 3. They say it due to being near a phone demagnetize it but that doesn't make sense since I put my card in my wallet, which is not near my phone. I did not have that problem in any other hotels. Well they did replace my room keys, but that still an major issue
Great lobby, nice staff, and a nice quiet location, but a couple factors just didn't work well for business travel. First, the room has no desk. It was nicely decorated, but it's a drag working on a laptop at the small kitchen table or on the bed. Second, the area was loaded with vocal beggars. I walked past 6 on my way to the restaurants just 2 blocks away.
Hotel staff was outstanding to work with in this very cute and quaint boutique style hotel. The property was clean and tidy and in a great neighborhood with easy access to different areas of downtown Chicago. The bed wasn't as comfortable as I would like, but was a small piece to an overall great stay.
Great hotel in a perfect location. We were in town for my bachelorette party and the suite suited our needs perfectly. It was large, easy to move around. Staff very helpful when we needed an extra bed
The service while here has been great! I've stayed on a couple other Hotel Indigo's before - this one feels a bit older but it's still nice. The location is very well placed close to many things to do.
